Someone else can make a new GameRush thread.

waffles 'n' syrup

CAGiversary!
Wshakspear or CoreyCubed or drfrielgood or someone else that has been a major contributor to the GameRush threads can make the next GameRush thread if the 500 post thing is still going on with the change of boards. You guys can still make a new thread if you want to, and lock this one up.

I'm not sure if I'll be on CAG much anymore. It's just not fun like it was a year ago. I might be here every once in awhile, but I think I'd rather do other things now. CAG isn't what I need to be doing. I should be working hard and focusing on what I need to do in my life.

I'll be sure to check this thread for GameRush deals when new ones start. Thanks for everybodys help in making these GameRush threads so popular. It made me feel like I was doing something to contribute to CAG. :)

WOOOOOOOOAHHHHH NEW LOOK!

So anyway since I last posted with that dusty psp I have since returned that one for a new one. The new one has 2 dead pixels as well as some random ultra tiny dust specks which look like dead pixels only fade away if you tilt the system. I will be exchanging this one wednesday.

I would just like to say lumines totally owns though. even playing it with some dead pixels.

im going in tomorrow to trade:

brute force- 6.50
new legends-8
metal gear solid 2:sons of liberty-6.50
timesplitters-8
logitech wireless controller (anyone know how much this will net)

should cost me around $15 out of pocket for 2 games. need to preorder lockdown and gt4:mobile

Just traded Midnight Club,Sky Odyssey and Gran Turismo 3 all PS2(of course) they were all worth $8 including the $5 bonus. You can stack the deals here at the Highland, Ca. GR. I picked up God of War for $8 out of pocket.

Just traded in 16 games and was able to combine deals so I got alot of credit and preordered eight games for 29.99. I also preordered Fire Emblem Sacred Stones for GC for 29.99 without any type of discount but their computer has Fire Emblem Sacred Stones listed as Gamecube and EB has that title as a GBA game. EB also has the Fire Emblem game for Gamecube for 49.99, but that game isn't listed with any type of subtitle. I think Gamerush has some type of mix-up in their computer. or does anyone know if the GBA and GC are sharing the same subtitle?

Any Gamerushes get in Dynasty Warriors 5 yet?

I rushed out last night to do more trade-ins because of the alleged fax that someone mentioned before (about not allowing double-dipping). I had no problem with it last night. Maybe that was a regional fax or something. There are good points and bad to having only one Gamerush within 200 miles (they don't get the latest info - which can be good or bad!).

I was finally able to preorder Zelda. Hopefully it is the right one and not Windwaker or Four Swords (the clerk said release in Nov., so I'm pretty sure it is the right one - the manager several days ago said he only had WW and FS in the system). I also picked up Untold Legends and took a chance and preordered Death Jr (I've read one blurb about it that seemed positive) since I couldn't think of anything else to preorder. I might go back and do a few of the Fall release PS2 games, or maybe Advance Wars or Fire Emblem (though the mixup with the GBA version menioned above might scare me off of that). This deal is so sweet - basically, I couldn't justify having my PSP without the ability to get the games for $30 (with even less, an average of $15, out of pocket). Does anyone know if Mario Baseball is in the system?

What was cool was that on Sunday I went in and glanced through the used games like usual, not expecting to find much. Up till now, there had been total crap there - mostly used rentals in beat up cases. Well, I found 2 (TWO) copies of Suikoden III. I checked them both out and one was a bit scratched so I left it but got the other, near-mint, one. The scratched up one was gone when I went in yesterday. What shocks me is that is seems likely someone traded both in at the same time, since neither was there just a day or two before. Very odd.

Another thing that I discovered (probably old news to most of you but I'm fairly new to the used game and trading process) is that I can simply swap them out the crappy blockbuster cases that they put everything in for my brand new (Target or TRU game) games that I plan to trade in later. So my Suikoden III looks minty fresh now. They are going to trash the brand new cases anyway, so I'll just give them their lockable cases back. I wish I had though of this earlier - I could have refreshed several of my Gamecube game cases!

