Sopranos - Series Finale Discussion

Who the heck was that girl Tony hooked up with in Vegas? Obviously, she was acquainted with Christopher, but I don't remember the show ever making reference to her in the past. Does it even matter? I'm not sure what she has to do with the story at all. She was hot, though.

Could that whole Vegas scene have been another dream sequence? What did Tony mean when he shouted "I get it"?

AJ may not be as comfortable with his new "friends" as I once thought...
She was hot, though.
She single-handedly made up for 3 seasons of crap. Even my wife was like "wow, she's hot" - too bad no real nakedness though. There's just no way James Gandolfini didn't bust a nut during that scene unless he just beat off like 5 times in anticipation of the scene.

That scene was awesome when she rolled off Tony and onto her back. Her body is flippin' smokin'! And when she was wearing those little cut-off jean shorts?! Forget about it!!! I previously thought that the real estate lady was the hottest p.o.a. on the show, but now it's this Sonya chick.
She was hot as hell. We all have to find a way to bang her.
:D I tried to find her name in the credits this episode, but I couldn't remember her character's name at the time. Anybody catch her real name?

I just remembered something: where the fuck has Artie Bucco been this season? Has he even been in one episode?

he was in this past one but i think the reason he and tonys old driver/bodyguard( the kid he beat up ) was due to some legal troubles they had during filming the season. i think artie got in trouble of drugs mayb cocaine and the black guy i think broke into someones place to use a pool or something i cant recall exactly so dont quote me on that but as i recall this stuff happened during the last season being on tv.

he gets why this season and most of its episodes suck and he understands its too late to change any of it so it is what it is.

You are correct, sir:

To me, when Tony saw the sun glare at him over the mountains, it looked like he was making a connection between that and the big beacon of light he kept seeing in the distance when he was in the coma. Whatever it is that he "gets" I have no idea, but apparently he has figured out the meaning of his dream.

As for A.J., everybody wants him to follow in Tony's footsteps but it'll never happen. A.J. is really just a spoiled rich kid and a bit of a pussy as well. He doesn't have the killer instinct, ambition, brains, or balls to be a boss or even a low level guy.

I really hope AJ kills himself just fucking do it. Tony should get his son killed. Rather have him die via gunshot then suicide. Less shame for the family.

Tony Soprano with the elevated American History X curb stomp for the win.

Tony take peyote in the desert "our moms are the bus." Someone been listening to the doors a little to much.
The shows going to end in a small mob war. All the NY people taking out the Jersey people. So they can take over Jersey.

this episode was good enough. deinetly has me hyped up for the big blow out last 2 episodes but he was an idiot to kill chris cause he could use the help. also it sounds like there could be a traitor in their ranks ( my bet is bobby or that guy who took over vitos business). overall not too shabby im still not clear on why that guy did what he did to meadow but his beatdown was awesome. good to see tony puttin that touchy feely shit to the side and kickin some ass.

There has so far never been an all out mob war, every time the show gets close, something happens to disrupt it. Remeber when Johnny Sack and Tony were about to go at it, when the FBI grabbed Johnny?

My guess is that Patsy is working for the Feds, and thats how the show ends. They haven't mentioned anything FBI related since the end of Adrianna, and I really doubt they just stopped looking for informants.

no i thought when they met up they had already decided to end all hostilities and then the feds showed up. yeah a mob war is a good way to go since like you said its never out and out happened itll be interesting to see how far they go with it ( meaning are families out or will they be aloowed targets). heres hopin nj gets smart and brings back furio for some added muscle.

I don't think they will be a mob war but more of an all out assassination of the Jersey higher ups.

Wow, good call. Maybe that why
he's so hell-bent on getting his and Tony's family together for dinner? Now that Meadow is dating his son, it would be that much easier for him to gather intel.

Best episode in a long time, by the way. Edie Falco is just fucking brilliant. Quite the emotional episode this week.

I thought it was another good one. I couldn't stop laughing when they showed Sil reading "How to clean practically anything".

The next to episodes are going to be explosive, as per the previews available on youtube and such.

Very interesting predictions on the HBO forums too, every facet of the sopranos is covered

 That was pretty funny. I also love how he is always dressed to the nines, while almost everyone else is in sweatsuits or business casual.

I don't have a link, but I read on a blog somewhere that Steven Van Zandt was quoted as saying that because of what happens in the next two episodes, a Sopranos movie would be "impossible" unless it's a prequel. I guess that should give you some idea as to what happens.

Also, there's a rumor floating around that Meadow gets shot in a case of mistaken identity. But its just a rumor.

A friend of mine from Rutgers used be a PA on the show a few seasons back, so I knew all the plot details about Tony and the horse and what happened to Joe Pantiliano's character. Too bad my friend had to go get a real job, huh?

MOB WAR!!!

Tony is going to die. Plain, and simple.

The biggest problem I have with what I think is going to happen is that every mob movie ends with the main characters dying via other families or going to jail via rats. So in a way its a cop out way to end it.

Pretty decent episode. I thought it was interesting how they tried to squeeze in all the cast members in this episode. The only people missing were Junior and Ginny Sacrimoni.

Finale is going to be CRAZY next week!

you have to feel bad for him though with his son being a total pussy and all hes got nobody to take over. had he not killed. in the end if tony does die he reaps what he sows because if he hadnt killed off so many people close to him or protected them better or not run them off hed have been unstoppable. people like his cousins tony, christopher, big pussy, vito ,ralphie and furio could have made all the difference in thsi war.

furio wouldnt have botched the hit hed have found phil and taken him out but as is hes killed off all of his tops guys or lost them due to his own paranoia or greed or anger.and nows hes left with the scraps. im still hopeful for meadow to do something which btw wtf happened to that guy chris was friends with? the guy from doogie howser im surprised he wasnt there to help out. oh yeah the guy who hung himself would have been a good ally too and maybe little pauley too.

but if this hit is an indication of who things will be then yeah tonys dead. hed never have let something like this happen before and now shits just gone downhill and he got lazy.

