Found Chronicles of Narnia (Xbox) at the BB on Broadway (NYC - near prince street). They had quite a few left...

I also remember seing there a number of the Cabala games, Fantastic4 (xbox), SW battlefront (ps2), GTA San Andreas GH (xbox), and Nightmare Before Christmas (PS2).

I believe the store is less than 6 mths old, so a lot of the older titles may never have been in stock.

Has anyone been to the Staten Island Best Buy???

I suprised that there are some good games left over in nyc.Boy,did i choose a bad time not looking at cheapassgamer.The misleading name made me think this was a small sale.I guess not.I might swing by tommorow and hope to snag a few decent or resonable titles.

LOL... I was at the store an hour after you posted this... all the VPs are gone, but I got the last of the Monster Hunter Freedom nearby... so whoever grabbed them all prob just saw your post and hit the store.

Lots of GC Harvest Moon, still lots of Hitman: Blood Money... and a TON of overstickered/overboxed DS (Sprung x6?), PSP (Death Jr x5?), and GBA games. Didn't try to get them to scan the original barcodes

Bunch of other things that slip my mind...


Oh, and they had about 7 Wiis and a TON of Wiimotes in stock, plus at least one Nunchuck.

Some people got lucky and scored some pretty sweet deals. I'd imagine that the majority were like me -- their Best Buy just flat out didn't have hardly any of the games in stock from the list, and haven't had for months.

There have been *way* better clearance sales over the past two years. I'm kinda thinking of this one as the Most Disappointing Clearance Sale of 2007. It's gotta get better with an inevitable CC summer clearance and a TRU clearance or two.

I went yesterday.Portsmouth nh had nothing.I even asked after looking a bit and an employee told me that store hadnt had none of those games for months.


Whats the deal with carrying list?Who cares if you got a list, they are on clearance they want to get rid of them.I dont see why a manager or anyone else would care if someone bought everything up for the listed price.Maybe im wrong.
 
Don't forget that the $10 off coupon expires tomorrow! I took one with me when I went looking for clearance games in case I saw Wii Play, but no luck on that or clearance games.

Try telling that to the one manager @ the Circuit City store in Middletown, NY. Back when I was a major guide hoarder, I'd go that far away from my area because their BB always had tons of them on the shelves. While I was there the one time, I stopped in their CC and found a couple of the clearance games I'd been looking for. I think one of them was either Champions Of Norrath(non-GH) or Baldurs Gate: DA 2.

As it turns out, I get one of the clerks with no grey matter of her own and she called over a manager when DA2 or CON rang up for $2-4 or so. The manager does an override and pretty soon, the price is jacked back up to $19.99.

I tell them I want the game for the price it's ringing up. The manager tells me they 'fixed the glitch in the system that caused the lower prices', which is a nice way of saying 'we don't wanna sell these games THIS cheap'.

I still walked out with the one other game I was buying that day, but I doubt that store would ever get another dollar of my money. Obviously, some retail managers feel there should never be unannounced sales that they don't know about and prices that ring up less than marked HAVE to be wrong.
 
oooooh! I have a list... a super secret list.... it tells me what your shelf tags will say a game costs....

I had a soflines manager read me the riot act during the Kmart Clearance. She told me to tell her where I got the list and I told her SD...

All the games were priced as marked in that case, too!
 
I had the same issue at a K-Mart over the summer. When all the games rang up for 75%-90% off and were tagged full price she almost thought I was pulling something and saw my list and accusingly asked where I got a list. I just said internet
 
They wouldn't sell me Virtua Tennis PSP for $4.99 because there was a sticker over the the original upc with a NEW sku that made it $9.99. wtfbbq
 
i'm about to head out to best buy and get all the items i was gonna buy yesterday and ask them to scan the original barcode. if they can't do it for me, well then fuck them.

ya know he may have been banned from CAG by one of the mods for some silly reason and that pissed him off so now he's determined to steal this site's thunder and ruin all these deals for us. Best thing is to post deals but make them less obvious and maybe the mods can be more leanient about banning people. I mean it was pretty lame when IAmTheCheapestGamer vbmenu_register("postmenu_2705588", true); was banned for a few days because he was defending himself against that old fat lady who kept calling him a hoarder. And then that other guy Z or something was banned at the same time for sticking up for IAmTheCheapestGamer vbmenu_register("postmenu_2705588", true); and that girl never came back! So since this forum is pretty much suppose to be for adults only then maybe be a little more lenient and less flaming and more secretive. Just my 2 pennies!
 
