I don't think I ever played Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues... but if I did, I would never have come back to the game.. it is legit not fun. And I can't escape back into the normal game until it's done. It's like pulling teeth without Novocain
Old World Blues was probably the best of the New Vegas dlc but was just okay. The others were outright terrible, especially Lonesome Road. For a game with sharp writing in the base game I couldn’t believe how long Ulysses droned on and on with nothing interesting to say. All the dlc have amazing concepts on paper but execution was dreadful. Maybe better with mods and bug fixes but I couldn’t believe how much I disliked them after nonstop praise by the Fallout community for years.

Fellow CAG-inites REJOICE! I have finally convinced my brain to rejoin my body and the hell that was Old World Blues has been resolved! I only went from level 7 to level 21 in the playing of it. And every single area unlocked, the quests are done, now it's a home base.

Even my appliances cheered with the relief of finally getting to go back to "normalcy"... only for me to walk into Nipton.. what a hellhole that place was. But now I'm able to use my basically unlimited ammo supply to pistol snipe my enemies.... muahahahahah (at some point I need to use the OWB respec or whatever it is the doc does for me)

Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds and its DLCs are being delisted on March 4th (I assume around the store refresh time at 10 a.m. PST). This is to make way for a new shiny version based on UE5.
A lot of you will probably already have the game and at least 1 DLC, but there's a few more.
They ran a sale mid-February but I unfortunately wasn't aware about the delisting until last night.

I made a summary of what I found here regarding all time lows:

Some games can be even better deals when you factor in the bundle pricing, but I tried to just see what was a historical low without any bundling. There's a handful of good stuff, so at least check it out.

I bought six keys and had no issues receiving them or redeeming them.

In the $29 tier you mentioned Trails of Cold Steel II, but Trails of Cold Steel 1 is also in that bundle. And I don't think that's dropped nearly that low before.
Not sure how great these deals were but I got three different bundles:

Steam Games Bucket: Get 3 games for 14 USD (Potion Permit STEAM digital,Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars STEAM digital,Nobody Saves the World STEAM digital)
1US$14.00US$14.00

Steam Games Bucket: Get 3 games for 14 USD (Chernobylite STEAM digital,GreedFall STEAM digital,Tales of Zestiria STEAM digital)
1US$14.00US$14.00

Steam Games Bucket: Get 3 games for 29 USD (FINAL FANTASY X/X-2: HD Remaster STEAM digital,The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II STEAM digital,The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel STEAM digital)
1US$29.00US$29.00

Another new game impression with Spiritfall with 7 hours and 30 minutes played with NO wins. This game is really tough overall.

Spiritfall is an 2D arena action rogue lite Super Smash Bros feeling game. You play some being that is being watched over by the elementals and need to fight to beat up some stuff. I have very little idea as the story is almost nonexistent. The graphics are relatively solid and the music is a bit repetitive but good sounding. This game controls quite excellently with the Series X controller and I wouldn't touch this game without a controller.

In this game you go node to node Slay the Spire style and each node is an arena. These arenas can contain an elemental's blessing (very similar to Hade's blessings with I believe 7 or 8 elementals total) to strengthen with passive abilities or enhancing your button abilities. Pretty much the buttons in combat are a dodge, jump, normal attack (which can give different attacks with different directions similar to Super Smash Bros), a charge attack (similar to a Smash attack in Super Smash Bros), and a big attack on a large cooldown. You will notice right away that jumping, moving and attacking all feel a bit floaty, but you get used to it. The floatiness is mainly there because you can combo and juggle enemies into defeat. I do agree that enemy attacks can be very, very hard to disrupt when they spark and flash a little before their attacks, and projectiles can be very hard to avoid. These are the main flaws of the game along with how much damage things do. If you're off a bit you will lose a lot of health, and it's not always easy to get back since their isn't a traditional heal that you can use when standing still. You just beat an arena and move into another node and do it again. These nodes also have shops, places to lose health to get benefits from shrines, a mini boss area where you get higher rarity blessings at the end of it, money which is dust I believe, a crystal that upgrades your blessings, dice to reroll your blessings and other things where you have a choice, and a special space that appears in between two nodes that looks like a rift. If you go into this (it opens when you beat the previous node) you get a Super Smash Bros arena where you have to kill an enemy like Super Smash Bros and they have up to 3 lives. If you beat them once you get the left node's reward, twice the right node's award, and three times to get an item that is used to buy upgrades after the main boss in an area. The boss comes in the last node, of which if you beat it you get the same item for upgrades that was in the rift area third win.

