Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows - Gen Discussion & Info
They need to launch a new Spiderman game franchise set in the future where obviously it's an alternate future/past? You keep all the same people and their traits but change them accordingly to the setting. Imagine a New York in like 2142 where everything its really sci-fi esque and lots of high concept technology stuff.
No Spider-Man 2099 game, please....pretty pretty please with a cherry on top
Although, frankly I thought a mass invasion of the symbiote alien was different enough, but maybe according to reviews it wasn't? I still want to play the game caz it looks so damn cool.
The problem is that they can never seem to get the combat right. In the past 4 SM games the combat has always been sucktastic IMO. Hit a guy, jump off his head, pull him up, throw him into others that are shooting at you, rinse and repeat. It sucks because it's such a great universe that you'd think a game would fall RIGHT in line with it, but apparently not.

So any CAG got this yet? I'd like to hear some impressions. I'm still waiting for Gamefly to ship mine. Sometimes they take forever.

I actually liked Spider-Man 2099. I have every single issue of that, X-Men 2099 & Doom 2099. But Marvel will never revisit the 2099 Universe. It was a 90's thing.

I got it I only played around the first if you can call it training stage which at the end you fight venom but they really didnt tell me anything I kinda just figured it out on my own. Then on top of that peters voice is so stupid, you will know what im talkin about when he goes "I like my present". Anywho I guess when u start the game takes place a little bit in the future of the story then it snaps you back kinda like you have all these powers and stuff then they take it away from you. I like leveling up, I like the fighting I like how they kinda over exaggerate things with the flares at the end of some of your moves. Swinging is fun I havent figured out how to go faster but maybe its a upgrade or I just don't notice it. Camera is meh but I still love the game

Gfx is pretty sweet only saw venom and luke cage so far venom looks like he has whtie chest hair where his white spider should be and luke cage is the typical black guy was waiting for him to say "its the cole train baby!"Bottom line its worth playing worth buying not so much for people who will only play it once. Achivements seem easy enough beat x amount of guys do x amount of combos couple of collectables. I would say rent it if your a spidey fan buy it and put it next to your other spidey games

I noticed from the trailers that Spidey's voice doesn't match what I'm used to. Thanks for the mini review. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Yeah I noticed that too from the last trailer. I actually really dislike it, but whatever.

They made new stories for that universe like two or three years ago... So who knows maybe we'll get Spider-man with parachute web wings after all.

I heard there is a web parachute in this game....
No prob rodimus It sound like hes at least 15 in the movie and he does stupid stuff but then u see MJ and she looks/sounds like shes at least 25 (anakin and padamay). Anywho I don't care that much but I loath hearing him speak. But all in all its a good game though

 what about a Ravage 2099 game then? Memories of crap comics of a investment crazed era, brought on by the Death of Superman. But no worries this spiderman game only falls short because it is the clone spidey ha ha haha.:lol::lol:

I think you're refering to the Daredevil 2099 that was done in 04' But the Miguel O' Hara Spidey was in the Exiles a few years ago, haven't heard from the universe since then. Now I want to see Marvel Zombies 2099!!! It's hard to beliave that imprint is over 15 years old. Seems just like yesterday I was collecting the all the 2099 #1's w/ red foil.

Ah, possibly. Then again I remember a few years ago they relaunched the Heroes Reborn universe in a mini series and my head started to hurt...

just a updated I got a little bit farther got the ability to jump off people etc game gets better and better definitely worth trying/having
Mr capcom:

Does Luke Cage say 'Sweet Christmas'?
lol no not yet but he says other things hes actually pretty good and I earned him as my umm i guess sidekick or w/e once ur meter gets full u can call other heroes/villians out to help u fight the game is hot

no prime as far as i can see u can't but you can call them out kinda like in mvc1/2 and they will run around and pwn then leave. its far from being mediocre IMO

Just to give a quick update im about to beat the game and its about 4 levels training/act1/act 2/ ending
The end part is the most fun but I went thru the whole game doing every bonus mission just cause the game was that fun. The upgrades are sweet and fun to watch over and over. IMO the combat system is A++ this is what spider man 3 should have been. Just take Spidey 3 add 10 times better gfx this combo system and even if they merged the two stories from spidey 3 and this one the game would of been hot and this one would of been even better. But meh must have game im gonna keep playing there is 4 endings I hear

I just played a few hours and I love it. I really don't understand why some of the reviews were so harsh. I just beat Act 1 and the game plays very smooth. The camera is not an issue. Occasionally it got a little crazy but for battles it works very well. Graphically it's okay, nothing spectacular. The combat is the high point. I found myself wanting to do all the optional quests just so I could fight more.

This is a "good" game. Not perfect, but good. It's 8/10 in my book. This is defiantly worth a rental. Problem is there's so many better games coming out soon, it might leave WoS in the dust. Plus the few harsh reviews didn't help at all.

Lol thats what happen to me too im at the end and I stopped playing for a bit I don't wanna beat it lol
9/10 in my book after I got to the end of the game trust me the combat gets better once u keep upgrading your powers you will have more fun and the last stage has so many enemys you will start :drool::drool::drool:

I can't wait to play some more. I have the next 2 days off and I plan on being a vegetable for the next 42 hours. Problem is I'm about to pick up Fallout 3 and Spidey may take a back seat for a bit. I wish I got this game a week ago.

I just beat it. It took me about 10-12 hours. I didn't see a clock so I'm not 100% sure. I got about 800/1000 nerd points.

was playing it a bit earlier today and was surprised that I finished one of the 3 acts in the game.....i thought it was just a tutorial part, but we're talking main game and I'm further in than I thought...it'll keep me entertained though.

The first act is very short compared to the other two. It's at an average length for an action game. I took my time and did all the optional side quests.

I got the "Red Ending." It was okay, but very predictible.

Just started this last night, I'm impressed...I went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. My only gripe at the moment is climbing buildings...anyway to do this by running into a building when you swing? Seems like I have to go down to the sidewalk to have to start climbing.

Yeah there is a way, I can't remember off the top of my head though. I'll pop it in tonight but I seem to remember it being something with the Left Trigger right when you hit the building or right before. My biggest complaint was the camera angles.

Yeah, the camera can be quite difficult at times...mainly when going up and down buildings since it changes perspective right away.

LB will make you start running up a building. I usually mash it a few times to make sure it registers.

The game hits its high point when you learn the controls but before the repetitive missions kick in, frantic action makes the camera a bigger issue, the pop in becomes ridiculous and the frame rate slows. I had way more fun just collecting spiders early in the game than I have had doing missions.
