Unfortunately, I did the same, it just got really boring, really fast, to the point where I just left my DS sitting there on my bed to pass the years by, in hope of a new invention showing up.

I awful at this game. Can someone steer me in the right direction?

I'm about 25 years in and I am so deep in debt (80K?). I've tried the tricks with the raising the tax at the end of the month but it just makes my population go way down. Because of the debt my city has been just doing nothing for the past 5 years. I've tried reducing funding for municipal items like police, schools etc but it just causes more problems. What should I set my RCI tax levels at? How about funding for police and other stuff? I just can't generate funds for the city.

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

thanks

RC

You need to make your city profitable soon as the game begins. Which means don't build railroads! Ignore the towns people, advisor, and news ticker telling you to build things. You need only few schools, hospitals, police, etc. Look at the graphs and data and figure out what you really need. You'll find you don't need a lot.

add me to that list.

it was really cool to have sim city in a handheld, but it just moved along too slowly...

That's what Simcity is! I love to plan out ideas for better rail routes, how to minimize roads, tweak taxes for short term population spikes to set new records, etc. It sounds to me like you guys forgot about what Simcity really is and purely bought this based on nostalgic factor.
