VIVE and all VR was DOA.
Why u lie, vr is the future
Dis is the future and we still don't have hoverboars in vr

The gimmick of the year is ultrawide monitors. VR is so last year's gimmick, Sony was just super late with their version. Welcome to 2015, bro.
That is so 2000 and late

The future gimmicks is hori fight sticks
Y u no take my muney before I spent it on a plastic strap to my face.

But Eve was the biggest vr game I wanted to get it for along with fallout 4 & skyrim vr

At least you went with the better choice. More games and support for the Rift and Vive anyway.
I'm hoping someone will make a mod for RE7 to support the htc vive.

This was the only game I was looking forward to on the psvr

speaking of rift, you can now pre-order the touch controllers, shipping dec6th
Better yet, get the htc vive that already has the controllers included.

This was my only reason to pick it up over the rift.

Seems like more games already supports it the vive controllers

nope.

The biggest reason is it's another gimmick that will never become mainstream no matter how well it does.  Most people will never use VR consistently.   Half of people feel sick just trying it out for 20minutes.  Sales are certain to be abysmal.  And how many VR kits do we have on the market now?

The hardware makers can do whatever they want.  But software developers aren't going to keep making games for a peripheral with such a low install base.

Well my reasoning was the rifts comfort and larger visual sweet spot. Im also more interested in seated experiences like elite and airmech anyway. However one look at the touch controllers and I knew I would rather use those in VR than the vive wands, they just look like they make more sense in vr to me. Besides they are 'motion tracked controllers', so they work out of the box with 90% of the vive games anyway

I also only just bought the rift a month ago, so I really dont have any problem waiting 3 months to get controllers

Are there any VR exclusive games that are must plays?  And are there any non-exclusives that are enhanced greatly with VR?

I don't follow VR tech much so I don't know, but most of the stuff I see on Steam looks pretty bad, generic, and short.

Yea thats been my impression of most of the non-seated experiences Ive seen. They are nice and interesting and have a wow factor for 15-30min but then they get stale.

On my list of what Ive played, and had recommended:

Tilt brush, audio shield, raw data, hover junkers (though no one plays it that i can see), and the lab all seem to be highly rated motion controlled games

For seated these are what I have liked:

Elite dangerous - really the sense of scale and everything is just great

project cars and dirty rally - both are really well done

subnautica - while it still has alot of rough edges in its VR implementation is beautiful and really good in VR

redout - wipeout in VR like ive always wanted

airmech - RTS thats really well done, just the interface uses VR in a great way

I will buy into VR....in about 3 years if it is still a thing. Feel like I have paid the early adopter tax way too much in my life. Going to skip this time.

The porno 'games' alone are probably enough to ensure VR will sell. Too bad keeper only has a 960, all he gets are stick figures.

wat. don't most games have a 970 listed as a minimum requirement?
Also on the rift side once they get ASW(async space warp) out to match ATW(async time warp) they are dropping their min to a 960 all around. Its already available with a registry tweak but only works on nvidia cards at the moment which is why it isnt on by default yet. From the reddit threads on tests it works really well, and I tried it in elite jacking up all my settings, which the 1080 usually handles, but then enable 2x supersampling which is basically rendering 4k+ since its a VR resolution and previously it would be a stuttery mess but with ASW its perfectly playable

So if none of the upcoming controllers are penises, there's no point?

Driveclub VR is $20 on newegg, priceglitch. Why should you care? You shouldn't. I'm just posting it here to shame Keeper for buying a Vive instead of PSVR. Missing all dem price glitches!

Brolert:

Alpha Decay is in stock on Tremor right now for 149 coins.  We're planning on scheduling it for a bro night so grab it if you want to join us.  If you need coins look under Trial Pay for the Hero Wars facebook game.  You get 200+ coins for playing like 5-10 minutes of a stupid FB game.

Just ran benchmark on Gears of War 4, before going to bed, with everything on Ultra it's getting me average frame rates of about 110, using GTX 980ti.  Most should run this very well like Doom, it seems.

If you own Rise of the Tomb Raider, you can get 100k credits free for launching the game from now until October 18th. I checked just now and the promo is live. I think it's some sort of celebration for the PS4 launch. Works on all platforms.

That and to celebrated TR is 20 years old as a series now... (or soon will be.)

Anyhow, I'll boot mine up but the credits are for the survival and "MP" stuff and not the campaign so I don't think I'll get anything out of it.

since i cant make bro fest tomorrow, reds hooked me up with masked shooter 2 for a little pre party.  This must be the best bargain on steam.  Fluid gameplay and amazing guns.  Every gun is unique,  maps are great.  Im jealous im not going to be around Tuesday for it.  Dont miss it.

I won't be able to make tuesday either. Such a great game, I feel bad that I won't get to experience it with you guys. GOTY 2016

Thats too bad, we didn't even get to try all of the maps. I hope that we will be able to get to try all of them tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up! Here's what the update brings:

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Pack
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Pack includes:
  • “Blood Ties” single player story. Explore Lara’s childhood home in an hour of new Story Mode gameplay, and uncover a family mystery that will change her life forever.
  • “Lara's Nightmare” Mode. Lara's worst nightmares come alive as hordes of the undead overrun her childhood home.
  • “Extreme Survivor” difficulty setting that will severely limit your save points, crafting materials, resources, ammunition, and health.
  • 20 Year Celebration Content. Five classic Lara Croft skins as well as a reimagined outfit and gun that pays tribute to Lara’s trip to Antarctica in Tomb Raider III.
  • Infected NPC Cards have been added to Remnant Resistance and Endurance Mode.
The 20 Year Celebration Pack will be automatically given to all Season Pass holders, as well as made available for individual purchase at 9:00am PDT.

Additional Season Pass Content
Also at 9:00am PDT we will grant all Season Pass holders the following packs:
  • Apex Predator Pack
  • Hope’s Bastion Pack
  • Remnant Resistance Pack
  • Sparrowhawk Pack
  • Tactical Survivor Pack
The Valiant Explorer Pack will also be added to the Season Pass soon.

Endurance Mode Co-Op
A new online co-op expansion to Endurance mode lets fans raid tombs in a brutal wilderness together. Two players must team up to survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies by night.

Endurance Mode Co-Op is available with this patch to everyone who already owns or purchases the Endurance Add-on.

Other Changes
  • Rebalanced the single player Endurance experience and added a new Season 2 leaderboard.
  • Added a safeguard to prevent Lara’s radio from being removed from her inventory.
  • Added a safeguard to allow the player to turn in the Gulag Recon quest if the mission giver was unresponsive.
  • Added a safeguard to prevent the challenge lanterns in Baba Yaga from disappearing.
  • Fixed an issue that could lock out player control when turning in a mission in the Soviet Installation.
  • Fixed an issue where the final cutscene would not trigger if a portable object was aimed while entering the tomb.
  • Steam overlay in DX12 is now enabled by default, you can still disable it in your Steam settings if desirable.
  • A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks.
