SoulCalibur IV - (10.17.08) - Vader/Yoda DLC set to release on 10/23 [400 points]

I love some of the new joke weapons. Hula hoop is way better than whatever Tira had in SC3. I can't even remember what it was.

Also... magical sausage??

eh i guess it is title worthy. And ya those joke weapons are awesome. Cassie has a bread roller, magical sausage, and hula hoop. Funny.

Man I can't wait for this game. I am leaving my work this week as well. So as long as we get our shipment early, I am breaking street date for myself.

Hilde has a golf tee and club. I may just have to play her for that.
too bad that scan is from the march issue of game informer so therefore invalid. These however, are new and from the strategy guide. Too many and too big to post as pictures. And no character shown next to vader. Looks like we got some DLC.
Eh? Doesn't that kind of indicate the same thing?

So if Vader/Yoda were sent cross-platform (and considering it's Bandai-Namco) how much do you think those two would cost?

Also, I'm surprised hackers haven't found out if Yoda/Vader are both on the same disc yet. You'd think it'd be something people would want to know.

Even though all this stuff is being revealed, I'm just about as excited for this game as I was DJFFNY. But just like that game, the data could still be on the disk just to be there, DMX was in the game code for FFNY too....
yeah, since nobody who's had the game for a while now has it unlocked it's gotta be DLC. Here's hoping a Hwang download eventually.
One thing I'm wondering is if the DLC will eventually be free on 360 like most other DLC.

& if so, will it go free on PS3 as well eventually?

if anyone's got the strategy guide could you send me a scan of the treasure chest unlockables in tower of lost souls mode?

ooh and a scan of the table of equipment you unlock as you descend the tower of lost souls? i'm writing a guide :D (the top of it is on one of the pictures above)

thank you,

Henners

Not sure what version of LIVE you're using, but there ain't much DLC for free in there when I look, especially not from Namco-Bandai.

I'd guess 400 points/$5. Less would be nice of course, but again: this is Namco. Them Ace Combat jets are expensive.

after a period of time DLC usually drops in price then goes free. that was my understanding. some can take longer than others though.

The only DLC i've purchased so far are the Forza & Halo packs (which it's both happened to). so I'm not entirely sure how much it applies to other games.

Didn't M$ say that if the DLC is free on the PS3 it would be free on live also? Of course I could just be making this all up in my head.

Cosmetic changes will oftentimes never see a 0 point value. Things like maps almost always will eventually.

These will never become free:
Oblivion Horse Armor
Star Wars Battlefront new characters
Ninja Gaiden 2 New Costumes

These did:
Halo and Gears maps

Sorry -- didn't mean to come off like a jerk. I would just say that the "free after a time" pricing is the exception rather than the rule. Most content costs money and never sees a price drop. Given that the only freebies from Namco for Ace Combat 6 have been paint schemes and emblems (actual new planes run 200 ~ 400 points, I believe), I'd bet Yoda/Vader will run about the same.

No, that's correct across the board -- anything that's on Live/PSN/WiiWare will have a uniform price.
Why such high reviews for a game with abysmal online play?
???

so Mario Bros 3 sucks now cuz no online ???????????????????????????????????

You guys can thank me later.

Just in case anyone thinks R2 is fer reelz, the first image (top-most, w/ blue ish BG) is from the Hasbro fully electronic R2 that went for like $100 a few years ago. Totally 'shopped. Tis sad. That woulda been BA.

I really am hoping against hope that the LE exclusive content STAYS exclusive content... even if it's something small or trivial.

In any case, thanks for the heads up on the first DLC for SC4. I just found this thread and I'm super psyched for the game. :)

I will check Partnernet tomorrow for SC4 DLC, last time I checked there was a ton of stuff but its was all placeholder and test stuff.

You know it won't stay exclusive to the LE. Namco can't be trusted.

I could have sworn that on Gamestop.com's main page earlier today, Ivy's torso was uncovered, but later in the morning, they decided to move Yoda up a bit to cover her underboobage. I think that's hilarious. First, the American SC4 website's censorship of the Ivy artwork and now this. Ivy's breasts tend to create controversy. :p

I am contemplating buying the LE. I think $60 on a game and $20 on a guide is enough, but the T-shirt looks cool, art book seems cool if it has some of my favourites with less clothing. GameStop doesn't say anything about bonus DLC for the LE but that seems like it might be worth it. I need some convincing either way.

I'm with ya. Mostly, I'm thinking NO LE because I don't like the way they package the games in those tins. If the normal game case came w/ the tin, I'd get it. The art book is the only other selling point for me and it's not worth $20.

Same thing w/ the guide, specifically the LE guide. The CD would be cool, but i'm trying to get away from buying the guide for everything.

I am also not a big fan of those tins. The FF12 CE game case was really nice because it was just a tin version of a normal case which I am hoping this is. I am not a big guide whore, the last I actually payed money for was FF9, but I need a good resource to play fighting games.

Anyone who ends up getting the LE early Tuesday, please be quick about posting an explanation of the DLC in here so I can make my decision. :) The extra CAS content is the only reason I'm considering the LE, and I'm skeptical that it's worth $20. And yeah, I don't want one of those tin cases, either.

The LE guide I'm not sure about either, but I don't need that right away.

I really want to know what the DLC is too. I'm getting the LE just because I can, but it'd be very reassuring to know. I'm kind of surprised that nothing's leaked about the DLC or the artbook so far, especially considering some places breaking the street date.
So what do they usually do with the games inside a tin, cheapo paper sleeve?
Yeah. Kinda. Think Gears or Mass Effect.

It'll probably be a cardboard folding box with art on it.

That 1up review is pretty good, although like one of the commenters mentioned, the tag-team comment was misleading.

Still wondering if there will be any easy way to share custom characters without copying over an entire save file. I liked how SC3 used both memory card slots so friends could bring over their set of custom characters, but I'm not optimistic that SC4 will have a similar feature.

Why is Mielke still reviewing fighting games? Of course he's going to call SCIV the best Namco fighting game to date and not even acknowledge Tekken 6 since he's always kissing Itagaki's(who despises Tekken) ass.
I don't think it's namco's best fighter to date, but it's damn nice. Tekken 6/TTT still takes that cake.
Never liked tekken too much, compared to SC it felt to slow and clunky

I'm gonna try and rent this off Gamefly for 360. Why? Don't know really. I doubt I'll try the online mode since I SUCK SUCK SUCK at fighters.
Never liked tekken too much, compared to SC it felt to slow and clunky
 I think SCIV will make you think they are the same speed now >_<

I wish SCIV was as fast as SC1 but oh well :(
 I think SCIV will make you think they are the same speed now >_<

So ... in order of fastest to slowest, the order would be: SC III, SC, SC II, SCIV?

I've heard that Yoda/Vader will available as DLC for the opposite system a few weeks after launch.. but you didn't hear that from me :X
