Sports games.. 0X vs 2KX

So, Ive never really played many sports games.. however I've been thinking I should pick up NBA, and NHL becuase they do good for when people come round for some multiplayer.

Anyway my question is.. 2K9 or '09

Real differences?

The 2K games, all of them, were really underwhelming last year to me. Hopefully they can step up for this year's lineup, but I'd give NHL 09 the easy edge right now since they've got a great base to build upon.
 
I don't know how anyone can say NHL 2K9 is not good since there are no reviews or even extended previews out yet. NHL 08 was the better game last year.

NBA 2K8, while not a vast improvment, was still better than the junk EA put out again.

NBA go with 2K
NHL wait and see IMO.