I have no idea how many levels there are, but I believe there are 4 traditional ones and one weird one where it's kind of lame (I died here and likely was close to the end). The gameplay is a little samey at times, but it is really fun and plays relatively quickly. The difficulty is pretty high and you really need to learn enemy and boss patterns to survive well. I wish there were more elementals as well, but what's there is OK enough.

I quite enjoyed the game even though I feel it could have a little bit more variety. The bosses are always the same similar to Hades (and yes I know they change a bit for the first fight there), and the levels aren't too crazy. It is a strong game although I feel it may be missing something for greatness. I do think it's worth price and is good to get on a sale or bundled. 7.5/10

Also I'm probably feeling a lot less positive about Dicefolk. While it's still an okay game and built well it's kind of repetitive already and maybe a bit shallow as well. Also I've won four games in a row and I still don't think the challenge is all there. It feels and looks like a 7/10 but it's more of a 6/10 wait for a higher sale or bundle type game. I will play it a few more times, but I think I'm reaching my limit on it.

To add to my previous review of Spiritfall I completed it once (it's a rogue lite after all) in ten and a half hours. The battles are very, very tough and while you feel strong, you never feel utterly broken. The key to everything is attack when you can. You can't tank boss/elite hits very well unless you want to die quick. I also recommend
you gain the earth god's blessing tree unlocked after three previous unlocks that revives you if you die once to 30% HP....it's needed unless you're a god at these type of games
. Overall I enjoy this one but it's frustrating enough to not play often. I only didn't like one of the weapons and haven't unlocked all the alt versions of the weapons *coughanotherhadesthingcough*. It keeps the score of a 7.5/10 in my eyes and is well worth supporting and getting on sale or bundled. It's a one person project and has a lot of heart.

Ah yes... the time honored crap developer/publisher tradition of screwing over customers if you have a disagreement with the publisher/developer.

Stolen from steamgifts discussion board.
"
Sometime between January and February 2024, all unrevealed Humble keys for Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter disappeared from bundles and purchases in store.

This must be due to conflict between the developer Frogwares and the publisher Nacon. They had legal disputes over ownership of IP and unpaid royalties.

Quote from Humble support:

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter keys have been temporarily pulled across all bundles/products as we have identified a significant number of > issues with our current key pool. As such, we have returned all of the keys to our partner and are working with them to obtain more. I apologize that I > don't have any estimated time for when we expect to receive more keys, and I am sincerely sorry for the delay.
Once we have more keys available, the product should re-appear on your download page or library.

If you already revealed the keys, they will not work anymore. Steam is giving a duplicate message so be careful when creating giveaways.

Keys from Fanatical are infected as well, probably ALL keys do not work anymore."

Well, shit, I’m pretty sure I bought that and haven’t added it to Steam yet.

Edit: Looks like it’s on Fanatical and I hadn’t revealed it yet, so that’s… something? Maybe? Ugh.

While it's absolutely shitty for a dev/publisher to disable keys.. I don't understand why people wait months or years to redeem them. There's always the chance shit like this can happen and the keys get disabled. At least it's a cheap game, so not much value is lost I guess

Sometimes I'll get a bundle for other games, so I'll have a key that I'm not that interested in. I'll debate about redeeming it just for the +1 or cards. Sometimes I'm iffy so I'll hold on to it in case I change my mind (which has happened in the past). Or I'll think maybe I'll do a giveaway on steamgifts or dump it here, but then maybe I want to wait until I have a handful of keys to do a dump here or do a large amount of giveaways on steamgifts. Or, I haven't done it, but some people might save keys they don't want until the community train on SG.

