Group Buys - Updated 05/20

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.
Past Special Sales
Visit www.steamgamesales.com to check previous sale prices on Steam games. We do keep track of some older sales here though:
I assumed it was a deadline, but I'm not sure.

Heh, this sale/giveaway idea is so cool. I'm such a dork. I love bargains and free stuff so much and I also like the idea of the scheduled surprises that I can look forward to. I also like having a reason to get achievements or a score on something. I've always loved the idea of achievements, but I've never been into meaningless scores. I like when xbox games give avatar rewards or WOW gives titles or a pet or something for achievements.

I'm excited to find out what the next deals/goals are.
I agree. Steam sales that are scheduled make me feel a bit like a kid on Christmas. I open the application as fast as I can and find out what items Santa Gabe brought for me this time.

I might have to add that to my signature

And you hate it when it shows the equivalent of the ugly ass sweater you never will wear.

:) I'll add that as well :)

I feel the same way especially, with the sales that are several days in a row like the Holiday ones. :)

Yes, very true

Damn it Chime is addictive as hell. Just spent the last 30 minutes just playing in free mode. I've gotten similar messages from everyone I've gifted Chime to.

Same happened to me when I got it for the 360 when it first hit. Had to delete the game just so I would stop playing it

Hmmm both games look interesting but not at the prices they currently are. I have already bought a ton of PS3 and Steam games recently I need to play so I cant justify $2.50 for ARDFG nor $5 for the other(which looks pretty interesting).

Might pick up AAAAAH! New Vegas isn't even on sale so nothankyou. And you don't even have to buy The Undergarden so that's a freebie.

It's nice that you can go back and do the previous days' objectives too.

Add me, xthe_punisherx

I bought Chime but apparently didn't do good enough to unlock the second level. Nice to see that we can still complete it through the contest.

Objectives for 12/08-12/09
 • Friends with Benefits - Have 10 friends on your friends list
 • What Happens in Vegas - Complete Ol' Buddy Ol' Pal achievement in Fallout: New Vegas
 • Terminal Velocity - Set a leaderbord score of at least 22,600 on the level 'Mash Face Against Mountain' in AaAaAA!!! - Review
 • Go To Your Happy Place - Play the demo or game The UnderGarden - IGN review

Sales for 12/08-12/09

You'd expect Fallout: New Vegas to be on sale today, seeing as how it's the target of one of the objectives.

Oh, well. I'm pretty sure it'll go on sale during the Holiday sale.

I don't mind people sending me invites, as long as:

 • You run Steam whenever you're on the computer, which is more often than once a month
 • You have good communication skills and reply to IMs
 • You actually own some games

Been interested in AaaaAaaaaaAaaa for a while, so that's cool. And I'm also glad that the previous objectives can still be completed after their initial period is over.

Wouldn't mind a few more friends on steam :)
edit: too many friends now!

Luckily I already have NV and not sure if i'm going to get the other 2 games
Undergarden ... uhhhhhhhhh yeah

Played the demo, still haven't unlocked the chest, want my 5 minutes back
Ditto, I played it for a bit. Was a bit reminiscent of flower or PJ Eden but I quickly and perhaps hastily decided I wouldn't be buying it as I never finished those either. Still hasn't unlocked for me.

Has anyone gotten 5 objectives done and unlocked the TF2 hat? I just hit 5 and am curious to do it, however, I want to make sure I won't need 15 more objectives to get the next hat if I claim this one, I kinda doubt it, just don't want to be the first to try it.

A heads up for Undergarden demo players. Go to the top-middle and find the one plant that opens a warp that you can actually pass through (the game will tell you to press Warp). That'll take you to the first real area.

Has anyone got the credit for playing the demo?
Do you need to have steam installed on the computer you are trying to add friends with? Haven't been successful adding friends in either chrome or firefox, but don't have Steam installed here at work.

If anyone wants to add me feel free:

It uses steam:// links so I think you do.

If anyone gets the undergarden unlock please let us know.

Also anyone have AAAAAA!!? How hard/easy is the unlock to get?

It's a bit fun of a meta-game trying to get these.

So, does anyone know how much of the Undergarden one has to play before it unlocks? It's not even playing sound for some reason, so its extra boring right now.
