STEAM Weekend Deal: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 $9.99 (also EA price drops!)
Have you ever seen dudes like that in real life jumping while engaging the enemy? I sure haven't.
All I said was that in my mind, spacebar = jump (in shooters). I really don't think about it that much, especially not to the point of considering what tactics the game characters would use in real life.

I recommend Red Alert 3 at that price.

On another note, is there a way to have your retail (before it was steamed) RA3 validated on steam? I've tried inputting my cd key and no dice.

simply put no only valve games can be store bought and have the cd keys registered on steam.

No.

Incorrect. While it's true that the vast majority of games on Steam can't be activated using their retail CD keys, it's not true that "only valve games" feature retail + steam activation. Alpha Prime, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Dawn of War Soulstorm, Defense Grid (keys fom D2D), Football Manager 2009, GTI Racing, GTR Evolution, Lost Planet, NBA 2K9, Prey, RACE, RACE 07, Ragdoll Kung Fu, Red Orchestra, SiN Episodes: Emergence, Saint's Row 2, The Ship, STCC - The Game, and Worldwide Soccer Manager can all have their retail keys registered on Steam, and some of them require it.

I am most tempted by Mass Effect but it almost seems like it will be similar to BioShock and go on sale perhaps for $5-10 soon. I'll probably wait until then, I still have Christmas games I have yet to install from their sale, lol

I have to say that I'm really disappointed with R6V2 after buying it and playing it online last night. It is another poor port to the PC. $10 wasted.

re: Mass Effect, there are tons of complaints of crashes and instability, and at first I couldn't even get the game to launch. My system runs Vista x64 Home Premium. After trying the .EXE in both compatibility mode AND "run as administrator" to no avail, I deleted the entire install and downloaded again (took a couple hours). In the interim, I stumbled upon a fix that I was skeptical would work, but I tried it first before anything else. I disabled UAC, restarted, launched the game (it worked), and then reenabled UAC and the game still works.

Runs flawlessly now, an hour or so of playing, no crashes, no freezes. Smooth as butter, too, on my rig. Just a success story in case anyone is wary of the game. I will say, I use a 4870 and it seems most issues stem from Nvidia drivers/cards, so obviously a sample size of one means di*k in the end, but maybe someone will get it at this price, keep getting errors just trying to start the darn game, and then find this solution. Love the game, btw...this is my fourth game, including the three times on 360.

Thanks saved me 10 bucks, I had read it was not near as good as the console versions, which is weird to me. But I mean huge difference in the scores between console and PC.
