Should there be an L4D movie adaptation?

I'd like to see one soon. The Resident Evil flicks were poorly directed. Who are your picks to direct the L4D the movie? :D

From what I've heard, you really can't get off to the video.

Agreed, Cheapy said it was pretty terrible.

No! Why would you adapt this game when it's pretty much what zombie movies have been like the past 5 or so years?

I would say yes! and here's why - if they could do it Grindhouse-style, with 4 different directors doing 30-minute segments for each of the "campaigns" and make it stylized as hell. Each director could use the same actors...or different actors to make it even more unique. I think it would be a cool idea to do something like that. And I'd rather see them use no-name actors too.

If it's a bigger-budget hollywood bullshit try at a whole story, then no.

I like it.

That is a fucking awesome idea but I really don't see how/why it would benefit from the L4D branding. It would be really awesome if somebody made that movie though.

Kind of like the Animatrix? 9 totally different artstyles and storytelling styles but all revolve around the central plot (The Matrix)

Could be interesting.

EDIT: Oh, and there are actually 2 left 4 dead pornos.

The latter has no video due to it being on youtube.

No thanks. Great games don't need to be crappy movies.

Movies are old medium: playing with buddies co-op online is a far better story for me than watching some dumb-ass actors is far more satisfying to me. But that might just be me.
What gave you the idea that a game with practically no storyline would make a good movie?
Because a Zombie film doesn't need much of a plot. Zombies run amuck, people shoot them. fuck a story structure. The original Dawn of the Dead had a shit story, and it's still the definition of good zombie filmmaking.
Making a movie about a game that pays homage to zombie movies? Maybe not a good idea.
Which is precisely why my suggestion of exploit-style like grindhouse would work. Tarantino makes nothing but homage films at this point, and they pay homage to other films, and it works.

In that screen capture in the first post, why does Louis look like he should be working at an auto garage/car wash, rather than at some accounting firm?

He actually looks like the Chappelle Show character from the wife-swap bit. "I smell your lightsaber"

:rofl:Actually, he looks almost exactly like a dude who works for my company.

I think the original models look overly badass, Francis and Louis especially, but apparently they blend in too well and there was too much team wounding in testing.

I still laugh whenever the characters chastise each other for friendly-fire.

Which is why I shoot Francis any chance I get, that prick.