One down note - I asked another clerk on my way out if I could have any of the game cases they get for tradeins (I know for a fact that they trash at least some of them - I saw them through the clear garbage bag one of the employees was carting outside). Eventually I will run out of things to trade in so I had wanted some nice cases for things I buy from there. He said (very dismissively) "Sorry - we use them for rental displays". Total BS - time to get more copies of Powerpuff Girls Relish Rampage from TRU for revenge :) I will ask my local non-GR Blockbuster if they have any cases (I know I've provided them with several!).

Just called mine, they are in! I am going after work to pick it up!
damn, im hoping my GR gets chaos theory today
I went to Blockbuster today, alas I don't have a GR near me, but I did get some decent trade-ins; all include extra $5

GBA- Sword of Mana 10$
GBA- Namco Museum 9$
GBA- Fire Emblem 14$
GBA- Konami Collectors Series Arcade Advanced 6.50$
GCN- Auto Modellisat 25$!!!
GCN- Star Fox Assault 40$!
GCN- NCAA 2004 13$
GCN- Madden 2004 8$
PS2- R-type Final 15$

total credit with taxes etc. is 147.53!!

Shame you can't use this online...

So now I have 150 bucks in store credit and I want a DS and damn if BB doesn't sell hardware...

Does anyone know the trade in value of Haven(Ps2)

Space Invaders(Gba)
Dragonball z Taiketsu(Gba)
Max Payne(ps2)

Thx for any help you guys can provide.

FYI: (Prices are with the $5 bonus)
Traded in
-Sly 2 $23 (Got from the PSU Promotion, had a hole, they accepted it...though they had strange looks...no questions though...she just said "I just won't ask about why/how the holes got there....)
-Hot Shots Golf Fore $19
-Bombastic $8
-Mad Maestro $6.50

I'm guessing $1 without the extra $5 bonus. Because they sell the game for $4.99 used. So it probably doesn't quality for the $5 extra when you trade in 3, just like Fantavision.

So, does anyone have the ability to get an updated list of games that are available for PRE-ORDER?

I want to pre-order more if they let me double dip...if not, I'll trade my cheap-ass games in and get my extra $15 total.

Picked up God Of War yesterday

Traded in
MGS3: Snake Eater - $20
Star Wars Battlefront (XB) - $25

No $5 extra. I don't see the point in getting the extra $5 per game (if you can't double dip) unless you're not planning on getting a game or pre-order that day. I think you save more.

Yep, you technically save more by pre-ordering if you cannot double dip....$15 extra w/trade 3 or $20 off with trade 2. However, some people like to build up credit with the trade 3. Especially if you pick up the games cheaper than $5 at EBGames.

I will try to double dip...if not, I'm just trading in.
Any Gamerushes get in Dynasty Warriors 5 yet?
I just stopped by the McDermott & Alma GR earlier and they had about 5 copies of Dynasty Warriors 5 sitting on a cabinet behind the counter.

Just a heads up. King of Fighters: Maximum Impact is worth $25 before the extra $5. If you have a Meijer's nearby, they sell it for $10. That's a pretty good way to build up credit/get new games for cheap.

the $5 per game is frequently better if you take into account that you can often get the new / po game for $35 to 40 at Fry's or even Best Buy, CC etc.
do they call you when they get the pre order in?
I never got any call, so it's YMMV depending on the store.

Traded these in today, including extra $5:

Tenchu: Return to Darkness XBox - $13
Auto Modellista PS2 - $10
Life Line - $13
Hitman 2 PS2 - $13
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - $16

More trades (After $5 bonus)

PS2:
x-squad - 8
Pryzm Chapter One - 6.50
Max Payne - 6.50
Stuntman -8.00
Portal Runner - 1.00 (wouldn't add the 5 because they only sell it for 4.99, I probably should've kept it to pre-order something with though)
Virtua Fighter 4 - 8
Blowout - 6.50
World Destruction League - 6.50
Wild Arms 3 - 12.00
2x 3rd Party Contoller - 4 each

Xbox- Turok - 6.50

The 3 closest will Be Stow, Macedonia and Cuhoyaga Falls OH - can any CAGs give me scouting reports on these stores?

