Stuck in Portal... Please Help!! [use Porta gen. discussion thread]

Not sure if I am posting this in the right spot, so please move this post if necessary : ) !

I am totally stuck at Test Chamber 18 in Portal (on OB). I went in, killed all the shooter things, and the door locked behind me. I cannot come up with any way to move across the deadly goop. Could someone please advise on how to get across to the cube if the area behind is sealed? Or is there a way to reopen the door without going across? The platform is not moving.

I think I know what you're talking about and funny enough what spoils how to do it is the trailer that plays when you first turn on orange box and let it sit at the menu for a bit.

I got stuck there for a while as well (I must've missed the trailer ). You're not stuck because of the door though. I can't remember how I did it, so I can't help you, but I know I figured it out somehow .

There's probably something on GameFAQs if you don't figure it out, so you can just go there.
