I picked up the guide for $4.99 at Gamestop B&M about a week ago.


Good price on the game, picked it up used for $27. (mint condition)

Yes, Amazon has a 30-day price guarantee for it's own website. Basically if Amazon sells the same item for less within 30 days, you can get the difference back if you call/e-mail them. They won't do it automatically when the price drops, you have to contact them for the refund.

Last time I bought Phantasy Star Universe for $29 (it was still $59 everywhere), then a week later Amazon dropped it even further to $19. So I e-mailed them and within a couple days I got $10 credited back to my credit card.

Yea, it wasn't marked down on the tag or anything, so I think it slipped through the cracks at EB / GS because I've seen the guide at a few stores still tagged $19.99.

For anyone that likes action-RPGs, this is a must-buy since you will likely never find this game for any cheaper than $28 new, no tax, free shipping. Unfortunately for me, I love Shin Megami Tensei but I hate action- RPGs.
 
GODDAMMIT!!!

I just paid my credit card bill yesterday and SWORE to myself that I would stop buying games for a while, at least a month. Then this morning I come here and Ive already pickedup 6 games from the Amazon 60% sale, and now I jumped on this as well.

Damn you CAG.... I love/hate you! lol

I haven't seen it under $30, but I've seen it at just about every EB/GS and gamecrazy that I've been to. Finding DDS1 is a little more difficult. It's been awhile since I've seen that.

I was fortunate to have found a copy of DDS 1 for $9.99 at TRU awhile back but since I heard it ends with a big cliffhanger, I want to make sure I can find DDS 2 before I crack it open and I can't find it anywhere.
 
Thanks OP. This dropped below the magical $30 point and I've been absolutely enraptured by the Shin Megami Tensei games on the PS2. Just finished Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, and now working on Nocturne.

Add another to the backlog!

EDIT: I'm going to be kicking myself if it drops to under $20, though. Oh, well, it'd probably sell out too fast at that price.

I don't believe the story in this game has much of anything to do w/ the story in the other DDS titles.

I went ahead and ordered a copy since the price was so good (and free shipping!). I've never played a game in this series before but I've heard good things, so I'll hope for the best.
 
Damn. And I just remembered that a EBGS on the way to work had a couple sealed Nocturne deluxe/limited editions for $55 each. I passed on them at the time and that was quite a while back but I'll have to drop by and see if they still have those tonight since it would complete my DDS set now. :cool:

Just call them up about it if it drops again, not a big deal - they have a 30 day price guarantee.

there's no perfect place to start the series. Digital Devil Saga 1 + 2 and Nocturne use menus, and this game is action/rpg. They're all pretty good games, but good luck getting a copy of Nocturne or DDS1 for less than $50-60.

Might as well go with this.
 
Down to $25. I ordered one, I own all the other games in the series (sealed) for some reason so might as well finish the collection off.

Believe it or not, I got the guide at my local Gamestop in Poughkeepsie NY for 4.99! they had like 5 of them. Check your local ebgames or gamestop. Most likely it is a company-wide price drop.

EDIT:Had one too many beers tonight, didnt see the other replies to this post further down about the Gamestop prices... sorry ;)

Want this but don't need it. Have a 4+ RPG backlog arleady. Although i am 90% done with nocturne now. Still a month at least away from finishing it.

i went ahead and bought this even though ive never played any of the other SMT games (i have been trying to find a reasonably priced copy of nocturne for like forever though lol)