They kind of drove that point home when they were talking about killing the top 3 and Bobby was mentioned as being one of them. One of the guys laughed and said something about him being Junior's driver. That and Patsy leaving Sil to die really showed how weak the Soprano crew had gotten.

Sil getting taken out really solidified that this is indeed the end. I really want Phil to go in the last episode.

Anyway, I don't think the last one is extended.

I really got the feeling in the last episode that their setting Paulie up for some kind of grand redemption. I think he may wind up being a hero next week, either that or he takes over once the dust settles.

He's pretty much next in line, anyways. I can see him going absolutely apeshit during a gun battle. I giggled when everyone else is using pistols to take out each other, and Tony has a big-ass assault rifle with him.

Why didn't Sil have his gun in his lap instead of in his briefcase in the back seat? I felt better for Tony when his guys stuck with him in the end - Paulie saying "Where do I got to go"and his driver saying he'll stay. I think Phil will get whacked --- at least I'm hoping...

One of many possible rumor spoilers that caught my attn-
Carm blows up, as in kaboom over with no time to speculate that we didnt see her head blow off, burnt to a crisp good old fashion remote control bomb. It is witnessed by aj and meadow, who are on there way to a safe house, at this point aj finaly steps up, knowing his father is outmatched with little muscle left. I can hear you all ready saying aj couldnt kill himself how the hell can he kill someone else. this has been in his destiny, he will help his father. Meadow will fade to black as tony orders her off with janice and she ggives him a mouthfull about how she knew he killed that man when they went to college s1 ep 5? and he is the devil, blah blah blah. that will be the end of meadow and janice. Tony and his lowly crew with new members aj, and pat jr. will develop a plan, Tony is called to a sit down with a mafia boss we have never met or ever heard of, which I felt was kinda lame, and tony smells it out. paulie walnuts comes up with the info of where phil is (some cabin) and sends benny and aj to handle it. benny kills phil at a gas station, also alternate version of aj killing phil was left on the cutting board. Tony and paulie wipe out the remaing crew, with only carmine jr. remaing to deal with after aget harris plays him a tape of carmine and phil discussing why the hit on tony didnt go down when carmine brought him to phils houe ( phils voice saying cooler heads have prevailed was phil telling carmine the hit was off) when aj returns his father is ready for a father son mafia moment and aj is having none of it, agent harris who is acting on intelegence that tony is going to kill carmine goes to discourage him, and walks in on AJ with glock loaded pointed at tony. he tells tony that he killed his mom, bobby, jackie jr, and god knows who else and the killing stops today. before he can squeese the trigger angent harris fires a shot and hits aj in the chest, tony screams and runs to aj who dies in his arms simalar to after his sucide attempt. in the end tony is by himself, no where to go. The final scene is melfi reading it all in a newspaper at a ice cream parlor. the end.

I couldn't stop myself from reading that.:bomb: Oh well. We'll find out what happens in 5 days!
Even if you read it, and that really did happen, you know its gonna be good to watch anyways.
Tru dat! I'm pretty fired up after last week. I will be kinda sad, too. There won't be anything else on HBO for me to watch after Sunday, other than "Entourage".

The shit they did in the last episode they could have spread otu through the whole fucking series instead of throwing in bs storylines that really didnt have much to do with the "family". Thats the kind of action they needed and they didnt have so I stopped watching.

wow if that happens that that could be an awesome episode.
carm is the glue that holds them together so yeah itd make sense to get to her to fuck with tony but i could see aj stepping up after his mom dies since theyre so close. and yeah i could never get why tony trusted carmine anyway he was and has been a pussy this whole time and everyone knew it so why trust him? his own dad didnt have respect for him ( funny the parallel between him and aj).

I finally caught up from last week. It was a pretty good episode I guess - too bad about Sil. The best line was when Tony burst into AJ's room and said "but what were you doing? Nothin." That was pretty funny.

my favorite part was when the Raging Bull music came on and they slow-motioned boxed... that might be my favorite part ever in Sopranos history
my favorite part was when the Raging Bull music came on and they slow-motioned boxed... that might be my favorite part ever in Sopranos history
I was trying to remember which movie that scene was from. For some reason, I kept thinking "Rocky".

Well I think maybe......

It's obvious that one of the 4 will die think back when Tony told her to go he said " you know they never touch Families" and Carm is a good one to kill off it would push Meadow away. A.J. then will go into the Family business because of her death. Remember this whole emo trip is because he thinks "it's all for nothing" so now he has a reason. Were I step back is Harris killing A.J. that seems to far out it could happen I just don't see Harris Killing A.J. just to save Tony, come on Harris almost didn't tell Tony about the hit. But I have always thought Tony would live but get out some how.

I also have always thought Tony would live and get out too. Maybe Carmella will get killed, Meadow will run away, AJ will get killed trying to be something he's not (a gangster) and Tony will end up in the witness protection program - alone.

The flashback at the end with Bobby and Tony on the boat was great, especially since the rifle Tony had was the one Bobby gave to him for his Birthday in the first episode after the hiatus.

I'm not too worked up about the ending though, I've distanced myself emotionally from the show after what they did to Christopher, that shit was unforgivable as far as I'm concerned. I was hoping they'd go all out and do a 90 minute or so finale but it looks like we're SOL on that front.

I have to disagree with you about Chris' death one of the better Oh Shit moments of the show.
