They're both FEAR, and that's generally a good thing. Extraction (SP-only) is better than Perseus (SP+MP). I went ahead and just bought FEAR and it does indeed come with both expansions. The store page is just horribly unclear.

Yes! to Long Live the Queen sale.  Nabbed that right quick (after waking up).

Is Kane & Lynch as bad as the hubub that went on when it released?  Thinking about grabbing that or Payday 1 before the sale ends.  Is Payday still worth getting since the sequel is out?

 
Personally thought both of the Kane & Lynch games were terrible and I ignored the bad press they received. They both were just terrible games with bad shooting mechanics, a horrible story with unlikable characters, and were an overall mess.

I think the original Payday would be a lot of fun if you have friends to play with. I'm not sure how populated the online still is for it but that series is really one that should be played with people.

Lots of people still play the first Payday. Ive not touched it since 2 has been out, but a lot of my friends list has been playing it since its been rock bottom. If you've not played it before, its a good intro to the gameplay, but 2 really is an improvement in every respect. As for Kane and Lynch, the first one is DOG SHIT, the 2nd one is as well, but I found 2 more tolerable just for the story's WTF moments.

Today IMO is the worst day of the sale so far for me. Hoping the next batches of Flash/CC are better. I finally bought a daily deal yesterday though.

In good news for me as a gamer and a greedy bastard, Ive been playing Sniper Elite III and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Its an improvement in every respect over V2, especially the AI. The greedy bastard in me is ecstatic I had my first foil drop (a summer card) in forever, which I already sold b/c I am a greedy bastard lol

I played K&L 1 (solo) and K&L 2 (coop) in the last two years and enjoyed them both. I liked the characters and theme.

The odds of winnning the free games aren't as absurd as people make it seem. 1 million points is at most 1 million seperate people eligible. Divide that by 30 winners and you have a 1/33,333 chance of winning. Realistically, we know that there are even less people than 1 million in the potential winners pool due to summer badges and people crafting multiple badges. I would make a conservative estimate of 500,000 eligible, making the odds 1/16,666. Still a longshot, but good enough odds for me to drop 60 cents on a badge the day my team wins, aka every day.

If you're already on the team, that makes sense. I think it makes less sense to buy tokens to transfer teams, etc but if you're already there then hey why not cash in your obligatory point?

 
My green team isn't doing so hot with last place finishes the last 2 days...today they're in second. I want to do my second summer badge...so today might be the day for that.

 
Bought Deus Ex The Fall and the Fear 2 Single Player DLC (Didn't know there even was SP DLC for the game).  I actually enjoyed Fear 2 quite a bit, so it should be fun to go back and play.

Thanks for reminding me that The Fall is on sale too, I think I'll pick that up. I always forget that when a game's on sale, the others in a series probably will be too.

 
If you're on the winning team it seems worth it to craft a badge. You'll get three summer cards which won't quite pay for the badge now after steam takes their cut, but will come pretty close. It was better earlier in the sale when you could make a profit on the summer cards.

 
This points race is brilliant on Valve's part.   Yes, it costs them thousands of dollars a day in potential sales, but most wouldn't have bought those 50 and 60 dollars games on their list anyway.

In exchange, teams are pouring out thousands and thousands of dollars a day to try to win or be in the top 3.

All this push to get first place for an extra 20 cent card and tiny chance at winning free games.  When you factor in that they get a piece of all game and card sales in the first place, it's gotta be a good time financially for Valve.

This whole thing is messed up in some ways.  When somebody can spend hundreds of dollars to "win" 150 to 180 dollars in games and somehow still feel like they're ahead, you've pretty much managed to brainwash them.

As an arm's salesman behind the velvety curtain of the "war", I can safely say Steam's not the only one profiting nicely on the foolish.

 
You know I  strongly miss when Valve used to have their fun activities for the sales such as the Summer carnival where you gathered tickets. I had a hell of a lot of fun, played a lot of games, won games and DLC and spent a bunch of course. I would look at each days achievement list and would be like yeah I have that one, that one is cheap, that one is kind of cheap...ugg getting them all and trying to earn my 3 tickets. I miss that Valve...they seemed to really want us to have a blast in their sales. Now it's all about the money and it makes me sad. Plus those achievement games were usually lesser known so it gave them some spotlight. All the lesser known games in this sale have been overshadowed in votes so it's all AAA all the time repeated over and over. My 2 cents of course.

At a cheap price, I think Kane & Lynch 2 is a really crazy, short, enjoyable co-op game. I played through it with a friend in one sitting (it's about 4 hours long) and had a blast.

It's the kind of game that people were angry about paying full price for, but if you're getting it for a few bucks it's a totally competent and kind of stylish third person shooter.

And to add to a previous post, yeah the thing Kane & Lynch 2 has going for it is its style. Its very unique and the story is just so fucked up that its worth a few pennies just to check out.

That one is a bit out of my price range, but you did give me a great idea. On top of needing a backlit one, my desk doesn't have much room for a keyboard AND I just got a tablet so I think I'm going to refocus my search from a gaming keyboard to a compact bluetooth tablet keyboard that I can use between my desktop and my tablet.

I have my fingers crossed for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 to be on sale for 2.50 or under.  I know it's been on sale a lot recently and I have no idea why I didn't buy the game.  :wall:

 
The 3 games I want most are Double Dragon Neon, Ikaruga, and Strider.

All 3 have been in CC batches (DD and Strider were in the same one) and all 3 lost. Ive voted in every single community choice thus far and Id not be surprised if my voting winning percentage was less than 10. It seems almost everything I vote for loses, except for the votes where I don't give a crap at all about any of the games.

With the front page of the sale heavy in repeats, I really hope we get repeats of my 3.

I miss that Valve...they seemed to really want us to have a blast in their sales. Now it's all about the money and it makes me sad. Plus those achievement games were usually lesser known so it gave them some spotlight. All the lesser known games in this sale have been overshadowed in votes so it's all AAA all the time repeated over and over. My 2 cents of course.

I feel for you....Ikaruga missed it's 75% off as well and I wanted the Pixel Boy game a bit cheaper too. Sucks when they almost "rig" the votes by placing popular games on one side and the other side has mostly unknown to the usual Steam sale crowd games.

 
This sale is bad.  It's time they 'refresh' the 'go-to's' they recycle every major sale.  The ones that have been up there for the last two or three years again and again -- don't think we need Deus Ex HR as two or three featured deals for $5 for the fiftieth time.

Sadly, that is probably never going to happen again. I enjoyed it as well but, as others have pointed out, it's just too easy to cheat.

Ah, sorry - no, I don't know much about the Tropico DLC. I've only played the game for a short while.

I have gaming ADD. I start something, then play something else and get wrapped up in it and abandon the previous game. Playfire has been pure hell for me in that regard.

I voted against Ikaruga specifically because of the results of the OOTP 15 vote. Samson bringing down the temple, yo.
