I'm hoping I can PM the copy of Mario Party 7 I bought two weekends ago and see if I can get it down from the $25 I paid for it ($10 off $39.99 or more coupon, $10 GC, $5 RZ cert) to $1.99. That would be excellent if it could happen.
 
Though stocks in-store will be limited this is a legit sale. This happened last year and alot of us scored games like Nanobreaker, Radiata Stories, DT Racer, etc. Thanks OP this made my day and I will be reconing my store tomorrow to make sure I don't waste my time going Monday and BB not having anything.

Errg I can't go to Best Buy till Tuesday unless I chose to miss class. Hopefully all of the games I want will still be there by then.
 
Okay i was watching this tread for the lists to be posted and when i did flew out my door and to the nearest BB which is 20 mins away, i had 50 or so games i was looking for and NONE of them were to be found. I have a feeling that BB might have had their employees pull these off the shelf to be sold on monday or the employees are hoarding these for themselves which i hate to believe.

Any of you BB employees know why this might be? Are these suppose to be pulled and then put in a bin on monday? Or is this a case of employee hoarding? Vahn u out there man?

Considering the consistency of games not being found anywhere, it would indicate that items are being pulled, if only to slap a "clearance!" sticker on them. After that, employees might get their first dibs, but I just can't believe that almost EVERY game is gone from EVERY store. I mean, College Hoops 2K6 and Ridge Racer could always be found, and they've been $19.99 for quite a while. I can't see a $15 drop just wiping them out over night. There has to be more to it.

I agree. While I'm sure many employees will snag these games before the general public, I can't believe that at all these diff BB's people have posted about visiting, they've already done so at every one of them. I would just like confirmation from a BB employee that they are pulling them for Monday...or maybe there just really are that many employees snagging anything and everything already, but I find that hard to believe.

I'm gonna agree on that. It might have been two or three weeks ago I saw many copies of GT 3 and other Greatest Hits PS2 games. And Player's Choice GameCube games were very much in stock.

Maybe people finally bought them all, but I saw these games for months.
 
Ok, from what I'm understanding, this doesn't begin until Monday? If so, then fucking hell. :mad: I have a soccer tournament on Monday and Tuesday. :(

If you look at the list of games, most of them are ultra old. Best Buy only carries titles for so long. After that they no longer receive shipments of the game. So the reason why you aren't seeing most of these is simply the fact that Best Buy as a company only has so many of them. Beatmania Bundle for example, we had 1 in our entire district. I checked another district nearby and they also only had 1 in their entire district. My specific store was not holding anything for Monday. The re-stickering will take place on Monday morning or whenever that store/department decides to do their permanent price changes. Employees have the entire list available to them under Retail Insider on their toolkit. As far as employees sitting stuff aside, you bet. I had several stores calling my store to transfer stuff to them so they could get in on the deals that we had that no other stores in the district had. This clearance is heavily picked through already due to the fact that we just came off of a holiday season. Most of the titles are older titles that we haven't carried for at least 6 months. So meaning that if your store sold out of them, they haven't gotten any new shipments of them in since then and will not be getting any shipments of them in. Closeout is Closeout, once it is gone, it is gone. The pricedrops are nationwide and limited to stock on hand. It is 99% guaranteed that most stores will have very little of this clearance merchandise. Any other questions?
 
This is gonna suck. All I want it 1 GC game. I have a Wii and have never played GC before.

So, lets just say I did goto BB today and found Mario Party 7 for $40 or whatever it costs. If I buy it then, and take it back tomorrow when sale starts, do I get the difference?

So say we find something we want from the clearance list on Monday and take it to the register to buy. Will the price drops be reflected in the computer or will we have to deal with the computers ringing them up at their normal prices and the cashier not being able to do anything about it?

The prices will not be in the system until Monday morning. The prices will be downloaded into the system overnight Sunday into Monday. They will ring up the clearance price at that time.

