Tom Savini,

, he's the person on the right. He has done a lot of cool special effects in movies like Friday the 13th FInal Chapter and Dawn of the Dead. Plus he also had a role in Dusk till Dawn. Just really random stuff, because I doubt most people would recognize him. I was talking to him for a lil bit seemed like a pretty cool guy. Just really random thing that I didnt expect at all.

that's nice and all, but who's the pretty lady to the left?

Seriously though, what was he doing on campus?

there was a festival with bands and carnival type crap, and there was this robot going around talking to people. Apparently his friend created and operated the robot.

Don't know who he is, but I saw spike lee on my campus. I saw a bunch of people following some guy and I couldn't figure out why, until I saw who it was. He was making a speech at my university that day.

Couple years ago he sat ouside one of those temporary halloween costume shops in my local mall. I knew who he was but not one person talked to him. He was sitting at the entrance at a small card table with some woman signing autographs. I felt bad actually.
For those who don't know him, he was on the Simpsons too...

Worst. Episode. Ever.

might help jog your memory. :)
Ahhh I missed the gut buster!
Tom Savini is pretty cool. He was awesome in From Dusk Till Dawn.
That's right! I knew I had seen him before!

There is this great documentary "American Nightmare."

Tom Savini says some really interesting things about how his experiences in Viet Nam as a photographer shaped his special effects work.

The war in Viet Nam came back home in many different ways . . .

My dad actually went to high school with Tom Savini. Tom asked my Dad to produce a monster movie but it never got off the ground. Tom's an awesome guy and deserves all the recognition he gets.

Tom Savini is one of the greatest special effects gurus around. I would say he is definately in the top 5.

lol i thought it was kinda funny how you said you met Tom and then you added that he was the one on the right, even though he's the only guy in the picture.

that is a very good point I guess I didnt even think about that. I guess I should have prob said that the person on the left was not me, that probably would have been more informative.

Oh hey, yeah, I ran into Mark Hamill on campus. He's the one in the picture.

Best celebrity I ever met was Jamie Lee Curtis in a local used game/CD store chain in Pittsburgh called "The Exchange". It was right in the Squirrel Hill Branch as well. I believe it was around two years or so ago in December. She was with family, they came in, all dressed quite nicely (her black dress was quite formal), and she asked one of the clerks for help. In about five minutes she was buying a whole stack of used N64 games (mostly Pokémon-related games but plenty of other must-haves and classics) for next-to-nothing.

Funny thing was that this was a few months after her making some statement that hit some of the gaming magazines that she felt that games had too much sway over children in some way. Interesting, really. Fact of the matter was that she knew which games her children (I assume they were receiving the games) wanted, what was appropriate, and could tell some of the quality from the crap quite well herself. That and she was absolutely hilarious. Very nice, vivacious, and comedic, even when just dropping by a store after some synogogue services.

What's odd is that I did some looking through my dad's high school yearbooks and found out that my dad went to school with Robert Patrick(the T-1000 from Terminator 2). Apparently he was a year behind my dad. Kinda shocking a guy like that came from this area.

I shop at that store all the time great prices on used games/dvds/cds. I guess I have to wait for Jaime Lee next time I am there

Obviously you don't know how to play a guessing game very well, you're supposed to let us guess a few times first before revealing who you met. It's so much more comical that way.
