This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I WON!!!

I got some Humanity; summoned Iron Tankus; and we double-teamed this boss.

Tarkus was the meat-shield and was doing a number on him; and I used like crazy Fireballs + some double-handed melee attacks to finish it off.

Victorious!!!

If there's an issue with inappropriate behavior in the thread, feel free to be specific about the complaint. Saying "can we keep the thread on topic/about deals" and even have a mod come in and say "hey you know there are threads specifically for chatting so move the party there" gives off a way different impression than "there were inappropriate posts, we won't enforce off topic posting though"

On topic: I played a game yesterday. It had guns and something to do with either zombies or aliens or zombies AND aliens. It was an okay experience and it's probably on Steam. Buy it on sale.

Dark Souls progress update:

I can't beat the Capra Demon for love nor money. So I've farmed enough souls to bump up my stats (mainly strength so I can use a badass sword I found) and tonight I'm going to absolutely nail it. Maybe. If he doesn't kill me within 2 seconds of getting in his room.

Edit: Dark Souls isn't on sale anywhere are at the moment. But it will be. Soon. Hi mods!

the secret to capra is try to run/dodge roll past the dogs/capra onto the stairs and kill the dogs as they're coming up

the stairs. wait til the capra is chasing you up the stairs, jump off, when he jumps off hit him as he recovers. rinse/repeat

capra is pretty tough the first time around

Joke's on you. They usually send you a message then remove you immediately afterwards.

The best way to figure out if it's a real account or not is if you accept the friend invite and their profile is still private. If it is, it's a bot. I just flag them as phishers and move on.

Also, damn that Capra Demon. The demon isn't the problem, it's those two dogs that are guarding him. They're usually on you before you can even get your shield up... and if you try to have a summon help you, you get invaded. :|

Capra Demon

As soon as you enter that arena, run + jump up the stairs and then take the dogs out.

Then things should be a lot easier - if you let the Capra follow you up the stairs; jump down when it's time; run around up the stairs; let him get beneath you; do the Plunge Attack; repeat.

Also, if necessary - projectiles can help. Firebomb or throw knives from up top, as well. That can help.

I'm currently trying to work my way through Anor Londo - not easy, hehe.

Lots of statues, gargoyles, and bigger enemies here.

Probably never.

Not that either of those DLC's are especially good anyway. Legacy is basically just a long-ass dungeon, although if you don't play it you'll have no idea wtf they're talking about in Inquisition. Really bizarre of BioWare to assume everyone played an overpriced, never-discounted DLC to a game no one liked...

As for Mark of the Assassin, it's shit. No relevance whatsoever to the overall plot, the new character is annoying as hell, and there's a huge, awkward stealth section that is probably the worst moment in the series. Also some of the combat encounters are ridiculously hard for some reason.

I know this isn't gonna stop people from wanting the DLC of course, but they are poop. Do yerself a favor and just ignore them, or at most watch the cutscenes from Legacy on youtube.

As in they were already on me AS SOON AS I WAS THROUGH THE DOOR. I got sick after ten tries.

I beat the demon before the Steamworks patch. I can't now.

Capra Demon is an absolute asshole, but he becomes fairly easy if you get rid of his dogs quickly.

 
Thanks for the pep-talks, chaps.

I'm with Foxhack on this. All the guides say "just dodge right, kill dogs on stairs, keep Capra running after you".

That's just not possible. I've been able to dodge/run around him about three times. Out of thirty. I get what I need to do, I just fail to do it.

Deal update: it's still not on sale.

That's the location giving me the most trouble right now: the knight-archers that seem to easily drain my stamina, health, and/or knock me off the damn ledge.

I found getting to first ledge and then rushing the right one to be the most effective way to deal with them. Really though, you're right, it's the only cheap part of the game.

the two approaches that are viable are to either try to whittle down the archer on the right via poison arrows or just run up the walkway/ rush to the right, time your dodge roll so you miss the last arrow he shoots and either take him out melee or kick him off the ledge. i just ignore the guy on the left, there's a soul of a lost hero or whatever there but it's really not worth risking. i absolutely hate this part because i always screw up a few times and have to run all the way back from the bonfire. just getting past this part makes the rest of anor londo seem comparatively easy (outside of the boss)

Earlier, dude on left fell off - and I got the Lost Hero Soul. I got lucky, I guess.

Regardless, dude on right still killed me - LOL.

hahaha...btw best approach to beat that guy on the right is by parrying him. it's too tight a space to really do anything else...if you have your shield up waiting for spot to attack you're just gonna run out of stamina then you're boned

Does anyone know if the WWE games will ever be ported to PC?  (I really just wanted to mention I'm watching Wrestlemania tonight and was wondering if anyone else was?)

For the majority of us who have games reserved with WGN, there's been no issues getting keys, but there have been a few notable holdouts. Was browsing WGN and found this post by Coral with some interesting info, and decided to look into this a bit.

The game came out in December but they want to wait for the game to come out of early access before they give out keys.
 
Deadly Profits
 
The dev made a post on their invite-only Steam group here.
 
The game was released a month ago and they are saying they will give keys out in June.
 
According to Coral, joining the group was never a requirement and you can leave without penalty.
 
Sky Battles
 
This one's recent but according to this post they will arrive next week but I asked Coral and they haven’t said anything to him.

Yes - I know there are bookers, that it's rigged, and the whole 9 yards.

I'm NOT a Roman Reigns fan by any means.

He's horrible on the mic + has a limited 5 Moves of Doom a la John Cena.

I'm tired of WWE shoving wrestlers down our throats that are "their guy" and they actually....aren't good at all or ain't ready yet.
