Sony to stop controversial CD software

Its probably the result of a virus that was released this week that exploited rootkit. They're probably worried about liability and lawsuits.
 
Sony should just go bankrupt already. Innovation in their eyes means failure in the real world. Vaio, mini-disk, UMD, countless movies with the exception of Spiderman.

Nothing like potential lawsuits to adjust the attitudes of a company.
 
Good Riddance. Now if only they would do this to all DRM and it would be a better world. Strike one (or is it ten) against Sony.
 
I looked at the Sony discs listed that had this and just laughed. Like who would want to copy any of them?

The nice thing is I'm on a Mac and there's no way in hell I'd allow permission for any music or DVD to install anything on my machine.
