This has to be by far the best shirt TNA has done to date. Simple, awesome, and just quite frankly freakin fitting for Christopher Daniels. :D

That's a pretty sweet shirt. How much?
Everytime I see the phrase "TNA game" I think of DOA Xtreme 2.
I think someone needs to get their mind out of the gutter as "TNA game" has nothing to do with Tits N Ass game.

Well, that's TNA's fault for naming their entire company after a sexual innuendo. I wish they would front the money and stick with "NWA," because "TNA" makes it sound even sillier and more immature than pro wrestling already is.

Gotta agree with this. Trying to explain the wrestling event I attended to people who don't know a thing about wrestling was an exercise in caution. "I went to TN..uhh..Total Nonstop Action wrestling, TNA wrestling, it's like WCW." They really should rename themselves due to the blatant innuendo, and the fact that they share the name of an old, lame WWF tag-team.

Kidding aside, a Total Nonstop Action game should be interesting.

Now that I think about it, Total Nonstop Action is a double entendre too. I do need to get my mind out of the gutter.
For those interested, if anyone besides me:

Wrestlemania tickets pre-sale is on at Ticketmaster. Password is Lions06. If you wait for WWE's presale (Fri. at 10 am EST), the password is DannyJ. "Official" on sale date is Nov. 11th.

I got 4 of the 100 dollar ones. Cheap enough so I don't feel like an idiot, expensive enough so I'm not sitting in row 16 of the uppermost deck.
That is CRUCIAL info, thanks man. I'm gonna order my tickets STAT.
yea bring back the damn ecw tv tiltle... it has great credibility...

its like the x division title.. its not exactly considered a low class title
Especially after RVD held it for about 2 years straight.

That TNA game is going to be a giant disappointment.

It's one thing to say they are shooting for No Mercy gameplay but actually reaching it is nearly impossible unless your name is AKI.

Not to mention Midway doesn't have the best inhouse track record and has never made a wrestling game before...it's a recipe for disaster.
Especially after RVD held it for about 2 years straight.
If ECW had any chance of getting a two hour timeslot around the new year, I could easily see RVD getting screwed out of the title at December to Dismember, bringing the TV title back, and being the unrecognized TV champion.
Wow this shows even with WWE hyping their movies during their shows, it doesn't help the movie.

See No Evil made $1.1 Million in revenue outside the U.S., which added to U.S. totals adds up to $16 Million. Apparently WWE is hoping that DVD sales will net $4 million, just so they can break even.

If See No Evil made that much, makes me wonder how bad The Marine will be. I don't think it's even broke the $10 million mark yet.
SNE already did break even during its theatrical run, the budget for the film was pretty small. Where are you seeing that?

All things considered, SNE was more successful than Cena's film...mostly because an "action movie" costs more to make than an 80's style horror film.

The TNA name is awful, but they are in a difficult position right now - if they change the name, it kills a lot of the work they've put in to establishing their brand so far, possibly enough to destroy it. If they don't, they're stuck with a lame, unmarketable name.
I remember laughing at this stupid shirt that was wrestling related in one of those catalogs. It had a dog with a beer and a vest, and it read "Stone Cold Steve Pawstin! Gimme a Woof Yeah!"

Who buys that shit?
Holy god. I would buy that shirt IMMEDIATELY if I saw it. I wish I could now.

This is me agreeing with Sporadic on the note that the game is being done by midway....

coughs.

I guess that's all i have to really say.

who cares.. atleast we will have another wrestling game.. hopefully it fills the huge year gaps between smackdown...

im hoping they speed it up so we could get a nice roster before ppl like nash and sting leave

They made the arcade version of WWF Wrestlemania. After that, Acclaim fucked with the license and trying to make a rip-off of it(In Your House).

Orton & RVD's entrances are up on IGN(PS2 only right now). Just noticed something while looking at the WWE rosters, did they let Snitsky go? I have to ask since I don't see him on the Raw roster.

*Edit* Okay, now I'm pissed. THQ fucked up RVD's entrance. He doesn't have Breaking Point's "One of a Kind" song. Instead they gave him that crappy song that's included on Wreckless Intent.
man is khali coming back?
Don't know. I posted a story in a old topic, he had a job in his home country that thought he was working while he was in the US wrestling. I bet WWE didn't want to hear that.

Um, that isn't very good at all.

WWF Wrestlemania was complete ass compared to WWF Raw.

I don't know all of their sports games are very heavy on being arcade and whenever they try to be serious, they bomb.

I know that, but the name "TNA" has been bugging me for ages; it's not your fault they're named that. Nevertheless, how can you not be ashamed of the following conversation (which we've all had)

Not-you: What'ca watchin'?
You: TNA
Not-you: !?!?!?!

C'mon, when you hear that wannabe James Earl Jones "This...is CNN" voice say "This...is TEE-ENN-AYY," this should immediately follow:

girls%20gone%20wild.jpg

It's a dreadful fucking name, and they really ought to change it, or else they'll always remain second best.

It should have been changed a few years ago but at this point they are, arguably, past the point of no return. Their only real option would be NWA but who knows what kind of legal morass that name/organization is in.

I've been over the TNA name for a while now but it definitely doesn't help with the general public. I was calling around this Sunday to see if any restaurants/bars were showing BFG. At one point I only said "TNA PPV" and was greeted with a short silence and knew exactly why. After that all calls were made saying "TNA Wrestling PPV".

Yeah, it's a terrible name, and definitely one that elicits a lot of weird looks when you tell them it's wrestling.