I shouldn't hold on to keys I've lost a handful of games because of stuff like that and sites deleting old purchases (DailyIndieGame) and just vanishing (IndieGameStand), so I get what you're saying, but there are reasons people might hold onto keys for a bit.

A reply from Fanatical to someone on SG, although they revealed the key a long time ago. I doubt your response would be any different though.
"I am sorry you have a duplicate key.
I can see the order in question is very old (17 Feb 2020) and as such it appears the keys have been removed from Steam by the developers of the game. Because of this the game is no longer redeemable.
We provide a warranty on our keys of 30 days. A key is valid unless somebody else redeems it, or the developers of the game remove the key from Steam, both will result in a 'duplicate key' message from Steam.
If we had replacement keys available then even after this period of time we would have swapped then for you, but our spare keys have also been removed from Steam.
I am sorry but we are not able to help with this problem.
Please ensure you redeem any other older keys you may have - You might find that different developers haven't removed the keys from Steam and the games will still activate."

I'm surprised no one posted a thread on the game's steam forum about the key issue, unless the dev deleted it? Usually people complain on the forums

I have some newer Fanatical keys I need to enter, one Steam bundle and loads of IG gift bundles. I also enter every game I add to my Steam library into Howlongtobeat (yes you can thank me for some rando indie games and visual novels on the site). It takes time, so I get lazy on entering them right away. It also doesn't help if you activate so many keys Steam locks you out of entering more for a while. It's a me problem for sure, but others don't always redeem even within a week of buying a bundle.

Bundles, basically. You get so many keys that redeeming all of them becomes a chore, and they’re so cheap and it tends to be pretty safe to just sit on them that you get a false sense of security letting them stay that way. Hell, I still have keys from Indie Royale I’m sitting on.

Indie Royale

I have a backup of music/some drm free games (mainly visual novels) from Groupees when they were decent, a backup of bundleinabox I believe, and indieroyale drm free stuff as well. I have issues and I doubt I'll go back to most of this stuff other than the Groupees stuff.

This bites for the consumer of games and keys.

This is what happens when we "buy" (and I do use this term very loosely) into online keyed-systems, account-based, client-a[[ based, and DRM-based systems like Steam, Epic, Blizzard's BattleNet, etc. Don't activate your keys in XYZ time (30 days)? Well, I guess this is their response: "Too bad, so sad." Dev's feel like pulling a game and you lose access? "Oh well, it's in the SSA or Digital client-app's EULA; deal with it."

Game has always-online DRM that you thought you "bought"? They respond: "Sorry, no offline mode - BTW, we're pulling our servers b/c it costs too much to maintain 'em and nobody's playing; hope you enjoyed your game-rental." It's gonna be rough to see so many feel burned - especially those that paid full MSRP or close to it - when Anthem, Redfall and SS: KTJL inevitably get their servers pulled and there probably won't be an offline mode.

I know a lot of us do key-hoard b/c we buy bundles b/c we buy really for specific games in that at dirt-cheap pricing and there's likely going to be extras from re-bundling games - but this is the harsh reality here, when they (3rd party client-app's, dev's, and pub's) have all the power. I used to say get "meh" at myself as I'd activate a key from Humble, Fanatical, etc. and then backlog it....only for a newer version comes in a bundle w/ more DLC's/content and get no extra gift for the "pieces I already own" - but now I'm glad I often just activate keys right away that I got for games I don't own on a service. [shrug]

This is also probably an easy way for them (dev's, pub's, etc) to kill the gray market, G2A and sites like it, CAG's "Cesspool", and other places like it too.