I got my price adjustments today no problem. I wish there was some way to price match theses prices at another store, I really wanted elder scroll.

I remember a couple of years ago my sister picked up a couple of penny guides at Best Buy and as she was leaving the security guy checked her receipt. He said that they don't sell ANYTHING for a penny and made her return them after she had already paid for them. She complained to the manager anbd sent a couple of letters and did not get any thing, not even an apology. Afterwards I learned this was basically illegal to force someone to return something after money has been exchanged and they could have been fined $1000+ per an incident, but it too late to do anything by then.

You should try contacting the Better Business Bureau for the area. They seem to have a little more clout. I had a problem with Costco.com and they really helped get my complaint noticed.
 
I just wanted to say that I hit Best Buy today for three games and found two of them.

The Bestbuy in Loveland has many more Valkier Profiles, Locco Rocco, etc. They forgot to put them in the discount section and lable those titles.

Which worked perfect for me since it would have been out immediately. They were already sold out of the good deals for Monster Hunter before it started.

The Best Buy near my house has a ton of Elder Scrolls Oblivion Collectors Edition (the one in the Brown Box). The clerk said that there store had already been cleared out and that this was a different one then the one that was on sale. But it clearly said “Elder Scrolls Oblivion Collectors Edition.” Is there an older version that I am not aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
went to the store in conroe, tx... no luck. clerk tells me that people were waiting outside yesterday for these games... they did have an abundance of xbox godfather, but passed... only wanted the 360 games... guess i'll throw my hat in the race and say "if anyone wants to sell their 1.99 or 4.99 xbox 360 games, pm me"

They have been conflicting reports on Oblivion:CE, I haven't brought mine back to get a price adjustment (picked it up Sunday), but others who went to BB where I got mine said they paid $9.99. Just go and try to buy it, if it rings up at full price pretend you left your debit card in the car and leave.

One employee was walking around in the area stacking games, and I'm like "Make yourself useful and point out the games to me!" He pointed a few out: Hulk Ultimate Destruction ($9.99 for that? Nahhh... pass.), Van Helsing (I got 1, 9 left), and 344,038 copies of Deus Ex Invisible War. I had Deus Ex, so it was no good to me.

He had to help out some lost customer looking for something, so I was on my own now. I had the list, but was too lazy (and cheap) to pull it out.

Later in the day, I came back. He was gone, but a hot blonde girl was there. People asked her to scan their games.

"Hey baby, are these on sale?" That would've been one hell of a pick-up line if I asked her, but I never needed her help, so I didn't ask. I knew exactly what price everything was, so people who were asking for a price-check was wasting their time.

There were lots of (crappy) $1.99 games left. I don't buy multiple copies, and I don't buy games for the hell of it just because it's $1.99. I buy it to play.

I even took out some games and was nice enough to set it out in the open for all to get (I had them already, no need to get 2).

After picking up so many $1.99 games, I estimated my bill.

"$2, $4, $6, $8. 8 bucks!" I've never counted my games in multiple of 2 before! Heh...

It was $9.99 for Hulk. I got a little shaky at the sight of Hulk (and the price...). I hear it did well in reviews, but I'm not sure I wanted it for some reason...


I'll be back tomorrow to check for anything else. I'm going back tomorrow anyways, because DDR Universe is out (X360) and also, last day for $10 off $39.99 coupon.
 
Is anyone looking for Final Fantasy XI for Xbox 360? Out of all the clearanced 360 games, this is the only one I could find. I think I can still get a few copies.

I think with out Hulk he got a good pick up granted Big Mutha Trucker isnt my first choice but still i say a good haul. Better than in NYC there is nothing here all cleaned out.
