Star Trek: The Animated Series is $14.96 @ Walmart B&M

Hahah, now my husband is probably going to scour every Walmart in Vegas looking for a copy.

As a series, its not bad, but its not something I'd pay more than $20 to get. I watched it (free courtesy of my local library) and honestly, I'm not really a Star Trek fan, but...I did find the animated series to be more enjoyable to watch than the original. But then again, half of that was due to the fact that the cartoon series had aliens that actually looked ALIEN, not just silly humanoids with alot of make-up slapped onto them. (One of my big pet peeves about the Star Trek series...aliens...that look like funny humans. Yawn.).

This was the first I have seen of it and considering it was made in 1973 on a small budget, it isn't that bad. I watched two episodes so far and they were decent. The animation is about what I expected for the time it came out. Although, the sweeping views of the ship they show from time to time are really nice IMO.

I like the insert in the case that discusses whether or not the Animated Series should be canon while discussing the fact that Tiberius came from the animated series. Also, the phrase "beam us up Scotty" came from the animated series. I am a Star Trek fan and animation enthusiast so I am going to be biased. For $14.96 it is a must buy IMO. You probably won't find it lower than that.

Guess I'm making a run to Walmart on the way home from work, since I'll be right by one with another stop I have to make.

I'd hope Amazon would match Walmart.com's price at least, since tax would make it about $16 with the B&M purchase, and for a couple bucks' difference, I'd use my Amazon credit.

For some odd reason, Walmart has had it at this price for almost three months. I thought I was getting a price error back then, but then it started popping up for that price at all the Walmarts I visited.
 
Hmm...I used to have a VHS tape that I bought at a a garage sale that had a couple episodes of this show and of Droids. Been awhile since I've seen it, maybe I'll go pick it up.
 
thanks op i picked up today watched the first disc. I have seen all the movies and series but never the animated series for some reason I thought it was going to really shitty but I liked the first disc especially 2 eps taking nods from past TOS eps.

I have a crush on this series and I just wanna to have the animated series. I think the price is within my budget and I am surely going to search for it.
