This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

Well, there was Elder Scrolls Online - but yeah, I don't think that really counts.

It's a MMO; wasn't made by BethSoft; and honestly is quite "meh."

ESO certainly ain't on Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim's level of open-world RPG greatness.
I'm sure Motoki never heard of ESO.

Steam?  A sale?  You mean those 'here all the shitty deals up front so you can go back to searching the internet for actual deals' sale?

Calling all MrDs, is the new vampire masquerade game on steam worth it if there is no nostalgia involved?

Edit: Wasn't there a steam Chinese New year sale last February?

I liked that Vampire the Masquerade game, but I'm sure MrD is probably currently typing up a dissertation on why Bloodlines was better.

Gabe is still waiting on little Gabe to rise again, then there will be a steam spring sale

To be fair: while I've had Redemption for like forever on GOG, I barely even played it.

Basically...installed it, made sure it ran, and put it aside.

So, I can't do any dissertation in favor or against Redemption at this time.

Sorry.

Its a fucking miracle. This must be a byproduct of all the Jesus nonsense on here lately.
Nope.

No miracle.

It's only b/c I haven't gave the game a fair amount of time to have an actual opinion + proper dissertation to actually give to Redemption.

So...for now, you're all spared.

EDIT:

Might be a while until I properly play Redemption, since I've got so much worthwhile newer stuff in the backlog - Witcher 3, MGS5, Far Cry 4, Dragon's Dogma DA, XCOM 2, etc etc.

Plus, already in the midst of Mafia 3.

My issue with HOTS was that it was boring.  When I tried to be not boring, I got told to F/off and L2P.  And all the heroes were retarded expensive.  Are they giving me some of my money back spent on HOTS 1.0?  (not much in my case... but I'd be livid if I was one of the people spending a ton of money).

Probably extremely ymmv but my local Wal-Mart has some Logitech and Razer mechanical keyboards and headsets marked down $15-20. Tempted to get a backup headset.

I'll give Blizzard some free advertising here and, no, no referral link or anything it's just a blanket promo they're doing. They are 'rebooting' Heroes of the Storm (probably to help it's flagging popularity) so if you've never really played before then starting on the 25th or so when it 're-launches' would be a good time to look into things. They are redoing the whole experience system and new players will get some pretty good rewards as they play and level heroes early on. Plus they just announced a one time choose-a-bundle for essentially free (they'll give you the 100 gems to buy it) for the first month. There are four different bundles that have 20 heroes each (http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/heroes20/megabundles/).

To underscore how crazy/desperate this promo seems it would be like if they gave away 50-100 packs of Hearthstone cards just for logging in one day. Anyway, if you're at least somewhat interested in MOBAs next week would be a good time to check it out.
so does this involve buying more HOTS fore.. um skin?

Did anyone mention the new Bundle Stars Pick'n'Mix bundle?

40 games to choose from.

5 for $1.49

10 for $2.49

20 for $3.99

The EASTER5 5% discount is allegedly still active too. Don't tell CheapLikeAFox, he hates blasphemy.

Bros played Table Top Racing. Half wanted to race. Half wanted to collect coins and treat it as a treasure hunt game. Its shallow but a decent enough racer mechanically.

Then we tried Deformers. It's garbage.

I had more fun with Deformers, but that may have been because I was beating Kyanos. Any game I can get a higher score than Kyanos in is a great game

.. and I have no idea why people were coin hunting in Table Top Racing, that shit's not a collectathon!

deformers might be fun once they add some actual content. Theres no way its worth 30, its desperately trying to be the next rocket league, they already have menus full of hats n shit. Unlike RL though there is purchasable in-game currency, so you can tell they are shooting for it to be microtransaction heavy, along with a high price for what should be an occasional quick game like RL

It also doesnt help that it seems to crash at the slightest breeze. Just clicking menu options some of us could get it to get crash

BTW dont forget to login in this week to get your free 4 forms, those that played tonight looks like they were unlocked if you go into the workshop menu, you'll see the 4 free founders forms.

