Sony Playstation Home - Gen. Discussion & Info - Open Beta Available Now
Just got an invite. Download is the slowest PSN download I've ever had. 4MB in like 10 minutes.
I was actually thinking the opposite...this was the fastest I've ever DL'd anything from the PSN. Weird.
Um...is it just me or did they take away the Home Game Spaces? Or do I have to put the disc in to see those now?
Is that like the Uncharted Bar and stuff? I was looking for that, too.
No invite for me. As many know, I've been a PS Underground Member since 1996, but I rarely have luck with betas and such.
Should have shown up for GTA4 on Wednesday!

Well I spent about an hour or so in it. To me it seems like what I did in Jeuno in FFXI. Walk around and do nothing. Which I did a lot of.. It was a cool concept, but I don't really see it going anywhere if it's basically what amounts to an interactive XMB for me.

lol wtf is this? I jus checked my email and it said I'm invited to the beta.

haha I have no idea what this is, does any1 want my code?

They must have sent out a ton of them because I got the e-mail invite today as well. My wife has been wanting this for a while so she'll be happy to see it.

According to some NeoGaf post, 2 levels each of a few Namco Museum games are coming to Home, including Pac-Man and Dig Dug. I don't know if that's for the US as well or not.

Definitely a lot of people compared to a couple of weeks ago.

Tip: Do not make a female avatar unless you want to get hit on via PMs all the time. Really? People think hitting on female avatars works?

This is straight up CSI New York. Which one of you is the killar?

I didn't get a Invite either. Anybody wanna help a CAG out and give me a code? (yah i know, give sounds so mean lol) I really wanted to play this since It has been in beta :(

How long is this beta open for? I just sent my PS3 in servicing, and if beta closes before I get my system back, I'd rather just give the code away. I also notice that it says to login during 6pm-8pm (EST?, PST?), so does that mean you can't use it outside of those hours?

I think we're basically in until it goes live at this point... they just wanted a stress test, but it seems like they're just opening it up to more and more people in controlled blasts to make sure the servers are up to it.

I got an invite, thought it was alright. Went to the plaza and was dancing most of the time, me and three other guys and two girls were doing the running man in a circle, lol.

Spent most of my time bowling, which plays alright. Pool, on the other hand, just isn't very good. It lacks precision. As it stands, Home is sparse. There's just not a whole lot to it.

I can't actually connect. I don't know if it is a problem on my end or on Sony's end (especially since this beta is mostly for server tests)

Oh well I'll have to give it a shot again tomorrow. I've waited this long, I can wait another night.

Servers went down a little while ago to update.

Home spaces aren't in this version. They said they'll be back soon. Maybe after this update.

One of the opening screens mentions the game spaces will be back soon.

I had some laughs, but there's really not much to do. They really should stop showing it to people. After a lot of people started showing up in the town square, it was just a bunch of guys taunting some girl about how she's not a girl, obviously trying to get her to send some pics, in the saddest way possible.
Man no Socom Game Launching. I also couldnt find the Game Spaces either. A
Yeah I think Warhawk is the only game launching supported now. I tried it with one guy to test it out and the launching works pretty well, you pick all your game server info in home and it pretty much boots up right into the server. I'm not sure if other people can join your game after it started or not but when you quit the game it takes you back to Home.
Anyone else wants to try to set up a larger Warhawk game thru home, add me to your list. :)

Yep, I was just playing around with it. After 5 minutes of goofing off, it's just kind like, "Ok, so what's the point of this?" By the way, within 15 seconds of going to the plaza or whatever, I saw a female avatar (more than likely a guy) saying, "I'll cyber with both of y'all."

The best thing about Home so far is how pretty much everyone is wearing the same shirt as me. Also has anyone gotten their avatar to not look like some vapid douchebag? Maybe it's just the way he walks.

Home has the worst create-a-character ever. I hope way more features and such are added. The hairstyles and facial hair options were abysmal.

That being said, it was kinda fun to bowl and chat with a few friends. Seems like a glorified chat room, but if we get online to chat, we may as well bowl or play pool while chatting.

Rig, I dare you to take a female avatar. I only saw one other one today. Then we can play chess (in the mall) and look awesome.

Still not in.

This would be perfect for my request of adding board games to PSN (a la settlers of catan or whatever it was called when translated for xbla). Just have it so that you need to own the game to play in home, but allow public games where others can watch/talk (see if they want to buy the game) I could see some small tournaments developing if you have 3 or four tables in the same area - maybe even have home initiate tournaments and give out prizes.

A stadium where you can watch that crazy car soccer game would be cool too (I want to buy the game but have a feeling nobody will be playing)

I thought the character customization was pretty deep. Sure they need more clothes and facial hair, but the facial customization is all there. Everyone should be able to make an accurate representation of themselves.

Did anyone figure out how to join the Home CAG club? I did a search for it and I think I added to it, but I'm not sure if I got in or if I needed to be approved or not.

Agreed, the face options are really detailed. You should be able to make anybody with it.

All the other options that seem skimpy like facial hair, clothes, etc, that should be more fleshed out in the final release.
