Street Fighter IV - Gen Discussion & Info
people that have it early, where did you buy it?
To my knowledge no stores have broken the release date yet. I got a copy early from work.

You get Seth by
beating Arcade with everyone else
.

Oh, and a reminder: THE GAME IS NOT STREET DATED

EDIT: One more thing for Akuma.
You have to unlock all 6 console-specific exclusives first. You might have to beat Arcade with them first, though.
Akuma and Gouki are the same person. Akuma is his name in the North American version. Gouki is his name in the Japanese version.
He meant Gouken, but that doesn't change the fact that he is correct about them being easy to unlock. The only thing that could hinder people is hitting Akuma's combo.
Kingbroly you just showed 2 ways to unlock someone, 1 almost impossible and 1 seems more realistic. Are you trying to confuse people?
It's just what I read. Someone found a really easy, spamful way to do it, but those are supposedly the requirements to unlock them both. Unless someone can say those aren't the conditions, of course.
The info for Akuma, Gouken, and Seth are wrong.
Do you know what it is? I can add a little memo to the OP below the link.

Akuma:

Unlock Gen, Dan, Sakura, Rose, Fei Long, and Cammy.
Finish Arcade mode with at least one perfect and no continues. Akuma will appear after Seth. Defeat him to unlock.

Gouken:

Finish Arcade Mode with Akuma while getting at least two perfects, two Ultra finishes, and no continues. Gouken appears after Seth. Defeat him to unlock him.

Seth:

Finish Arcade Mode with everyone besides Seth.

Why does it have to be so hard to unlock them? It splinters the player base greatly, unless they plan on releasing DLC to unlock every character.

It's not hard at all...

Set it to easiest, one round.

Cool...I'll add the quote to the OP...thanks.

But still, they want everyone to have the same game(which is why no DLC characters), but they make unlocking characters hard, at least for players that are not very good. Seems like they are going against their own word. Plus it makes some people finish the game faster if they have to change it to 1 round and put the game on easiest setting.

Might want to change it. I'm not sure the exact requirements of Ultras and Perfects for Gouken.

Im not talking about myself, just what they have said.

They want everyone to have the same game, but i can see some people not being able to unlock them. Unless easy is really really easy.

I ended up getting him with 4 ultras and 4 perfects, but X got 2 ultras and 2 perfects and didn't get him.
Odd...I'll make a note of it.
Have any Best Buys?
I just went today to the one near work...they sold out yesterday...I'm going to check the one by my house after work.
Have any Best Buys?
I was @ BB today & they had 2 left. I picked up a Chun Li & there was 1 Blanka.

I asked one of the guys about different characters & he said "you're lucky we even have these."

Haven't played with it yet, but it looks even better than from the pictures.

Requiring people to beat the game without continuing is no big deal - especially since it can be on any difficulty. If you can't accomplish that, you really need to practice until you get better. No need to try to skip the learning curve.

Picked up a Blanka FightPad at Best Buy...I called ahead and they only had 2, they put both on hold for me so that I could choose. I haven't tested it but it looks very nice and feels really comfortable, just wish it was a tad heavier.

My first impression of the game, very mediocre, I'm beginning forget why the street fight series is so revered. a fun game but not the best fighter around.
and its too bad 3rd xbox controllers have to be wired.

So...I'm assuming you played it in the arcade? Did you play against other people or just the computer? If you weren't playing against any competition, then you really don't know why it is so revered. Reviews I've seen so far have likened it to the heyday with the available competition for the game.

like I said it was only first impression, there seems like there could be a lot of depth with the added modes and mutiplayer, but I will have to wait for that until its release to see more of that. I just remember Loving all the other streets fighters, and this one doesn't really seem to improve or add anything that wonderful, plus I'm not really liking any of the new characters or the player models for that matter.

And people who pirate this game suck.
I agree I work in the gaming field, so I would never like to see someone steal my work.

I Fix/Mod 360's PM for info

I don't think modifying other people's Xbox 360 systems so that they can pirate games counts as working in the videogame field, but maybe that's just me.

What? Surely you jest. No one around here pirates games. Not the same dozen people who have every game a week before launch do.

Go back to crazyland, crazy.

I just got my SFIV Fightpad from gamestop.com, Ryu 360 version. Havent tested it out on any games yet, but wow the dpad is very loose. plus it feels rubbery which makes me feel like i cant slide my thumb accross. Ill give it some tests later tonight, but wow...wasnt expecting the dpad to be so loose.

Pirate? How? Where? :D
Don't think its been mentioned...IGN gave it a 9.3
They say the online MP isn't where the game is best, but at the singleplayer...so maybe I'll pick this up when I can get it for around 30...

I've been pulling off moves in HD Remix really easily. :D

Yeah i just tested it out. The dpad doesnt look that big compared to my thumb, but it feels big. I mean up, down, left, right are really easy to press and register all the time. But the diagonals are hard to hit unless you reach for them. I found myself hitting the Sho Ryuken(forward, down, forward+down) a lot compared to trying to do it with the regular 360 analog. But the fire balls were another story. If i used the tip of my thumb they would only happen so often, but if i used the pad of my thumb it would register a lot more. I dunno if the controller needs breaking in or i just need to get used to it. But overall it feels like a good controller, buttons are nice. I just hope this dpad can register at all times once i get used to it. Mainly talking about diagonal moves.

Ohh yeah there is a SFIV theme 4, which looks a bit silly.... some kind of cook off going on? And new gamerpics with only chicks, but i dont like them that much. They are reusing too much of the same art over and over.

Yeah I just watched the video review and a few of the things I didn't like they did, I guess I was wrong

Has anyone who put a pre-order for the TE stick at a GameStop B&M actually had their stick arrive in store yet? I got a call from the corporate line saying my TE stick should've arrived at my local GameStop this past Tuesday, but so far, they've not gotten anything in yet. I'm just wondering if others have had the same experience.

Not yet. And I got backordered by Capcom. I have a feeling I won't be getting any out of 3 orders.

Nope, in NorCal, same deal.

I've called like five different Gamestops here in the area and none of them have it...but they all have different stories as to why they aren't here yet. And they all have different stories as to WHEN they'll be here. I'm not holding my breath for anything in particular.
