Suikoden IV Official Webpage

If you head over to the "Promotions" section you'll notice that they have quite a sweet liittle promotion going on right now. Basically, after you give Konami some personal information, you can enter special passwords in order to get some nice free stuff. 3 passwords scores you a CD of Suikoden music, 5 passwords gets you a Suikoden coin, and lastly, 7 passwords get you a wallscroll. As of now, I've found the following codes:

1. Electronic Gaming Monthly advertisement: magsnowe48
2. Suikoden Flash Puzzle Game: chiepoo19
3. Suikoden Flash Battleship Game: kooluk63

Right there are already enough passwords to at least score the CD. The "Clues" section also reveals that the Suikoden IV Art Book also has a code in it. If anyone could help the CAGs out with that code, I'm sure we'd all be very grateful. As of now, I suspect that there's probably also a password included with the game itself, maybe the player's guide? More magazine advertisements? Keep an eye open.

I just got the game registration email. Is this the only email people have been getting, or have there been emails about the promotion as well?
 
I've been searching the strategy guide extensively and I can't find anything. I checked a bunch of pages that have signifigance to the series (4, 108, ect) and I can't see anything. It's not a small guide (222 pages), so it'll take some time to find it if there's anything in here :/

Yeah, I can imagine... They're not going to be happy. Or they're not going to care... Seriously, everything in the promotion just seems to scream 'we're giving away free stuff, get it however you can!'. Hopefully they do something about this random code inputting though.

I'd look in the guide for a 5th code, but I really don't wanna have anything ruined for me as I have yet to begin the game.

I'm pretty sure that's what everyone has received.
 
For those who can't get some of the codes to work, make sure you don't have any spaces before or after the code or it won't work. For instance, "chiepoo19 " won't work but "chiepoo19" will.

I'm glad to hear that since my copy of the game is arriving tomorrow probably. I usually like to level up my characters pretty high anyway, so I don't think the random battles will bother me too much.

You will be amazed how quickly you level up, the random battles become annoying because a lot of them won't offer exp. worth the battle effort.

Doesn't sound like anything was changed since the first game. By the time you level up high enough you should have a killer party so the Auto command can be used at will.
 
Hey, I just entered the first 5 given. Thank you very much for this. I also used a number with 5 digits, and got
it to work. ALSO, I used two MORE 5 digit numbers, and they also worked. I read the beginning part and did not see anythign about entering more than one number from the art book. So, hopefully, by doing this, I will be able to get those items.
 
Yeah, Auto command is a must. It's just annoying when it takes you 25 mins to traverse the sea because of so many random battles. Fortunately you get the teleport ability fairly quickly in the game.

The auto command only works for one round. Basically moving at sea gets really old when you move 5 inches and then another random battles, in the water its very easy to forgot which island your aiming for. It doesn't ruin the game or anything, its still far better than 3 I just wished they could have perhaps reduced the encounter rate.

I currently have 8 codes, and I didn't use multiple artbook codes. I used mine, because frankly, I believe cheating someone else out of their chances sucks. (I could have kept it secret, but I wanted to give others a fair chance too.)

8 codes, and only 1 artbook code used. Wrap your head around that, and let the rumors begin!

I was trying to get into a discussion to have others get the wallscroll in a legit way, but they called BS.

I've experimented, and 3 more codes are possible at the moment. You guys were fucktards, and getting on my case when I'm trying to help everyone out.

I'd hardly call you bragging about having extra codes no one knows and not giving them out "trying to help"

It seems a lot more like lieing/bragging to make yourself look cooler and get attention.

If you had actually read my post over at LJ, you would have seen I wasen't posting about finding 8 codes. I had found 5 codes then, and decided to share information with them.

I try to give you guys 3 more codes in a legit way, and I get my ass reamed for trying to contribute. Back the hell off people, I just posted how to get it.

See that wasn't so hard to do was it? If you had done that from the start you would have avoided some of this. Although, I think this method is just as shady as the artbook method, and actually, probably more likely to fail, if Konami even cares. I'd hardly call doing this legit. So maybe you shouldn't have said anything afterall?

Like entering in 3+ artbook codes isn't likely to fail? I'm giving a different method, which won't screw other people with the artbook.

It accepts it as legit codes.

And your method isnt' 3 new codes its a bug in the system and only slightly less shady than stealing other artbook codes.

I post a way I've found; so far; to do so without having to obtain artbook codes.

Artbook codes may or may not fail, it's very possible someone actually owns 2 or 3 artbooks, your way is simply cheating.

In case you didn't read my other posts in this thread, I'm anti-using multiple artbook codes if you don't actually own multiple artbooks.