New historical low on Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak at Fanatical ($16.79, or $15.95 with Fanatical’s ubiquitous 5% off coupons). I bit on the Deluxe version of that, which includes the Deluxe packs for both the base game and the expansion for $20.99 (or $19.94 with 5% off), also a historical low.
Thanks for the heads up. Seems to me like the price might be a mistake because I don't even recall seeing MH World + Iceborne hitting this price point yet.

Monster Hunter World + Iceborne has been about that cheap as well, it's just that Iceborne/Sunbreak individually that are never cheap compared to the package deals.

Anyway I don't think it's a mistake since GMG has it for close to the same price

Just remembered the drm controversy. Perhaps this has led to more aggressive and frequent Capcom sales. Did sunbreak get hit with the ugly drm stick?

Sorry if this is not ok for this thread. I'm pretty new to PC gaming, and have a Stadia controller I'd like to use. Is it possible to use this on my Epic Games library? It doesn't seem to register when I'm trying to play with it (Death Stranding and Shenmue 3 are what I've tried it on)

Did you do the Bluetooth conversion for it?

Mine has worked for most of the games that I've tried it on (via Steam,) but I haven't tested it on a Epic Games title.

Yeah, I did do the blutooth conversion and Steam is registering the controller. Since I've been tagging the freebies on Epic, I've amassed quite a library on there. I can try an Xbox controller too, but thought it would be nice to have a use for this Stadia one

Add the Epic game on steam (as a non-steam) game, and it should register it as long as you launch it through steam

Quick google says yes, but also that it broke Steamdeck compatibility, and I can’t find anything more recent than the initial reports, so I’m not sure if they backtracked due to the Steamdeck issues. I would assume it remains until I see further evidence, though.

Not sure if anyone else has seen, but I just went to buy that deal of the day Seven (some kinda stealth RPG) and noticed that I now have the option upon getting to checkout to purhcase for my account, gift or now add to my account privately (so no one will know you own a game). Congrats all you porn game lovers! YOUR TIME IS NOW!

I think most games don't detect the stadia controller by default, it's only steam that has built in support for it which is why it's not working on epic. I could be wrong though. Personally I prefer using an official Xbox controller or an 8bitdo controller (which is recognized as Xbox anyway) so I can use them on any platform without any hassle

I have the wireless 8bitdo with the charge stand. It's great. Turns on when you pull it off the charge stand. Turns off when you put it back. Never had any compatibility issues.

I moved my Xbox controller to be my Steam Deck controller. I will eventually replace that with another 8bitdo and likely put the Xbox controller away.

Can't go wrong with 8bitdo. Their support is based in China though.. so you'd be paying $20+ to ship it back if you ever needed a replacement under warranty. That's the only downside. I like my 8bitdo Pro 2 controllers, but in the end I think the build quality (outside of not having hall effect sticks) of the Xbox Series X/S controller is a bit better, and has the best dpad you can get on a modern controller (if you can put up with how clicky it is), so I prefer Xbox.

There is a leaked Humble Choice list for this month on Reddit here, hopefully it’s false because I’m not really looking forward to anything on that list. If it’s true then I’ll be skipping another month pushing my year sub even further into 2025.

Some good games in the Alienaware Arena Game Vault for March:

Tier 2:
Dark Forces Remastered
Warframe 11th Anniversary Pack?

Tier 3:
Pacific Drive
Terminator Dark Fate: Defiance
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
(Coming Soon)

Tier 4:
Nightingale
No Man's Sky

The Burning Shores DLC is PS5 only, don't know if that would be a factor. ^

Probably will be, as we're likely getting the PS5-version.
AMD custom-GPU in the PS5 is around RTX 2060-2080 type of power (which were 6-8gb VRAM GPU's); depends on the game, of course.

And PS5's have 10.3 teraflops or so. A RTX 3060 alone is above that, teraflop-wise - almost around 13.

