I've seen people post their list twice on the same page, it's just unnecessary.

I wish more people would use the spoiler tag for bundled games or at least have a separate thread for that and one for non steam games.

A new post every page is a bit too much. I think a better rule would be a new post every 48 hours.

Problem is that with how fast this thread moves, and the fact that most everyone only looks at the latest page (because of how fast the thread moves), you're basically forced to post once a page if you actually want to have luck selling anything.

It's just a fast moving group sale thread, I don't see anything wrong with reposting per page, but people do need to delete their old ones, and make sure they aren't posting more than once a page. Old, undeleted posts get outdated and show up in the thread search.

And the forum rule of three bumps a day (I believe it was) still applies here, from what I know, meaning three posts per 24 hours on this thread.

i agree with this - or even once every 72hrs. it would save me from combing thru the same listings everyday.

i agree that the thread is fast moving, but maybe limiting posts to once every 48-72hrs might slow it down some.

The thread really needs to be split into three separate threads.

1) Not for profit group buys. (At cost group packs looking for members)
2) Indie Bundle Trading (Thread for trading steam keys for games that have been bundled, including a master list of such games)
3) Steam Trading (A list for trading everything else)

Right now bundle trash overrides legit stuff, and profiteering gets in the way of non-profit group buys.

Sounds like a really good idea. I know as a buyer, I'd find it much easier to navigate between 3 different threads depending on what I was interested in as opposed to mixing it all up in one thread.

Although, sellers could find it much more difficult to keep track of all their posts and continuously trying to update their games list between the threads.
 
Moving indie game keys and having 2 threads would be best in my opinion. This thread is flooded with those cheap crappy indies and people don't know how to hide their lists so their posts are half a page long.

Agree with the 3 above. Or at least somewhat. Should be a Group Buy Thread (nonprofit), and Trades at least. I don't mind Indie being mixed with the rest personally but it does increase the speed of the thread dramatically.

I don't think it would slow it down, considering people here do delete their previous post when they make a new post on the new page, yet the thread has grown 5 pages in half a day. In 48 hours it would be 15-20 pages, 20-30 pages per 72 hours. Don't expect people to dig through that many pages to see your post, people don't check this page many times a day and they will just see the few last pages. Heck I even saw that people here made new post looking for the exact thing at the exact price (sometimes even higher, ridiculously) that someone was selling right on the previous page. I bet if making new post is limited to one per 48-72 hours page, after 24 hours, you won't be able to trade anything advertised in your trade post anymore, that's when you must wait for another 48 hours in order to just have luck trading anything...If you're a buyer and you really dig through that many pages to find a seller, well good luck, many things were going on while you digging through 10 pages, you're probably late, The seller didn't have time to edit/delete their post after running out of what they were selling..

Not to mention that many deals on store sites don't last over 24 hours, and the prices in many of our trades here are based on those deals.

Imo, this thread is fine the way it has been. If you want to sell something so bad, especially when you have many copies of games to sell, check this thread more frequently, make a new post on a new page, delete your previous one to keep the thread clean, you can't just throw a post and wait 72 hours without doing anything and think that will work. If you want to buy or look for a good deal, it takes two mouse clicks to do a search for a good deal here. See a pack deal and looking to join a group buy ? you can't miss those people who are hosting, they are always on the last few pages from what i've seen. You can also make a post looking to join a group buy and get ready to be contacted. If you throw a post and go away you will just miss a lot. But i can agree that a separate thread for non-profit group buy would be nice, whoever suggested that, good idea.

This. Group buying should definitely be separate. And it should be 1 post per day max on the trade thread, not per page. You'd just get the same 25-30 people constantly reposting so they can get on the last page.

There are some people I have bought from and who are great people, but seeing their SAME post every page is ridiculous. I have so many people on my ignore list at this point just to keep the clutter down. I'd say about 50% of the pages I view are ignored posts. Nothing personal to anyone, but it's just too much. I pretty much ignore anyone who has long lists of games without prices and wants offers. Bartering just takes up too much time.

There are a lot of people posting as resellers with inflated prices too. I don't need Gary's Mod bad enough to pay $5 for it when it's going to be $2.50 EVERY STEAM SALE. Some of these are so obvious too. People are buying games on sale somewhere then reselling at a markup the day after the sale is over. Who wants to buy Crazy Machines for $2.50? Anyone?

I have nothing against all the indie game posts. I buy or trade for plenty when there's like one key in a bundle I already own everything from. I don't think that's really the problem here. It's post frequency.
