Eh, both are perfectly solid and complete games. The Redux versions just let you play 2033 more as run-and-gun and Last Light with more stealth. I liked both games but have no interest in revisiting them with the Redux version and I doubt most other people would either.

Anyways, what's interesting about BL2's sale is that the MSRP on the GOTY finally dropped from $60 to $40.

Apparently I haven't checked on the MSRP since February. Nevermind.

Unfortunately, the MSRP of BL1's GOTY is still $30 and it's only on sale for 66% off. In fact, the BL1 GOTY is 10 cents cheaper than the BL1 GOTY and BL2 double pack... :wall:

It gets worse. The season pass for BL2 is 10 cents cheaper than the BL2 GOTY. Have I mentioned yet how much I hate Gearbox?

Was excited to see Outlast as a daily, then realized that only the base game is 75%, was really hoping Whistleblower would also be 75%. Still, according to isthereanydeal 50% is the cheapest the DLC has ever been

I can't get any steam price site to work... they're all too busy.  I'm pretty sure I've seen these Transformer games for 75% off previously though.  I didn't bite then... but I've heard they're decent time sinks.  Anyone?

I'd say the opposite. I've only played War for Cybertron and it was really short (about 6h IIRC). It was a lot of fun though and I'd recommend it at it's actually fair price (sorry, Activision, $60 MSRP on a several year old game doesn't cut it)

They have both been this price before a few times.

Summer cards have tanked pretty hard.  Unless CS:GO cards sympathy tank, looks like that train has left the station.  I'd say it's only worth it from a card monies standpoint if your team is predestined to win that day, and then only just.

It's probably a little of both, with the price that high they would be less likely to have people buy it on a whim and complain. As far as shaking down dedicated fans go, if people are willing to pay that much for a game still in development when it's known the price will be dropping as it gets more complete, I don't really think you can blame anyone except those who bought it.

 
The thing about the season pass, is as soon as a game is announced with one that has just garunteed that I'll be waiting for a GOTY version with all that crap included and discounted to the price of the season pass or lower.  It actually makes waiting to pick up games like Bioshock Infinite much easier, so, yay season passes I guess.

KoA Complete is definitely worth it. I bought it on Origin since Amazon had an amazing sale (and it's future on Steam was uncertain), then bought it again when Steam finally put it on sale.

While I do of course think that people should take responsibility for their purchases and need to be okay with what they are buying, I still feel like it's taking advantage. It's one thing to do a Kickstarter and say 'Okay we need X amount to fund this game' but once you get that, to start charging exhortation prices on Early Access for a highly unfinished product in the name of 'we want to limit the number of testers' I think is really a euphemism for 'Because we're greedy and because we can'. There are plenty of other ways to limit your number of testers without charging people large sums of money and developers and publishers managed debugging and QA just fine long before Early Access.

I don't think that because someone can do something that they necessarily always should. And I personally feel like it sets a trend that others may try to follow that's ultimately negative for the consumer.

Anyhow, I'm going off on a tangent and I don't want to turn this thread into yet another tedious TASTES GREAT! NO LESS FILLING! NO TASTES GREAT! Kickstarter/Early Access argument.

Had over 70 hours w/ the base-game.

Though, I really thought Dead Kel DLC was great.
