Yeah, I'm bored.

He says he cashed it at his local Western Union.

Now, shouldnt they know if their own money order is a fake? I mean, the number should be in their system and all.

Not saying this isnt the obvious 419 gameplan, but that part doesn't make too much sense.
Guy's probably just messing around. If not, sucks to be him.
That's what I thought at first, but then he just disappeared and never gave a response.

Believe it or not, WU and even national Big Banks are unable to discern their own MOs and Certified/Cashiers Checks for forgeries until 3-4 weeks after they have been cashed. And that's when they come after you for the money. Dont have it, and they persue you with legal action.

Not cool at all.

There's a guy on the Madison craig's list who can't get rid of a barely used 20gb for $400. I considered buying it but at the rate these things are selling, I might just wait for the price drop.

yep. he got fucked. it's a well known scam for someone to randomly respond to a craigslist add from another country giving you twice what the value of an item is, telling you they're gonna send a money order, and then have you ship it because they "trust" you. and of course, the money order is a fake and you're out a bunch of money and stuff. i put my ipod up on craiglist and got this exact schpiel from some guy claiming to be a doctor from Britain.
Apparently the guy says it was a joke. I didn't think it was.

this guy's an idiot. he's simply trying to cover up for being an even bigger moron. i wanna join this board just to call him on it. i dont think he can call other people stupid if he can't even spell "enough" right

Last year, I had just got promoted and the guy training me was about to wire some dude $1,500 for an ATV. It was on eBay but the seller told him he'd give him a price break and end the auction if he would wire him the money. Plus he wanted the money wired to London and the ATV was in Ohio or some place like that. He was about 2 hours from wiring the money. Lucky for him he told me about it. This is a 30 year old man mine you. Not a little kid or some old man (I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had to stop my grandfather from sending a check to some scam artist). People want to believe anything when they think they are getting a great deal!

It's not a joke unless it's actually funny.

It sounds like this idiot is trying to save face, but really got scammed - or at least cashed the bogus check but didn't send the PS3 yet.
