All amazing games. Don't pass 'em up.

Still wish I could find a copy of the first PS2 Devil Summoner.

I'd never pay for the PSN Persona 3, though. PCSX2 works just fine for me.
 
Great games, I'm super-glad they're not fucking rare ransom collector's items anymore. Yay for cheapass badass games!

QFT. I'd love to have brand new copies of DDS 1 and 2 (I had to buy used copies since new ones were so expensive awhile back) but my copies work fine. The SMT series is simply amazing, P3 and P4 still remain two of my favorite RPGs of all time.
 
If only I wasn't a father with two kids... These games are all awesome I really hope there would be an hd collection for the PS3
 
This is a good bargain. I already own all of them, and I paid more than $20 each. But I have only played two of them. I need to get cracking on my backlog.
 
Didn't have P4 so I bought it. $20 for a NEW copy of that game is pretty awesome. Thanks for the post, OP!

I have Devil Summoner 2 for my PS2 that I bought on sale for $20 years ago, its still unused because I haven't played the first game yet. I think this is the one Shin Megami Tensei game that doesn't have any reprints...its been on my wishlist for years and I only see it going for ridiculous prices ($50 for a used PS2 game? $100+ for new? No, just no.).

Thanks OP! I bought one of these games (P4) because I have a hole in my collection.
 
Hmm...tempted to buy a second copy of these games as I owned the original limited first print in sealed condition. Damn wish Devil Summoner was included :(..I have one sealed, but I ain't opening that bad boy up. Should've bought two back in the day when they were selling for 19.99 at Walmart.

If you can actually manage to find a Gamestop that has it in stock they sell it for $20 used. After several months of checking availability via store locator and a one-hour drive, I actually managed to pick up a complete copy in excellent shape for $20. :D

Okay, so I absolutely loved Persona 3+4..how much will I like DDS1+2?
Are they more challenging? How are the characters and story?

I found them more challenging quite a bit, and they are direct sequels so the story continues over. Way different games tho, story builds and is better imo.

Also I did some digging around and apparently both DDS 1 and 2 are confirmed for psn in the future.
 
Thanks for the heads up! I have been playing Persona 3 Portable and have been wanting to play Persona 4. I was going to wait for the Vita re release but at this price I can play the original first just in case they add an alternate character to the portable version again. Fun fact, the paperback version of The Hunger Games is on amazon for $5.01, making it perfect filler for free shipping.
 
Anybody who claims to like the SMT series but never played Nocturne has no excuse right now. It's the only game that isn't a spinoff, and the only one that will put hair on your chest.
 
For Shin Megami collectors, the Devil Summoner games have been becoming increasingly hard to find more so then these games. Too bad those came out around the time these were reprinted.
 
Persona's are great, but Nocturne is one of my 3 favorite RPG games (next to Final Fantasy IX and Morrowind).

Nocturne is brutal as all hell but dear lord is it amazing.

I'm honestly wondering why Atlus hasn't reprinted that game... I can't think of many Atlus games that haven't been reprinted in the last few years once they became rare/valuable (outside of 1st prints and special editions- which makes sense).

Actually, I can't think of many rare standard (again, not 1st prints or CEs) Atlus games within the past 5 years outside of Devil Summoner. I probably missed a few but... still, it can't be that many.
 
These are all great games. :) I have them all and would highly recommend them all to anyone.

Note that Persona 3: FES is on PSN right now, and Digital Devil Saga 1&2 were reported a few months ago to be on their way to the PSN as well (I believe the reports were specific to the European PSN, but I would think the U.S. PSN would receive them too). So if you'd rather buy on PSN ($10 each instead of $20), the only one you should need a physical copy of is Nocturne.

What I'm REALLY hoping for is a PSN version of Persona 4: The Golden. Either that or a PS3 Collection of Persona 4: The Golden and Persona 3 Portable with trophies (like the God of War: Origins collection). I really don't want to buy a Vita and/or PSP to play those games. :/
 
Damn. I was just thinking today how cheap these were, then someone goes and posts them. Can I play 3+4 without having played 1+2?

I think I'll be picking up all but Nocturne. They'll be great in my collection. I'm currently going through Nocturne atm. *_* No wonder I gave up long ago. It's getting challenging but I'm wiser now!

I hope the DDS games are good. P3 and P4 were fun back then.
 
DDS2 is in the same tier as Nocturne in terms of quality, so it's great stuff. Easier however, and much more simple to get into as it actually has characters. DDS1 is the weakest of the games here but still is really good and it should be played before DDS2 anyway. stuff you do in one will affect the other that way.

I happen to have a copy of Devil Summoner in like new condition (I'm not fucking, selling it). I also have a sealed collectors copy of the 2nd with the plush and a like new play copy of the 2nd. (I prefer these over the Persona games.)

I might pick up spare copies of DDS1 & 2 and Nocturne now, though.
 
I picked up DDS 1, DDS 2, and Nocturne. I've been waiting for these games to drop forever! I actually have sealed copies of DS 1 and 2 (collector's edition). No, I'm not selling them either. Hard to find!

I disagree. I put both DDS1&2 far above any of the Persona games.

But also, it would've been great to have Devil Summoner 1, I think that's the only one of those I don't have.
 
SMT: Nocturne and DDS1+2 are the kind of games that you will play and never forget how great they are. It saddens me that we will never see more games like these in the current or next gen systems because all companies that bring over JRPGs only bring over games like Trinity Universe, Neptunia, Atelier. I would pay lots of money for more press system/turn based games like DDS/Nocturne.
