Nah, I'm a monster. This guy is the freaking Emerald Weapon in FFVII.

How fast is he? I can't see his size helping much if the opponent can land 3 punches to his 1.
I can just imagine that guy in PRIDE or UFC, he's too damn big to take down!
Actually, back in the days of when UFC was real (when you could only see it on pay per view) there was a guy named Paul Varlens who's dimensions were very similar to this guy and he was taken down by a much smaller guy named Oleg Taktarov. The Taktarov guy (who seemed like he couldnt feel pain) just kept kicking Varlens left leg and sorta jumping away .. he kept doing that until the point that Varlens collapsed on his left side and fell to the ground and then Taktarov just beat the shit out of him. Barrett, of course, wont have the luxury of kicking so I can imagine he'll have only one option for success .. and thats stay as close as humanly possible to Valuev at all times.

I've seen video of him fighting in Russia and for his size he's suprisingly fast. I'd love to see him fight Lennox Lewis. That might be the only person that will be able to take him down.

Holy crap. I don't know that much about boxing regulations but what are the classes? The 110 lbs. weight difference seems a bit much.

I don't believe the heavyweight class has an upper limit.

Gotta give Barrett credit, I thought he was going to get anihilated in the early goings. He did well to last as long as he did.

What exactly happened in the fight? I can't find any results online.

Don't you think people are expecting to see Rocky whack this bum out?

Is it on youtube yet? I'll settle for one round. If boxing has no upper weight limit, then I could box. I could be just like Homer Simpson when he boxed. On the plus side, I'm fat and like beer as well.
Wow.. that was on dull fight.
Yeah, I stopped watching after halfway through the 4th round. They might as well have kissed each other with all that hugging/clinching going on.

That was mostly Barrett but he kind of had to.

Valuev won all the rounds except two or three. There was a lot of clinching. Barrett did get some good shots in but they didn't really seem to faze the Russian at all. It was a slow fight, but in the end Barrett was about to get destroyed and his trainer stepped in.

And strangely enough I could have sworn I heard a Rocky chant during the fight.

Paul Varelans was 6'8, and he's never fought Taktarov. You're thinking of when he fought Marco Ruas at UFC 7. I believe that was Marco's first fight in the UFC, and it was very impressive. Like you said, Ruas kept cutting away at Varelans with leg kicks. Pretty nasty because you could see the swelling and bruising all up and down his thigh.

I also remember his fight with Kimo. Kimo was able to beat him due to Varelans gassing towards the end of the fight. But for the first few rounds, Kimo barely survived.

There's another big-ass fighter in Pride now - The Giant Silva, who stands at 7'2 and weighs 385 pounds. Yeah, 385 pounds of suck ass. He has a 1-6 MMA record. He's just too tall and slow that opposing fighters shoot in on him easily and usually submit him or G&P his ass.

See him here - http://youtube.com/results?search_query=giant+silva+&search=Search

Ahh yes I remember that now. That was the dude that everyone hated cause he stepped on the chest of a guy that was knocked out.

And yeah that fight with Valuev last night was not very impressive. Valuev doesnt seem to go for the knockouts but he's excellent as a methodical technical boxer .. he landed 44% percent of his punches and nearly the same percentage of power punches. Monty Barrett on the other hand was just swinging wildly and when he did connect it seemed to have absolutely no effect.
This guy puts Ivan Drago to shame. We need Rocky to take the bum out. USA! USA! USA!
I was thinking the same, this dude would have made a badass villian in the new rocky.

Caught the end of that just by chance last night. Don't have HBO at home, but was in a hotel room.

Damn that guy looks like a freaking monster. Really entertaining fight (at least the last 2 rounds that I saw.)

yeah, i caught the fight last night with a few friends. Mostly boxing bores me, but with friends to discuss it, its really interesting.

I actually thought the first fight between Adamek and Briggs was more interesting