I'm going to give a bunch of demo impressions from the Metroidvania event likely tonight or tomorrow. I think I have about 10 more demos to go. This includes already released games, so just prepare for me to say this is a Metroidvania but..... I am looking for my next big time sink gaming wise. I still haven't finished FF7 remake so I'll likely play that a bit each day till I finish and then I have Rebirth right after if I want to jump directly into it. Rogue lite games are also wearing me down a little, so I'm likely to do some lighter stuff or visual novels.

I loved FF7 Remake and INTERMission DLC. I wasn't super-thrilled w/ the FF7 Remake (base-game) ending, but Intermission DLC left on a better notes and is much better set-up for whatever FF7 Rebirth will probably do.

Looking forward to FF7 Rebirth on PC, whenever it comes....and gets some deep discounts.

Too bad the whole
General Zod ending of Horizon completely just killed the whole thing for me...
likely won't go back... which sucks cause the whole Vegas area was one of my favorite memories in gaming.

I decided to try out many of the demos from the Metroidvania event right now and also some demos I had lying around. Overall there were impressive and fun games. Many were half baked and way too similar, but there is some good stuff in here. I posted the Kickstarter links if the game currently has a running Kickstarter. HAAK impressed me quite a bit and Rat Trap: Fuse 'em was so original I really was impressed by it. Eden's Guardian was the best of the souls like ones I tried. Everything else was stuff that could be good but didn't impress enough or was a bit too early to be fun.

An Amazing Wizard – 4 minutes. This one is a kind of nice looking, somewhat janky playing Metroidvania game where you play a wizard who can cast spells and augment them. I didn’t enjoy the combat or movement much in this with the recommended keyboard and mouse. Just a little too unpolished for me right now. 5/10

Bail Force: Cyberpunk Bounty Hunters – 8 minutes. This one is classified as a Metroidvania but feels like a 2D anime looking cyberpunk robot killing single screen eliminate them all with melee and guns type game. The music is decent. The sound really needs some work as it reminds me of PC games from the 90s with simple sound effects. Overall, it all feels simple and needs work to really be worth buying. I would get it bundled only. 5.5/10

Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster – 7 minutes. This one is a 2D action barbarian pretty nice hand drawn, somewhat floaty controlling 2D Metroidvania game. The action is decent enough although your own hits lack a little impact and the enemies impact you a lot and you get this weird screen stop thing. The story was forgettable for what I played. This would be a bundle or a highly on sale one as it feels a bit unpolished currently. 6/10

Clockwork Ambrosia – 14 minutes. This one is a nicely animated 2D Metroidvania shooting type game where you explore, gather stuff, defeat enemies and get augments for your equipment. I’m not a huge fan of how I had to equip a different skirt to get a wall jump, but it’s alright. This was just a gameplay demo. The sound was nice as well. I couldn’t figure out where to go, but it played well enough and with a little polish and expansion this could be a solid game. 6.5/10

Combo Card Clashers: Prologue – 22 minutes. This one is a mix of auto battlers and deck builders. You pretty much have this grid I think it’s 4 by 4 or 5 by 5. You get to add a card to it every turn. These can include attacks, spells, buff spells, and utility spells. Overall, this felt very boring pretty quickly. It’s a really cool idea for a game, but this is a bit too basic. I think the game looks alright and used that generic card deck building graphics (Monster Slayers also used it). The map movement and stuff on the map just wasn’t unique or fun enough. I would only get it bundled, but it is solid enough to play. 6/10

Divine Guardian – 9 minutes. This one is a 2D generally good looking Metroidvania with a little guy and a world with Vietnamese gods and an world in ruin. This game is on Kickstarter I believe. The music is pretty solid as is the sound. The enemies are dark and blend in with the backgrounds, which is atmospheric but also hard to tell things. The character and enemies also look pretty small in comparison to the environment. The game runs relatively poorly on my system and felt like it was like 20 FPS overall. It never controlled amazingly well, but with lots of change and maybe Kickstarter funding this could be OK. Right now, it’s way too janky and slow. 5/10 Kickstarter