Hey, where ya movin to? I'm in Kent. Now I have someone to compete with CAG style ;) The Macedonia store is awesome. The staff actually play tons of games and are really nice and helpful. They will sit around and talk to you on end about games if you want, it's great. Their PSX/64 and back selection is kinda dead aside from their massive amounts of NES games but their current gen games and accessories is far and away the best of the three. Accessories the best of any GR I've been to as well. They are in a nice busy area so they get a lot of good trade ins. Double dipping is ok here and two of the workers "tipped me off" about flipping and how to do it. Of course I didn't mention that's how I got the 120 left on my card. So yeah great store, wish it was closer.

The Stow store is ok. While the selection of used games(any gen), I'd say, the second worst I've seen and I hit almost all of the GR stores in NE Ohio when the Any Preowned for $10 and 3 trades + TRU coupon thing was going on. Best thing I've found was Star Ocean 2 and Xenogears for $6. The manager said they never get anything good which I can imagine because it's not a really good spot for a store IMO. The workers aren't the most knowledgeable aside from two or three guys but they are all nice and helpful. The manager lets me double dip deals now but didn't at first and turned my friend down for double dipping so I guess if you become a regular he will do it for you.

The Cuyahoga Falls one is a little better in selection though I cleaned out their good PSX games when the 5/$20 came about. Only the manager really seems to know what's up. It's the most apathetic roster of GR/BB employees I've seen. One of the main GR guys is pretty condescending most of the time too which gets old really fast. They seem to have a limitless supply of used Shadow Hearts at least beacuse every time I've been there different condition games are there. No double dipping or anything here ever. The manager is really by the book.

Hmmm... the GameRush site lists no stores within 25 miles, but when I went to trade in games a few months back, they said to stop by before the end of the month (this was Jan/Feb), and they were going to begin trading in games.

Does anyone know if some of these deals (i.e. $5 extra per game when trading in 3 + PS2, etc) are valid at regular BB stores?

Is the store in Macedonia really cool about double dipping or is it just those 2 cool guys that work there. I am in the Cleveland area and my GR started doing the double dip, but because of some serious abuse, corporate shut them down (and ended up firing some employees in the process, or so the story goes). So, of course, now I'm looking for another GR, so Macedonia may be it. Figured I'd ask.

Respect Wu!!!!

Unless they got a new manager recently anyone should do it. There were no GR people last I went and the girl at the counter asked me if I wanted to combine the deals because I save more money. Unless some other CAGer came in and confused her earlier in the day with the sharp tongued cheap ass skills we have developed my money is on it being normal. Pretty sure the main guy I've dealt with is the manager because he was telling people stuff to do and stock etc so I'd say it is a safe bet.

Just thought I would add my experience in to help anyone.

Went to the GR in Corona CA, off Lincoln. They would not allow me to combine deals, but did allow me to get Doom 3: CE with the $30 trade-in deals.

Took my games over to the GR in Riverside, off La Sierra. The guy happily let me combine both deals, never even took a second to think about it.

I traded in 11 games total (one was a memory card)

Left with:
Doom 3: CE
Area 51
Pariah
RB-6 Lockdown
DF:Black Hawk Down

2 bags of popcorn
2 boxes of candy

Everything fully paid for and I still have $1 in credit. :)

Hey DarkCovers, thanx for sharing! I'm in the Inland Empire as well,in Highland, next to Redlands. We have a GR here with very cool employees.

Oh cool, nice to see some other people from the IE. I have tons of family that live out in Redlands, was just out there this Sunday for a barbecue.

Forgot to mention the prices I got for some of the games.

With $5 extra added:

Crimson Skies $13
GTA: SA $30
PS2 Memory Card $12 (3rd party)
Advance Wars 2 $10
GR:IT $13
Blowout $6.50
Thief $17.50

Can't remember the rest of the prices.

Well, no luck for double dip AGAIN at the GR in Harrison Township, MI. I did it once, but it was the first day of the deal and I think the girl was training.....

Anyways, traded in 3 games...got my $5 extra for now.
Test Drive:Eve of Destruction $18 ($23 w/bonus)
+ two $1.50 ($6.50 games)

I still have two or 3 more games to trade....so I'll preorder one more.

Hey, Dr. Frielgood, any idea of when you might work next? I have a few games to trade in, and not much free time to get up there.
