Sex, PS2 blamed for Brazil star's WC failure

Soccer stud Ronaldinho showed off moves in Germany...off the pitch; Brazilian reportedly tired at World Cup after all-night PS2, sex romps.

When Brazil entered the 2006 World Cup as the favorite to take the championship, many pointed toward two-time FIFA player of the year Ronaldinho as the reason the team was the top seed. When Brazil was knocked out by France in the quarterfinals, fingers again pointed toward the star--who was held scoreless and did not play nearly up to his billing--this time to blame. British tabloid The Sun says that Ronaldinho's poor showing was due to some off-field lovefests and plenty of PlayStation 2. In an interview with his girlfriend, French model Alexandra Paressant, the femme says that the soccer star would break team rules and sneak into her hotel room to "make love all night" and unwind by playing 2006 FIFA World Cup on the PlayStation 2. The Star implies that it wasn't the marathon sex sessions that left him worn out for competition. "Instead, [Paressant] says, his habit of playing PlayStation after their romps may have knocked his form."

everyone knows sex drains testosterone which makes sports and any athletic activity more difficult. Ask anyone who's been in high school sports.. The basketball coach at ours actually warned us not to rub one off the day of a game because it'd ruin our performance..

why would you play video game soccer if you can hit the fucking crossbar 4 times in a row and have it come straight back to you each time?

anyway, if I were him, I wouldn't really give a fuck. I also wouldn't go back to Brazil though, some crazy fan might try to kill him.

First it was Ronaldo for being "fat" and now it's Ronaldinho for playing PS2.

Give it up already. The entire team sucked during that game.

Ronaldo played pretty well actually. Ronaldinho totally disappointed. He did help control the rhythm of the some of the games, but he was invisible offensively.

That's my point though. Ronaldo played decently and yet he still caught flak because of his weight.

This thread reminds me of that scene from Raging Bull when they put those ice cube down Robert DeNiro's pants right before a fight. This was to prevent him from being tempted from having sexual thoughts.

Maybe Ronaldo needed to put ice cubes down his pants....
for christ sakes, its the SUN, you cant take anything printed in that to serious.
the UK Sun is different than the U.S. Sun. The U.S. Sun story would've been far better.... "Batboy reveals World Cup outcome to Ronaldinho through Playstation 2 game; Ronaldinho impregnates Batgirl"

Yeah, if she's the woman in Gigan's post, I think I'd be sneaking into her hotel room too. How can you turn that down?

Though I find the whole story funny, I doubt that's the reason. I doubt he was so addicted to his PS2 during the cup that he couldn't turn it down. When you think of all the things he could be doing, if he can't sleep, I'd rather have a player in there shagging his girlfriend and playing video games than out at the bars where anything can happen.
I don't think the sex thing is true. I think it's just player hating.
I dunno. I remember in 9th grade we had a basketball tourament and I know for a fact our second best player was at least getting head from two of the cheerleaders. He played like total shit the next day. I, on the otherhand, was as straight arrow as they come and I played the best I did all year and led our team to the tournament championship.

i like how the article didnt state who it was...there are so many club stars on that team that it can be from roberto carlos all the way to juan...haha first its violence and now a world cup loss..wonder what else games can get blamed for.

she would wear me out too