Doomblade – 8 minutes. This one is a very nice-looking kind of strange controlling 2D Metroidvania action game where you play some little demon thing I guess and are called by a blade. Once you have the blade you go slicing things all over and it feels floaty and action packed. The graphics are nice but during action get really frantic and very janky and hard to follow. The music during action is some heavy metal stuff. Jumping and Dashing are both done by with the left trigger on the Series X controller and you get used to it, but it just ends up feeling floatier. Overall, I liked enough of what I played, but it didn’t feel amazing. 6/10

Eden’s Guardian – 8 minutes. This one was a very good controlling well animated 2D Metroidvania souls like feeling game where you play some armored being and can do a lot of things. You need to dodge and jump to do good in battles. It was pretty fun and well-polished although it was tough. The sound and music were very good too. This one will have a Kickstarter eventually. I liked it enough that if it’s cheap I may go in on the Kickstarter. 7/10 Kickstarter

EMUUROM – 8 minutes. This one is a simple looking kind of trying to emulate older 2D platforming adventure games on the old computer systems. In this one you mainly go around and platform and search for things. You eventually get a scanner thing that can analyze stuff and help you along in your adventure. I liked the sound and music for sure. The controls were a bit okay, but not 100% great either. The jumping is clean enough, but the movement doesn’t feel as good. This is mainly for those like exploring and documenting stuff, which is not really my forte. 6/10

Exploaris: Vermis story – 7 minutes. This one is a 2D Metroidvania where you crash land on a planet. The dialogue (in text form) and the movement both feel very slow. The backgrounds are quite nice, but the animations for things look and feel janky, similar to Astlibra when I tried that out. I do think this has potential, but it needs a lot of polish and has already been in early access for a while. 5/10

Gedda Cake – 7 minutes. This one is a decent looking 2D Metroidvania about a dragon who was asleep and his siblings are around but he needs to eat and he is driven by food. This one feels wonky to control. The animations for attacking move your dragon quite a bit on the ground. Your jump is super high and air combat feels imprecise and awful. The sound effects are also kind of weird. This needs so much polish, but would be cool once you get to switch dragons around. Everything just felt like a bunch of adventuring with not as much yet though. 5.5/10

HAAK – 26 minutes. This one is a kind of future wasteland 2D Metroidvania with puzzle solving, lots of platforming, a decent story and atmosphere and it just felt really good. I liked the music and sound quite a bit. The movement was very decent although air attacks were a little weird to get used to, as was aiming your grapple with the Series X controller. I had a lot of fun with this and will get it if it gets bundled or on a deep sale. 7.5/10

Kādomon: Hyper Auto Battlers Prologue – 22 minutes died on boss for one run. This is an auto battlers which borrows from Pokémon. The graphics and everything are alright. Like other auto battlers you get bonuses from having certain monsters. It’s a little slow even on mid speed. It’s okay enough but pretty shallow overall. I don’t think this one brings enough to the auto battler formula to make it special. At least it doesn’t fall under the get three of a unit to upgrade it a level that many auto battlers do. Instead extras give exp and help to evolve the monsters eventually. 6.5/10

Makis Adventure – 22 minutes. This one is an action 2D Metroidvania game where you play a part where you escape prison. You can transform into a shark and fight some bosses and stuff. It was pretty good for what it was honestly. The fighting was a little janky at times especially for dodging, but otherwise was clean. I had a lot of fun with this demo and would get this game on a deeper sale or bundled. 6.5/10

Morkull Ragast's Rage – 9 minutes. This one is an okay action Metroidvania game where you play some skull guy who starts in jail. The graphics are pretty decent enough. The controls are kind of weird for shielding and such since every strike moves the screen a bit making it a bit disorienting. It gets a bit bad when there is like 3 or 4 enemies on screen. The movement itself is fine enough. Overall this one was okay but I would only get it very cheap or bundled. 5.5/10

