So I need some new music....

I highly suggest the Arctic Monkeys - Whatever you say I am, that's what I'm not album. I also suggest you get the RHCP - By The Way Album.

The Kooks are awesome, their new album is great. I also suggest the RHCP, pretty much the best band ever.

Brand New-Deja Entendu(second album name) probably on of the best cds I have ever heard
Alkaline Trio-From Here to Infirmary Great punk band with dark lyrics about booze smoking, the chick that got away etc. without being whiny or emo.
Damien Rice- O (cd name) this guys voice is amzing. Its' mostly acoustic guitar and violin(I think) thats very catchy and soulful. Not rock or indie by any means, but everyone I've shared with dug it.
As far as a random cd recommendation goes, check out the Rescue Me OST. Awesome comp of rock thats nice for driving. Let us know what you discover.
korn, limp bizkit, disturbed, slipknot, mudvayne, etc etc
God no! lol. Everyone else: Nice suggestions, Ill have to check some of those out. Im especially interested in the Arctic Monkeys.

second at the drive in. They seriously need to get back together.

Decemberists
The Black Kids
My morning Jacket

cold war kids
black diamond heavies

Peter Bjorn and Paul
Zolof the rock and roll destroyer

as to your tastes of classic rock.. If you've missed them U need to check out Wolfmother they sound like they came out of the 70's
My Morning Jacket
Band of Horses
Iron & Wine

The Raconteurs
Arctic Monkeys (like fudge said)
The Libertines

The White Stripes
Yes.

Arctic Monkeys and Iron and Wine might be good. I don't know about the other people.

All a man needs is Raconteurs and White Stripes.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and recommend the soundtrack from the current Las Vegas' "Phantom" version of Phantom of the Opera (i.e. the version with Brent Barrett and Kristi Holden). The video below starts off slow but around 2 minutes in it should start blowing your ears out.

If you like The White Stripes, definitely check out The Black Keys, most of my friends dig them way more. A two man blues rock band that is awesome.

For newer rock, Queens of the Stone Age is also pretty good.

I'd second Black Keys. Their song "your touch" is classic

I figure if someone can post Postal service and not get flamed then I can post this... (puts on flame suit just in case.)

Also don't be afraid to try out different stuff too. I used to only like rock and hiphop, but now my favorite genre of music is electronic.
My new favorite:
Girl Talk: Night Ripper
Nothing to do with newer/classic rock besides the samples of Boston, Smashing Pumpkins and a few others on the CD. Definitely not for everyone though. ^__^
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!
