Off to play Bloodborne. No real point to this post, I just wanted to brag.
Best of luck. I was pretty boss at the Souls games, but I've now spent 4+ hours on Bloodborne and haven't gotten out of the initial area. It took alot for me to admit that. Not being able to block has fuck ed me up in ways I could've never imagined.

Got my preorder wings. Came in a retail box. Having some problems though as there's some sort of internal conflict. May have to investigate the dump log.

bloodbourne is a lot differnt than dark souls, you have to go on the total offensive, you can't just block, and hit.

on-topic supermeat-boy on steam for $3.74 steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/40800/

I guess that's why I don't like it as much. There's really only one way to play, where-as the Souls games had many styles/options for players.

It's a HUGE adjustment. I'm not a big fan of the side step after playing with for something like 10 hours, but I still like the game an awful lot.

Does anyone know if the WWE games will ever be ported to PC? (I really just wanted to mention I'm watching Wrestlemania tonight and was wondering if anyone else was?)
Maybe with the Windows 10ification...you're not missing much, those games aren't what they used to be. You should pick up TEW if it ever goes on sale, then you can book your own wrestlemania but with thread regs instead of greasy muscled dudes.

I subscribe for the months that have NXT specials. Can't be assed to keep up with the 3 hour weeklies.

Still hoping either Life is Strange or The Detail (assuming The Detail doesn't just die off) will try to actually make decisions matter instead of seeming like they do. The first TWD got to me because I felt like my choices mattered and I could go back later and save person x, etc. Was really disappointed to find out it didn't matter (and glad didn't play through it more then once), and got the same way with some of the choices in TWD 2 and TWAU,
Mostly the choices result in a change in the person that performs a particular action -- or the way in which it is performed. There are a couple of instances, though, where your choice results in the death of one of two group members. There are also three endings to Season 2 and they are fairly significant in their differences.

Isn't dodging a huge part of the Souls gameplay?

Doesn't Bloodborne have a dodge / roll system?
yeah but from what i've read it's really a shift from a relatively slower paced, more defensive/picking your spots oriented combat to a fast paced, chaotic offensive oriented combat, which is a pretty big change. a lot of people in dark souls just stick their shield up in pve and wait til an opening to get in a hit or two. playing solely with dodge mechanics is a big change in playstyle

1. It is if you want/choose it to be. I preferred a tank style with some dodging/rolling or a mage.

2. It's the ONLY defensive system available to you that I've found so far. You have a gun, which can interrupt enemy attacks, but the lock-on is questionable, at best. Needs patching.

edit: for the tattlers

Is TEW worth it? I don't know how much I'd like a sim like that, but I probably would buy it. I want that Wrestling X or whatever to get done too.

I mounted my friends this weekend. they are no longer my friends.

On sale on Steam for full price. We are allowed to post shitty deals too, right?

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is better than A Wizard's Lizard if any of you were dying to know.
i was, thanks. now i can die happy

always wanted to ask this, demon souls or dark souls
that's really subjective, they're both really good games. comes down to which environment you like better and whether you prefer the hub structure or the interconnected world of ds1 (ds2 is kind of a mix between the two approaches, but leans closer to the hub)

i'd imagine which one you play first probably will make a difference, too. personally i prefer ds1

Max Payne 2 plays WAY better than Max Payne. Maybe play a little Max Payne for history's sake but then quickly move onto Max Payne 2 and then Max Payne 3.

Who knows? Maybe the Max Payne games will be on sale some time soon?

It's hit or miss with every bundle site. Sometimes, a site will do really well and have a lot of never-before-bundled games available, and then other times they'll have nothing but repeats.

I'd actually say Indie Gala, then Groupees, then Bundlestars, then Humble, then DIG, then Indie Royale, then whatever else there is. Gala's happy hour promotions are basically the best you can get, giving you the most Steam games per group buy price. Groupees has tons of greenlit bundles that other sites don't always get, and their history for bundling has been great. BS is good for those few games you missed because they are almost always rebundled there for a fixed price. Their Sim bundles are like $10 and their ComiPo bundle is like $60 for everything though, so their prices are usually laughable unless youz a n00b. Humble is on-and-off, but I haven't been impressed with any of their recent bundles. I don't like paying $6 for 4 voxel games. Indie Royale and DIG are basically the same thing now, but DIG gives double keys for beating the average, which is always like $1.50. So 6 games for 75 cents after the split.

