Stop GameStop

Huh. Weird. I do remember that one in Phoenix was nicer. But, the Tucson one had some pretty good stuff. I remember I got a shitload of Dreamcast games (this was when Dreamcast was still in production). I got MvC2 for, I think $14.99, mint.
Well, it was about a year ago that I was there. I'll check it out next time I'm there and see how it is now. They just seemed overpriced compared to EB/GS and GR. And like I said, nearly all the games were in horrible shape (dirty cases, ripped inserts, etc).

Of course, it is entirely possible that all the great games in good condition with great prices were bought up just before I went in and all that was left were the crappy, dirty, overpriced ones ;).

I think one thing were forgetting is that when we go into a store and an employee pushes us to buy more. Thats not the employee's choice that employee is just trying to pay the bills. He's begging you to pre-order something so his/her boss will get of their ass.
More or less, but with GB/EB/GC, preorders don't really mean much, though GC seems to be focusing more on preorders. Edge cards and MVP cards are what get bosses off employees asses.

Yes, I remember when I started going to Gamestop more often.....after 3 months they convinced me during a buy 2 get one free, telling me I'd save $15 [which I did, so the edge was free] and get a magazine subscription, as well as a magazine to walk out with, and let me pick two items from their free gift/pre order cabinet

Of course, now I think you have to be a little lost to not have more/edge if you shop there at least once every three months...it makes bonus $10 and buy 2 get 1 even better.

It's not so much that the card doesn't save, because it does, it's more about convincing the customer to spend $15/$20 on something they may or may not benefit from.

Don't forget that is also helps push used game sales since you get an extra couple percent off with it.
Prepare to be disappointed. They have new games for $1 cheaper than retail, but their used prices suck compared to EB/GS.

I hate them as much as the next person, but they are the lowest retail prices on used games.
Tell me about it. Outside of hiring the most incompentant EBgames manager ever to run the store, they were offering such steals as Dead Rising used $56.99. Or The Godfather used for $57.99. My personal favorite was Final Fantasy IV Advance used for $26.99.

I walked out after about 10 minutes.

Yeah, the "deals" on used games and them constantly pushing pre-orders on you REALLY turned me off. Ironically, I only go in there now for movies; they usually have an eclectic mix of good ones and don't bother you with any of the pre-ordering hard-sells if you aren't buying games.
SaySwap is going a long way towards never going to EB/GS for games (that and gameznflix.com).

Gamestop already threatened to sue him after only 10 days.

If the site gets any popularity whatsoever they'll just have it shut down in an instant or try to rape him through legal fees in the courts, as usual.

fuck Starbucks/Gamestop.

What legal premise could they actually shut him down under? If anything, couldn't he just countersue for being pains in the ass?
