CAGiversary!
This sale brought out the worst in people. I know I saw just about every game on any list on Saturday, I didn't abuse it. I didn't buy copies of games I already had, even to keep as "backups" or to trade. I'm too cheap to pay $3 on postage to trade a $5 game.
What I'd like to point out is how rabid some people here became over certain tiles. Rez, Disgaea, Viewtiful Joe, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 come immediately to mind. Folks, waht's wrong with you? Why can't you go out and buy these titles if you want them so bad? Okay Rez, semi-hard to find, now impossible to find new. We've been reporting $29.99 findings on this game all through 2004 from either CC or TRU! You want a game so bad you can't afford that? When the eBay value of the game is $49.99-79.99?
Viewtiful Joe and Disgaea have both been out since last August, if I'm not mistaken they came out the same day. So you've had a year to pick them up. Couldn't swing it? Couldn't swing VJ for $29.99 or less at Target, Wal Mart or Best Buy since Christmas? Disgaea... okay, it never dropped in price that anyone knows of until now. However it's scarcity was WELL KNOWN. It was almost like Rez, if you wanted it, you should have gotten it or you'd end up paying through the nose for it. Isn't it being reissued anyways?
MvC2, hell 2-D fighters with any of these controllers on any system don't work well. Interest in this game before Saturday? ZERO! None of you talked about it or wanted it. Yet here it is atop many trade lists. It's been on the $29.99 or $19.99 list many places as well.
I guess more than anything I'm shocked at how few games people buy on an enthusiast site like this. Not everything is going to be $4.99 or $9.99! Don't any of you even pay half price for games? What do you want from publishers and retailers? Sometimes you have to part with money to get what you want. Don't give me "I'm not teh RICH liek U!!1!1" line. $30 isn't going to break anyone, even a teenager living at home mowing lawns for funds or living off of birthday and Christmas/Chaunaka money can swing that. Hell, I see teenagers out on Friday's at the mall or the movies with more disposable cash in their hands than I'll have in a month.
I'm shocked at the greed I've seen exhibited here as many, if not all of us are, on the other hand I'm blown away with how cheap some of you are too.