Considering the fact that the retailer weekly ad threads get stickied, in spite of usually being filled with [gag] MSRP, I'd say it's actively encouraged.

Gameplay's pretty much almost the same in both, to me. Sure, BulletTime has more of an edge in MP2 - but it's just tweaked-up a bit.

I definitely prefer Max Payne 2's writing, dialogue + story over the original - less hammy + more serious, in most instances.

I prefer the fresh feeling Max Payne 1 had w/ the gameplay, since it felt so new at the time. Sure, the writing + dialogue is purposely hammy & over-the-top, just like those action-movies it's basically paying homage to so.

Great games, no matter what - gamers owe it to themselves to play both Max Paynes from Remedy.

And yes - I was glad Max Payne 3 from Rockstar turned out as surprisingly great as it did.

Yeah, but look at your dress sense. Your opinion is whickety-whack.

I thought the gameplay between the two was nearly identical. Preferred mp1 mainly because mp2 i thought had a few missions that were kind of frustrating (a mission where you play as mona moving from place to place to cover max, as well as an escort mission)

I remember really not liking those nightmare sequences in MP1 when replaying it a few years ago. But they are still both pretty fun games.

It's probably not worth it. It's very heavy on the management side. You sign wrestlers and book them in matches. For non-wrestling nerds, that means you pre-determine things. The sim will throw random events at you (injuries, arrests, etc) and rate your booking, thus determining how much cash you make off ticket sales and ppv buys. Personally, I haven't played one of these in about a decade, but there is a very serious modding community that spits out tons of rosters and different eras you can play. So if you want to relive the Attitude Era but have Doink as your main event draw, you certainly can do that.

It'd probably come down to how much you care about booking wrestling cards/management and text sims. I've only played EWR really heavily and it's quite fun managing who gets over, the characters, etc. etc. but not having watched Wrestling in forever find TEW harder to care (the last one I played was much better then EWR though).

About a decade old, but if you want to try a free version of TEW, they have 2005 still as freeware:

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/tew/index.php?page=freeware

You can also download a trial of 2010, though I recall the trials of GDS games don't let you play too much of the game sadly =/, rather a time based one but oh well.

EDIT: Damn beaten to it =p. But what indef mentioned is why I like WMMA more then TEW (besides not being big into wrestling anymore), it's somewhat same in you hire fighters and book their matches, get graded on your card which mostly affects popularity of your company and thus money (in WMMA 2 anyways, haven't gotten around to 3 or 4 besides a short trial). The fights you don't know who is going to win though, so you get those moment of shock when an upset happens, or start sweating it out when the guy you are trying to get built up loses the first two rounds before getting a KO or such near the end of the third and so forth.

I have heard better things about Dark Souls compared to Demon Souls.

I consider Humble to be hands down the best. Bundlestars is a solid second. Groupess and Indie Gala third, and everyone else can largely be ignored. $50 and one month with those sites and you can probably end up with 40-80 games varying from AAA publishers to trash you will never think twice about.

edit: This bundle is a great deal if you haven't played any of these. Good mix of genres.

I really hope pictures like this deter the dumbass console peasants from posting here. They're all imminently-punchable morans. Like that kid who is afraid of us and tried to start his own site. That level of moran.

From the time my old computer busticated itself to the belabored completion of the new rig, over 200 games jammed their way into my list of crap that needed to be idled for cards.  26 days later, I am ~600 cards richer.  Thanks, IdleMaster!

I'm pretty sure that's a hot-dog or a sub, but then again I'm not an alien. :whistle2:
That's clearly not the food, burger, but the type of person, burger. It's from a German word meaning townsfolk. This clearly is a depiction of a modern alien about town, truly a dapper gent if ever I've seen one.

If you use Puush on Windows you may have been hit by a malware attack. Check their Twitter feed, and clean it out ASAP.

A friend of mine looked into what it does and... it might be really, really bad. :(

How about less Drabeing and more paying attention?

for 99% of people you will like the one you play first the best. I guess I'm apart of that 1% because I like dark souls one slightly better than demons souls even though I played demons first. dark is more stream lined(see weapon upgrades), more refined, coherent world. dark souls 'clicked' with me better than demons although demons is way more fun doing a current play though now being a souls vet if that makes sense.

Wow @ The Walking Dead season finale.

They killed Glenn off. Not really.