Yeah I think it's an ok party game and it looks like there's a shitload of things to unlock but with only 3 modes I'm not sure what they're thinking with that $30 price. I'll play it some more on Saturday (if anyone shows up LOL) to test some of the forms and see if there's more to them than just being cosmetic crap. Right now there's like $5 worth of content in the game lol

I recently played a bit of Heroes of the Storm and liked it so I am actually pretty excited about the bundles.  I just have to figure out which one I want.  I HATE LoL and not just because of the community so I am not sure why I like HotS but whatever.

I'll try to be there for it.

Not sure how long this has been a thing, but this is the first time I've ever noticed it.

The balloons were an animated gif, or something like that. Oh and this only shows up in my browser. I'm not seeing this in the client.

Ah, I see. As I said, never noticed it before. But that certainly explains why it's not appearing in the client.

So uh, never mind I guess.

Edit: Just fair warning. I'll probably make the same mistake next year as well.

Finding coins was the one half-interesting thing about the game. Otherwise, it's just driving in circles with the usual generic power-ups. The "toy car" aspect is pretty shallow aside from what the track walls are made of and isn't really played with or explored like that toy soldiers game at least attempted.

The people who had played before were interested in racing. The people who hadn't played before (and therefore sucked at the racing) quickly realized they could make about 10x more gamebux from coin hunting than coming in 7th place in races.

It's an okay game, and I thought the levels were creatively designed, although there were only 4 to choose from. But, like with all cart racers, there are already better games in the genre.

Yeah, I find racing games to be boring unless there's something exceptional going on.  I also suck at them but that's partially a function of my being bored and having no interest in practicing and getting better.

Yeah, they need to balance the coin system in the game.  I was happy not finishing last and doing the races until I decided to get a coin halfway in.  Saw it was worth 10K and then the other ones were worth 25K and 50K and then figured that was where my effort should be directed.  I get they try to design it so you get the bronze coins easily and build up for the boing wheels to get the other ones, but ain't nobody got time for that.

Had to retry the captcha a million times and wait for the system to stop locking out the code, but finally managed to get one, so thanks. GOG's redeem system is garbage for codes like that, if one person used it recently you have to wait 2 minutes or so for it to be unlocked again.

Oh, and Table Top Racing's multiplayer sucks. They restrict you to one mode, in singleplayer there's like 5 different modes so it keeps it fresh for a bit longer. It might have been more interesting if we could play the DLC, but they force everyone to own the DLC to be able to connect to the host. The coin shit sucks even in singleplayer though, I never found that interesting and only got coins because you need them to unlock cars.. which also suck. I don't know why I scheduled it, I guess I figured it might be better with more people since not too many showed up the first time, but it's not a very good racing game.

I did it right now without even having to do the captcha.
Captcha depends on if you got locked out the first time. I was almost able to redeem it on my first time but I think someone beat me to it by a few seconds so I got locked out. I've had some experience with the code redeem system cuz people drop games on the GOG forum similar to how people drop steam keys on other forums, never had to do a captcha for them though. Might be something new that they added for this giveaway

Who knows though, maybe it just glitched out the first time which caused it to be locked out for me which could be why I got all of those captchas.

lol it's a coupon for the game "Everything" apparently
I guess that's certainly one way of sidestepping a possible blitzkrieg of customer complaints. "i tried using this coupon but i didn't get the 20% off call of doody. Why didn't the coupon work it said it was for everything?"

I'm mostly the same way, except when it comes to Wipeout. And maybe with the Pod Racers game. But unfortunately, only the first one was available on PC.

But if you haven't played it, it's like a faster paced cart racer that's responsive.

btw if you're looking for a modern day wipeout Id recommend redout. Its pretty close in both look and feel (plus has vr support and who wouldnt want to play wipeout in vr)

I just looked for games like Wipeout on PC, and that was the first thing that caught my eye. It's pricey though, so I'm sure the bros wouldn't actually go for it any time soon.