I understand your point, but I think you missed mine. The argument is not "Why can't I find any of these games at my Best Buy?" It's more "Where did this game that I just saw several of a few days ago go?" This is where the question is raised. We realize these games are old, and is a collective list for any and all games that may still be in circulation. Sure, it may be that the employees are simply snatching up what is left, but if that's the case at EVERY single store, why doesn't Best Buy just label this an "Employee Exclusive Sale" and call it a wonderful "benefit" for their employees. An annual housecleaning if you will. I realize this list wasn't ever intended to be leaked to the general public in the first place, but it just seems like Best Buy could use it to their advantage, and come off as the oh so generous employer if they manipulated it properly.

I'm curious to know how many people want games to add to their collection and how many want to sell on Ebay, Gamestop, etc. I don't want very many, maybe 20 or so, all for my own collection. I have no preference either way though.

It is ultimately up to the Media Supervisor at each store of how they are going to deal with it. Myself personally, I see no point in going through 12 pages of unsorted game titles that do not give me any indication of whether or not I have the game in stock or not, only to pull it so it will kill my margin on monday. It is not worth the time and effort to pull all of the games. It being a weekend on top of that, we're fairly busy compared to during the week. If it was during the week, MAYBE pull them but the weekend.... NOT Happening. I'm just telling you that don't expect to walk into BB on monday and them magically have everything on the list in bulk quantities. And like I said before, you said well they had several copies of something the other day. Figure each store has a minimum of 80 employees. Even if they had 5 copies, you do the math. 5 copies isn't anything compared to 80+ employees for that store.

Pricematch policy states that they will match any local competitor's price within 30 days and you will also receive 10% of the difference on top of that. This includes their own prices but not neccessarily their own online pricing.

That will depend on the cashier and the manager on duty. Most coupons state that they do not work on clearance merchandise. Using the coupon will require an override by the MOD, if that is the case.

The list is everything at the beginning of the thread. The list is 12 pages total with the last page being 1/3rd full.

If they have the game in stock right now online, it SHOULD be on sale for $1.99 on Monday.... exactly what time, I would assume around 6am Eastern, 5am Central Time. Just like when a new Sunday ad price changes and website update occur.
 
I just went to our local Best Buy, and found none of the 20 or so games I went looking for. However, when I asked an older gentleman (steering clear of the young gamer kids), I was told that yes, they pulled the games and the cards in order to bin them up for Monday morning.

It probably means that we're going to see a free-for-all Monday morning full of mostly GBA and PS2 games, as that has always seemed to the biggest stock of games at most Best Buy's I've been to. The entire video game section looked like a tornado had hit it head on - nearly nothing left for GC and XB games, and a bunch of open spots where games once stood.

Either way, I don't have class on Monday and I'm not working either. I'll be there early.

Oh, and our Best Buy had a copy of NBA Live 2004 for the Xbox. Seriously, why?
 
This list is awesome ... unfortunately, I haven't seen about 95% of these games at my nearest BBs in months. Especially, all these PSP games. They only stock the newest 15 or so PSP games (like 3 copies of each), and then they are gone after that. Good luck to any one who can get some of these. I will probably be shafted again though :whistle2:(

No, I completely agree, it's crazy thinking every game on the list will be in a bin come Monday morning. As I said, it's a collective list of things to get rid of. I would just hope that what was left of the list hadn't been wiped out before the sale even started because that makes it all pointless. I guess I'm just frustrated because honestly, if these kinds of deals turn out to essentially be "employees only", then this whole thread has been a complete and utter waste of time. That's the only thing that bugs me about CAG, lots of wild goose chases. Many times, you'd be better off never having read the so called "deal". I appreciate BK's effort and intention, but sometimes it's just hard to swallow annointing the "CAG of the year" for a deal that was nothing more than a mirage.
 
Aww, I want Mario Party 7 or Pikmin 2 or SOMETHING for GC so badly, I have NO games for my Wii, and have never played GC.

JJSP, I would greatly appreciate a $1.99 game for GC...
