Sony's started a new iteration of their Buy 2 Get 1 Free mail-in offer, this time valid on purchases made 3/16/08-4/17/08. Buy any 2 from list and receive 1 in the mail after $2.99 shipping fee. Requests must be made by 5/1/08.

Oddly enough, I just checked on their site for mine, and it shows the following for the Jan 2 submission:

Your SONY PICTURES FREE BLU RAY HD MOVIE JANUARY 2 offer was received on 3/25/2008 , processed on 4/2/2008 and is pending Final Audit.

I guess that means I should be getting one of the three from the prior "TaxForm" rebate (which is how they called it on the PDF form name).

Something I found in some random Google searches about them:

Yep, that's the same address as I used in the new rebate as well. Good luck, let me know if yours goes through. There's been a bunch of reports around the internet of people having the same problem I had with this newest rebate. I think Sony might have closed it down early.

Uh oh, my sub isn't coming up either anymore...however, I saved a direct link to my submission, and it might be cached into your 'net history, but it comes up that way. I don't think this rebate is going to come through.

In light of the fact that they're refusing submissions without even opening them and people can't track their submissions anymore, I'm guessing they pulled the plug on this. Very upsetting. :(

shrike, that info is correct. I've called them a few times, but be prepared to spend quite a bit of time waiting until someone in CS is ready to talk to you.

Thanks! Is this the person I should, do you think, since my last rebate was not only rejected, but returned to sender without being opened?

EDIT: I just emailed the guy with details and will update once I get a response. I might try calling today as well if I have time.
 
So I've been monitoring highdefdigest.com's forum as well on this, and many of them have also had their rebate requests returned completely unopened. Doesn't look good. Plus, the tristar fulfillment number connects you to someone from Samsung who says they don't know anything about this offer.
 
Back to Final Audit as well on the Jan 20 - whenever rebate offer.
Anyhow, I'll find the number that I have and I'll share...as the number if it goes to Samsung is incorrect.

The current one that is ending in April is the one that is being returned. I haven't seen anyone have any problems on any of the previous rebate offers.
 
I posted this on another forum but I am interested in (and quite frankly, trust CAG over the other place) you guys' thoughts on a possible issue I might have with this promotion.

I just bought Dogma today, and I purchased 30 Days of Night in early March. I don't have a receipt for 30 Days, but could I print out the Amazon receipt that is available on my account on the site? Showing that I did indeed I buy it, but just not show the date of when I purchased it on the slip? Would that work you think? I'm probably going to do it anyway (what's the harm in trying?)

On the last promotion I managed to use Casino Royale priced at "$0.00" (from the TRU BOGO) and RE Trilogy for Extinction, so they seem to be pretty lenient on this as long as you have the check and the two proofs of purchase.
 
In hindsight, it was really stupid to go in on a rebate for a "free" item when it requires a check for a few dollars. I can totally picture my movies still not being here in a few months even though they already cashed both checks (and I even used different addresses). Will never do one of these deals again.

Ah...damn it. I just purposely bought 2 movies off that list last week to get in on this rebate...I hope it works.

I'm sending mine out tomorrow, one with a printed Amazon receipt and one that came with the mail package, hopefully I'll get the free movie, I'm liking these Sony promotions quite a bit.
 
My Jan. 20 rebate submission just took another step. Apparently the Blu-Ray rebate finally went through final rebate, and it records a ship date of yesterday. Hopefully, I get Damages....but at this point just thankful that I got anything. What a pain in the arse this was. Will report when the BR gets here.
 
So anyone been successful with this rebate...we got 2 more days and I'm not sure if I should open my movies or return them and rebuy them cheaper at a later time.

The previous one I sent in around a week or so after I received them, which was around 02/18 or so for it to be sent out. I think it took them a month's time from when it was received to show up on the website as received, as it showed a received date of 03/25.
 
Guess I'll take my chances then...even if I return them to Amazon I'd get charged shipping so I might as well keep them and try to go for the rebate.

I sent in my stuff for the latest deal in on March 31. I never got it returned by the USPS like some, and never got an e-mail from them, but I see they cashed my check on April 18.
I get errors whenever I try to look up my status on http://checkmyrebate.com/RebateLookup.asp
Hopefully it won't take another month to get Gattaca (assuming they send first choice). When I did the very first one of these offers they had, I received my disc really quick--the whole thing took like 3 weeks, and I got an e-mail when they received my items and another when they sent my disc out. Not sure why they are so much slower now, and I di not get any communication from them.

No sign of the rebate on the website for this submission, though from past history on the 2nd submission, they cashed the check weeks in advance before it showed up on the website. Don't be surprised if don't see anything on the website for this submission for a while, could be weeks or a month.

I'll have to call them (them being TriStar Fulfillment) (phone # being 800-633-9177) and ask them to change my choices to 30 Days Of Night (1st), The Water Horse (2nd) and Across The Universe (3rd). Hope they can, as I don't want a 2nd copy of Superbad. Plus, ask them if anyone received CE as their choice, as I'm thinking they might have ignored that or "not had it available". :roll:

And it's off to go buy CE from Amazon.com, as I really wanted that from the 2nd promotion.
 
I just mailed mine in on 04-10... and the check for $2.99 cleared today 04-25... nothing listed on the website but at least I know it's been accepted! now let's hope they send selection number 1 (although I'll be content with any of the 3 choices!)

I didn't even know that damages was a good show until it was too late. should have checked damages.

After getting mine returned in the beginning of April and then resubmitting around April 11, they finally cashed my check on April 28. But my status is nowhere to be found on checkmyrebate.com. Oh well, hope I get something.

Let me know if they tell you anything after you call them since I'm in roughly the same boat.
 
sounds like a lot of us are in that boat! my check cleared on 04-25 and there's still no indication on the checkmyrebate website... so I called the toll free number this morning... held quite a while... then got a friendly girl who tried to find my order... after a long search she said she could find NO record of it! so she took down my information - what movies I bought, what movies I requested, where I bought my movies, my check number, etc... and said she would pursue it further... even gave me her name & extension to call back in a week or so...

very strange!
