Yeesh, WTF is up with amazon's rates anyway? It's NOT 15% plus $.99 per item, check it:
I just sold a brand new Super Mario Galaxy:
Buyer's Price: $44.99
Shipping Credit: $3.99
Amazon Commission: $
-9.09
Your Earnings: $39.89
Ummmm, 15% of $44.99 is $6.75 ($6.7485 actually). Plus the $.99 fee = $7.75
So why are they taking out an extra $1.34? Even if I threw the $3.99 for shipping and handling on top and took 15% of the total, it would work out to $8.34, NOT $9.09. I haven't been combing over their results too carefully, nor have I been verifying their deposits to my account. I guess that had better change posthaste.
EDIT: I just reconciled the deposits against the records of game sales, and the deposits are in line.
However, I'm not sure why they're taking such a big chunk of the selling price...
DOH! Just figured it all out. I didn't realize there was a FINAL CLOSING FEE as well! It's $1.35 per video game. This must have been added after I started selling, because that is ridiculous.
So they take $.99 per item ("per transaction fee"), 15% of the selling price of the item, and a variable closing fee, for video games it's $1.35. Holy Christ.
Man, ripoff city! And if some scammer hoses you, they won't even back you up.

Amazon collects fees only when your item sells. At that time, Amazon collects your sales price and shipping costs from the buyer, deducts a commission of 6 to 15 percent of the sales price, a per-transaction fee of $0.99, and a variable closing fee. The $0.99 per-transaction fee is waived for