The Perfect Pencil – 21 minutes. Probably one of the weirdest 2D Metroidvania where you play a thing without a head, get a camera on it and a pencil and mainly go around beating down sleepy people. It’s really weird, looks pretty good, feels a bit floaty and weird in combat, and the healing is weird where you charge and then need to land an attack. It’s interesting though a bit unpolished. At least it’s pretty original. 6/10

Rat Trap: Fuse 'em – 33 minutes completed demo. This one is a really inventive kind of more puzzle oriented Metroidvania where you play as a rat in a running ball. The graphics are good and the controls are solid enough with the Series X controller. Sometimes precision movement and shooting was not all there, but it was not floaty. The quirk of this one is you have a bunch of abilities and you can fuse your different characters together. An example is a rolling gun thing which can attach to the rat’s ball on the top. This is important for some puzzles as they require a certain number of characters to stand on pads to unlock things. This one was really fun and very original. I will look to get it bundled or just with a slighter sale. 7.5/10

Rebel Transmute – 8 minutes. This is a 2D Metroidvania that honestly leans more towards the Metroid part where you play a person waking up in a suit and have to go around opening areas and shooting enemies with alright sounds and graphics. The controls with the Series X controller aren’t amazing as the movement feels a bit too weighty and the jumps a bit too floaty. It all feels a little loose. This one got some funds on Kickstarter, and hopefully will become a really good one, as it has potential. Right now it didn’t feel super amazing to play. 6/10

Sorry We're Closed – 22 minutes died after getting ambushed. This one is a really weird old school feeling Resident Evil type game where you end up in the demon world because of a curse and must fight and explore through it. It seemed interesting enough although the battle system is a little weird where you go first person to attack things. You can also hit weak points to get rid of things faster. Overall I liked this enough, but these aren’t really my type of games. It still felt polished enough although the battles could be a lot easier to transition to. 6.5/10

Soul Devourer – 10 minutes. This one is a game where you play some school girl with a katana in some demon infested realm. It controls okay enough although the battle hits feel a little off. The art is decent. There are devils and that’s mainly the story other than a bunch of people dying. I didn’t like that you couldn’t naturally turn off rumble (I don’t like rumble anymore) and the screen shake when attacking (not too bad at least). Overall, just pretty average but playable nonetheless. 6/10

Summum Aeterna – 10 minutes. Solid enough feeling (not the cleanest animation) more Castlevania feeling Metroidvania where you just kill a lot of stuff and it has some rogue lite elements as well like only keeping 1 weapon and upgrading it. The controls were okay enough although dodging wasn’t that clean mainly cause enemy animation can blend into the background a bit and don’t stand out as much. I was just really bored playing this. It didn’t feel terrible, but it felt like one of those games you get in a bundle that is trying to be like some greater game and just ends up feeling average and forgettable if you play it. Would only get bundled. 6/10

Transiruby - 6 minutes. This one is a Metroidvania adjacent to Cave Story with similar aesthetics and sound. This one you’re just a world searching for your stuff and it played alright. Nothing too amazing, but solid enough to get bundled or on a heavier sale. 6.5/10

Trinity Fusion – 25 minutes. This one is an action rogue lite supposed Metroidvania (yeah right) kind of Dead Cells like game where you fight through areas gathering stuff and at the end of the area you fight some boss. There are upgrades and bonuses along the way with one use items as well. I think this game was solid enough, but also didn’t feel like it had too much variety and the action was getting very repetitive already. This feels like something you’d be fine with getting from a bundle, which is where I’d get it. It controls relatively well and also looks alright. It’s just pretty alright in all ways including some decent enough English voices. 6.5/10

Whirlwind Magician – 4 minutes. This is one is a pretty basic 2D Metroidvania magician pixel game where you can throw your hat to attack. They recommend keyboard and mouse for the hat throwing aiming. It was alright, but didn’t surprise or excite much honestly. It just felt like a cozy game I’d play for a few minutes from a bundle. 5.5/10
