Being a huge Total Annihilation fan, I have very high-hopes. I hear it's not-quite-ready-for-primetime yet though. I'm waiting.

I think Spelunky gets a bad rap for being tough (Steam even placed it in a "Difficult" community vote). It's no more difficult than your typical Mario game. It's just that there are no saves or continues. It's mostly fair and the control is spot-on. I HATE fashionably difficult games and I love Spelunky.

Holy cow, the Saints Row Ultimate Franchise Pack looks like a steal.  It contains:  Saints Row 2, Saints Row 3 and all the DLC, and Saints Row 4 and all the DLC for it. (looks like all the DLC anyway)

It's $18.74.  That's a dollar cheaper than it costs to buy all the Saints Row 4 DLC separately.

I've already got part 2 and 3 and I've been holding out for whatever the part 4 GOTY is called for PC.  I'm wondering right now why I shouldn't just pull the trigger.  Even after this supposed GOTY comes out, it's going to be quite a while until it gets as cheap as the current franchise pack.

Not as such. You start with pre-built decks and, as you win games with them, unlock cards which you can then add into your deck (and remove other cards) to customize it for your style. I believe there's 30 or 40 unlocks per deck so it'll take you a while to fully open each deck. There's also a "Sealed Deck" mode where you get ten boosters and make a deck out of that. There's no function just build a deck in a sandbox sort of manner.

If you like M:tG, it's worth getting the Gold edition for $5 in my opinion. I liked it, anyway. The Complete edition includes foil versions of all the card unlocks so there's essentially no progression (you already have all the cards you could unlock). You still play through the campaign, of course, but it's Easy Mode when you're starting with cards you weren't supposed to access until the end.

I think we all need it to be a glitch because it violates the Steam Sale Rule that items in Flash or dailies will not go lower during the sale (unless glitched). If we can't rely on a daily or flash item to be at the lowest price, then we must all flood the thread with "do you think this will go lower or should I buy now" newbie questions.

Maybe they saw the ginormous sale spike and just rolled with it. Kind of a dick move to sell 2 games for cheaper than your one game that was featured in yesterday's Daily. Not that i'm complaining...

But if I was complaining, it would look something like this: I was going to ask if Battleblock Theatre would get cheaper, but some mysterious force convinced me not to

I'm so annoyed. The other night a friend and I were trading cards, and then the steam servers decided to shit the bed. Now I have 4 pending trade offers for items that are currently unavailable for trade. I've googled and tried all the possible fixes I have found... no luck. That dumb green notification at the top of my steam client window is going to drive me off the deep end!

Time to contact steam support and wait several weeks for a vague, unhelpful answer. :p 

 
It's not relevant yet, but I've just noticed that anybody with Endless Space and Endless Space: Disharmony coupons (both at 50% off) can use them to stack with current discounts.

Given that it's a possible contender for a flash/daily/community vote, it could be worth using.

I had this issue the other day. You can fix it by having someone else send you a new trade offer.

I've already talked about BL2 DLC, but I can tell you this about BL DLC:

- GOTY Yes or No? Yes, you're only saving a penny by buying BL and cherry-picking the best DLC (Knoxx)

a la carte (if you must)

- The Secret Armory of General Knoxx: Great loot and raid boss (repeatable), lots of laughs. A pain in the ass to navigate around, but excellent nonetheless.

- Claptrap's Robot Revolution: Not as good as Knoxx, but wraps up the game nicely (as opposed to the horribad ending in the main game)

- The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned: It's a funny premise and has a great callback to the main storyline. Short, but not essential.

- Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot: Not even worth it for the big storage bank.

Having said that, BL GOTY has been about a buck and half cheaper and you already "own" the base games for the other two.

Season Pass sounds like the must get, the other ones are at your discretion. The Merica and Dubstep guns sound interesting to me, as well as the explosive powers pack, but anything other than season pass is just skins/weapons/cosmetics

Crafted a badge, got a TF2 backpack thing. Apparently it contains an expander, a name tag and a description tag, but I don't know if the items themselves can be sold or traded. Anyone know?

In Inventory screen just click on the item and look at the details it will actually tell you if you can sell it and for how much.

I'm not unpacking it just to find out. ;p

The items are worth about 40 cents each. If these are sellable, then it will probably make the price tank hard.

Getting way ahead of myself here but WHEN the Arcade-Retro vote wins and Double Dragon Neon is 75% off then the Bro-pack (Double pack) should be $3.25 ($1.62 each).

That's going to be totally rad n stuff.

That's cool. On 360, the Pink Knight is free, iirc, and when it launched they donated a certain amount to a breast cancer charity per download (hence the Pink aspect). Didn't know Blacksmith did a similar thing (though that one costs money on 360), least on PC.

Guess all 4 games correctly! If someone seriously does that they are crazy crazy lucky OR have shady inside information. Either way if they manage to do it they are not to be trusted and should be burned for witchcraft and sorcery.

 
So I emailed Tripwire after my disappointment at their DLC discount.  They responded pretty quickly and while they were non-committal (they said they are always experimenting with pricing but don't know what their future pricing may be), it's always nice to get a respond.  They did say that they've never intended their DLC to be 75% off, but I don't really think that's true I do think that's their current policy.  I'm hoping the release for KF2 will loosen their purse strings.  I mean when you are bundling complete bundles it doesn't really make sense to be stingy with the DLC discount.