Hmm... maybe if they got another great voice to do the voiceover... would it help?

Maybe Sam Elliott? He can make anything sound cool. Or Sean Connery, who can do the same?

Picking random names out of a hat... Wilford Brimley?

"This is TNA... the new face of professional wrestling. Now, eat your oatmeal, and check your blood sugar... and check it often!"

wwf raw better than wwf wrestlemania??? dunno...

we are talking about the wwf royal rumble/raw series on snes/genesis??

sure wrestlemania was an arcade game but it was pretty fun.. in your house was the same crap

also on the tna thing..ive gotten used to the name so its no big deal.. it would be stupid to change name now after their finally making a name for themselves.. they actually distanced themselves a little from the nwa name but the world and tag belts are still nwa titles.. the x division title though is classified as the tna wrestling x division title.

Yes, Raw came out in 1994 and Wrestlemania came out in 1995

That's possibly true. On the other hand, they do use the NWA World Heavyweight Championship (and call it that), so they gotta have some pull with them.

Jack, I don't mind the guy's voice at all. It's what he says.

They're JUST STARTING on the TNA game? Wow. I knew there was turmoil about making it, but I didn't think it was that bad. Between multiple development teams (including Aki at one point) working on it, and now this, I don't have very high hopes for it. Hopefully Midway worked things out with Aki and will be using their engine for the game, because I can't see them creating a new engine that's actually good in so little time (assuming they stick with their original '07 release estimate).

As for TNA using the NWA name - they did that for over a year, and then decided against keeping the "NWA: TNA" name alive. In the long run, it's better for them to just use the TNA Wrestling name, since they don't own the NWA name yet, and only have the rights to use the tag and world titles until 2012.

When was it confirmed that AKI had anything to do with it?

I know they're an independent publisher, and since EA is using internal studios (EA Chicago) to work on Def Jam 3: K-Fed's Revenge, AKI isn't doing much of anything right now. Midway can fuck up until the cows come home; if AKI gets its paws on developing this game, then we all benefit.

I won't expect to see the game on store shelves until late next Holiday season or early 2008. Boo!

I was told by a source who worked with Midway extensively in the past two years that Aki was developing the game at one point, but was pulled off the job in favor of a Midway development team. There's still a chance that even if that happened, Aki could license their engine for use in the game, and if Midway gets desperate, I could see that happening. I hope that it's simply an issue like the Def Jam games, where Aki's engine is used, but the publisher's development team gets the credit, even if it was co-developed. Aki's last job with EA was the PSP Def Jam 2 port, and it looks like EA was eager to be rid of them given how derisive they've been towards Aki when talking about Def Jam 3.

That's his new song off Wreckless Intent for those who didn't know; apparently they decided to stick with his old one though, as USA has used this song for a couple of Raw commercials.

"If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit."

I noticed that even the gall-darned tag titles are the "NWA Tag Team Championship."

Why can't they go to "NWA-TNA" like they were in the beginning, and slowly move towards "NWA"? The name "TNA" is really fucking bugging me.

Jesus Christ on a stick - Lance Hoyt wins fewer matches than Justin Credible and Stevie Richards combined. What is he doing in a championship tournament?

I can't figure out if I hate Hoyt because he's a poor man's Test (which is akin to being a poor man's Washington Generals, or a poor man's William Hung, or a poor man's Congressman Foley), or because he has a lower back tattoo (something reserved for the idiots, which he clearly qualifies for, but also for *female* idiots.

Same reason I fuckin' hated Cassidy Riley.

Why the fuck are Chris Sabin, Bobby Roode, and Edge and Test's twisted no-talent love child -Lance Hoyt- in this tournament?

The booking has not been too bad and a lot of the things they have done so far I agree with (everyone at BFG needed to drop their belt, moving AJ and Styles back to the X-division, etc). I can even understand Joe and Angle fighting, but that thing needs to be a very short fued (one PPV match) as they should not have Joe end his winning streak until he wins the title and drops it to someone.

I found Matt Bentley's new tshirt design at tnawrestling.com

So, was the point of the "enter the ring" battle royal to go over the top, or is the entire TNA roster mentally handicapped?

Wonderful - Maverick Matt is emo now, and still shows no personality. The reverse battle royal was better than I thought it would be, but that whole segment just seemed like a waste of time. Angle's promo was scary, funny, and sad - so it's the usual stuff from Kurt, and we got the usual pull-apart with Joe. It's amazing that they've already become cliche after just ONE WEEK of build. Lance Storm went on a wonderful rant regarding TNA and their horrid booking that is a must-read. I thought about some of the stuff he mentioned (idiocy of reverse battle royal), and partially agree about EY (I hated it for more reasons than he listed). He brought up a bunch of good points, and I hope TNA actually listens and either gets rid of Russo, or asks him to book a wrestling show instead of 60 minutes of non-stop bullshit.

In this corner Doink the Clown, Doink the Clown and Doink the Clown!

Acclaim didn't create In Your House as a rip-off - it used the same gameplay engine, and Acclaim also worked on the development of the console versions of WM: the Arcade Game.

PWG: With the success of ECW (both in last year’s game and in current wrestling) will they be making an appearance in the game?
THQ: Several Extremists will appear in the game. In addition to that, the ECW One Night Stand arena is available for unlocking so that players and their friends can chant, “E-C-Dub!” until their heart’s content.

(i bet anything the extremists they are referring to are show and rvd) asses
