Group Buys - Updated 05/20

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.
Past Special Sales
Visit www.steamgamesales.com to check previous sale prices on Steam games. We do keep track of some older sales here though:

Is Steam down or something? I can't seem to login...or access the website now, actually. On my phone or through the computer. I kinda wanted to get the current deal.

Ah, thank you! Bummer that means I will probably miss out on the deal, eh well the good thing about Steam is I am sure the set will be $1.25 again in a future sale.

EDIT\ Nope decided to check again and I am able to login fine now. Thanks again Terlan for the head's up! :)

I think that was an earlier iteration of eve.
 
I don't play EVE but I think all versions are the same as all of their expansions are free updates. Incarna just released yesterday and seems to be the 15th update!
 
I am sure this has been said before but Steam really needs to bring back the specials frame where the discount is sorted by percentage off or adding an option to do this. Especially since the summer sale could be tomorrow! I hate when the super discounted games are number 98 of 101.

Yes but it was still 5 bucks and all future expansions are free when you have an account already.

It was US$1.99 (!) on June 28th 2010. I bought it. And I just activated it a few weeks ago - coupled with a trial account, 51 days of playtime for under two bucks. And yes, it includes all expansions released since. :)

Huh, went to download a game of mine, Indigo Prophecy, from my Steam Library. Realized I could no longer get to the store page. The forums report the game was taken down earlier this year.
 
My excitement at the prospect of a summer sale is unbearable at this point. If steam dosent do a sale today I will go kick a puppy or something equaly evil.

Before anyone freaks out let's be patient today. I mean just because it's 1:02 pm and there's no summer sale doesn't mean we have to jump to conclusions. (That's what I'd be thinking if I were rational)

Steam does overlapping sales all the time (EA week, Ubi week, etc with a completely separate midweek sale), so i'm not buying this that it wont happen by the weekend. The truth is last year started on June 24 so there is no reason to think that it wont start on June 24 again.

Overlapping developer weeks and Holiday sales are completely different things ...
