Went to Walmart on Sunday and found the Might & Magic Heroes 7 box. Is that refund + free game shit still available?

 
Battleborn keys are available in your shit account if you were accepted to the technical test. I think it starts thursday. I never received an email with the details, just decided to check my account and it was there.

Maybe I'll take a break from viscera cleanup detail to try it out. I'm sure if I give it threeish hours I'll be able to determine if it's lacking content or not.

Edit: of course an email finally shows up moments after I post this.

I hope one of those things is pretending to be mutilated by a man in a hockey mask and a chainsaw on a Halloween trail, only the man in the hockey mask has a prop malfunction and uses a chain with teeth and everyone thinks you're just really committed to the part and a dog farts on your body in the morning.

Maybe my intense hate about Borderlands 2 being responsible for the shit state of Aliens: Colonial Marines made them too ashamed to make another.

So an update for those who care (i.e., no one). I was able to install Windows 8.1 by clearing out the usb drive and using it to boot. Worked great and have since upgraded to Windows 10. Now I just need to update all my drivers and install whatever I want on it an I'll be good to go.

So, now I have more questions:

Now that I have Win 10 installed, what do I need to change to make it safe and user-friendly similar to 7? Anything major that needs done?

Also, on my second HDD, I have not done anything to it since I took it out of my old PC. Am I able to just access it like a second hard drive and have things saved and installed there? Is there a way to uninstall Windows 7 off of it or is there even a reason to? Do I need to reinstall all the programs that are already on there?

Ikedas post is a good start. Just be aware that even with that crap Win 10 will still auto update itself and random drivers which is shit. Its screwed up a lot of peoples computers when they were trying to set up their drivers and Windows decided it knowed better and put whatever it wanted on their systems while they were trying to manually install their own. I had some minor problems setting up a new laptop because of this bullshit

Its too bad win 10 has a pretty good interface and is usability is way better than win 8. But all that automated bullshit is kinda a dealbreaker for me. You'd think at the very least they would let you disable that on the pro versions

Yeah, I'll definitely keep an eye out for any updates/changes that Windows 10 will try to make. I think I have everything set up and looking the way I want (Classic Shell works well so far) and I turned off every setting I could find about auto updates and privacy.

What does everyone think about Window Defender? I've heard good things about it being simple, "light", and effective.

I am still unsure about my old HDD and how best to use it. Not sure if I can just run programs that were already installed there from Win 7. I'll do some searching and look to see what I can find. Thanks.

Yes (sans microcenter glitch). Under $300 + no rebate hassle. But don't push your luck with the season pass, all relationships have a breaking point.

A lot of people are upset b/c of the new fee-change (for those who never added the game to Steam-account back when it was free); and especially all of their old stats, friends list, and clans have been wiped-out (and not moved over to Steamworks version).

steak and BJ sounds better than a card with only 3.5 gb of vram. maybe thats just me.

Best price I've seen on that w/out the MC glitch & since that MC glitch.

Just make sure when you run a game - stay below the 3.5GB VRAM usage thresh-hold, so you don't have major slow-downs, stutters, framerate drops, and whatnot b/c of that slow last 32-bit 0.5GB that it may or may not find. EVGA Precision + MSI Afterburner should help you out w/ keeping tabs on that.

Thanks for the advice guys, you're making think about the whole 3.5 VRAM thing now.

As for the other suggestions, no to Blumpkin, Steak and BJ is normal for us and why not season pass, she's a nurse here in NYC so she's getting paid and can afford a measly few hundred dollars, hell she makes enough in one day to cover everything I'm thinking of asking for. Lol

I have this card (via MicroCenter glitch) paired with an AMD 8320E. I can run everything I have (e.g. Witcher 3, NBA2k16) on the highest graphical settings @ 1080p (my monitor's top resolution). Tom's Hardware says it's a good card for 1440p as well. I havent even looked at overclocking either.

True but we are getting our marriage license next week Thursday so she can smell the blood and needs to make sure I stick around, I'll get it all if that's what I decide to ask for. She offered the nvidia shield pro for the living room cause I want that too but I'm all undecided.

Really depends on how much you want to future-proof on that VRAM buffer. Most games only require 2GB now, anyways - so, you'll still be over requirements quite well. Some games for me on my 4GB 960 are having VRAM usage over 3.5GB at 1080p on High to Ultra for me - such as Batman: AK, AC:U, & FC4. So, my buffer can handle the 4GB settings.

What this means is on your 970, you'll just have to turn down a few boxes in your in-game graphics options just so you avoid those silly stutters, framerate-drops, and nonsense like that. Shouldn't be the end of the world, TBH.

As long as you keep your games under that 3.5GB w/ that 970 (since your bus is 256-bit) - your card should blow mine out the bloody water on framerates + performance; i.e. just go check some benchmarks on the 970. On my 4GB 960, I have to sometimes lockdown framerates to 40FPS and stuff like that w/ EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner if I want to keep Ultra or just jump down some settings from Ultra to Very High (if a game don't like EVGA Precision or MSI), just to stop my framerate from bouncing b/t 30-60 frames on a select few of the newer games. Or, if worse comes-to-worst - skip it, 30 frame lockdown via NVidia Panel (1/2 refresh on V-Sync) or in-game (like I did w/ Batman: AK).
