ummm, no, I never bought any UMDs or DVDs. I used to buy VCDs in the past (I had 3do multiplayer with the video module) now I am either watching my movies on the internet (streaming www.aznv.tv is an example, in the theatre, or DVDs from netflix.)
Of course, there isn't much to look forward to the PSP... not within the next few months anyway.
I'm seeing Burnout Legends in September, Infected in October, and Viewtiful Joe in November and I like what I'm seeing

Me to except for the fact that Sony will force people to do a firmware upgrade so no more emulation till the next firmware gets cracked which could be awhile :\
In Japan they are already requiring firm upgrades with the purchase of Megaman Legends 1 (and 2 when It's out) so I'm sure they'll do the same with the other games.
I've got 3 movies but won't be getting any more. I got for $15 the Resident Evil umd because I wanted to have at least one umd movie. I bought Spiderman from somebody on this site for like 12 and T2 for $10 with a coupon. Notice a trend anyone. Seems like most of us only want to pay like around $10 at most for a umd movie. I think even that is being generous since I can usually buy a new release dvd the day it comes out for $13-$16 usually. I can play that dvd on my tv, on my computer, on my mini dvd player with LCD screen, on my xbox, on my ps2, or even in a car dvd player. I can even download the movie and compress to play on a PDA or the PSP off a flash memory card. With a umd movie I can do what? Play it on my PSP and that is all? What a rip-off. The novelty has worn off for me and many others now. I think we may start to see some clearance umds soon. Besides I don't have room for a ton of movies in my PSP case I bought anyway.
Coded Arms.
It doesn't really bother me. It's like the Xbox Live updates that kill Live if you have a mod chip. People will just write/create new stuff that gets around it.
Besides, the 2.0 functionality is much sexier to me than ROMs.
No but I'm currently in a state of prolonged financial distress and I'm not buying any luxuries that aren't extraordinary bargains. If someone offered me a movie I really liked for $5 or less I might be tempted but I'm not exactly on the lookout.

they have ways around those supposed required updates...
If I can find a UMD version of a movie I want and it is cheaper than the DVD, yes, I'll buy it. I got Spiderman 2 with the psp and I bought appleseed at walmart for ~$13 I don't own any other umd movies.
i'm waiting on Sony to start supporting the UMDs. i'd like to be able to watch Kung Fu Hustle with friends & roommates & family, rather than the homeless on the IT bus system.
