Suikoden V: Free artbook AND LE soundtrack preorder at ebgames (B&M, no online yet)

Well I was at Gamestop and they just handed me an artbook and it has the music cd in it. I told them about GS.com and they were suprised about the trouble GS.com puts us through with preorder bonuses. I will wait and see if I still get the artbook and cd from GS.com. I have one now so I'm not so worried about it anymore.

WOW!! I am shocked....The exact opposite of what's happening to everyone here has happened to me. My art book and cd have been shipped, but my game still hasn't. I don't understand why that is, but I hope I get it soon

so, who's tried their S V yet? if it's anything like the first 3, i'll be ecstatic. hopefully they, ummm, overhauled the voice actors and utterly horrible silent protagonist from S IV. S IV, imo, didn't work in so many ways, from an underwhelming story to tedious traveling to horrible character interaction. Dragon Quest VIII pulls off a silent hero very well, but it also has excellent voice actors. could be the difference. at least in DQ 8 the guy doesn't have a damn helmet for hair.

It is very much like Suikoden 2 in terms of gameplay. The voice actors are hit or miss but thats the case with most RPGs. The story is very front loaded too.
 
Just got my bonus from a Gamestop B&M, they were very sympathetic.

If anyone wants to trade my artbook / CD for their Gamecrazy art cell, let me know.

The gamestops around where I live suck, they are just as worse as gs.com
I went to 3 of them and explained my situation and they all just didn't give a crap. The usual response was sorry you could only get the artbook if you preordered, meanwhile most stores have quite a few extras and I am sure that out of the 3 I went to at least 1 had to have some extras. The second gamestop I went to didn't even have the game.
Nothing has ever gone right with any gamestop I have ever come in contact with. i will never deal with them again. Where else can I pre-order and get bonuses, anyone know? Besides gamestop and ebgames.

I'm a few hours in and so far it seems much better than III & IV. The voice acting has been pretty good, though the hero doesn't speak.
 
I've scored 5 artbooks the past two days.. 3 today. 2 of the 3 I got today I got by accident kinda. And I still got my preorder coming in the mail.
 
And I mean I got two by accident because the last two times I went to gamestops I asked if they had any artbooks. If they said they didn't or couldn't give me one, I would have returned Suikoden V for a refund. But both the last two gamestops didn't give a shit and just said here, take it.
 
hey chaarlieee, I only have one artbook/cd with my game I picked up a few days ago. Any chance I can get one of your extras? My area didn't get much extras.

I'm testing out eBay first to see how much I can get because I am extremely broke.. I don't even think I'm going to keep the game. I'm might try to milk out a few more bonus cds though. If I can't get any sold, I'll just let em go here for real cheap.

I've been away for the past few days, so I don't know if this happened to other people, but I just got ANOTHER shipment confirmation from Gamestop, this time for the artbook alone. Perhaps they are sending it out to try to make amends, even though I never contacted them about it? What would be more hilarious, though, is if they sent me an empty package.

EDIT: Saw that this happened to other people. Well, we'll see in a few days what happens.
 
Also, if you try to get a bonus from an ebgames even though you ordered from gamestop, will they give you a bonus? I haven't tried any ebgames, just gamestops.
 
Nope or at least most likely not. They're still two seperate stores, but you could get lucky and they could just give you extras. If all you're doing is reselling them on eBay though, why don't you leave the freebies for people that actually want them...

If people did want them, there shouldn't have been any leftovers. Shows you that just a few or nobody at all preordered Suikoden V at certain stores.

Besides, you're acting like I took them all. I'm sure those gamestops I got art books from still have plenty behind the counter.
 
No, I'm acting like you're another one of those asinine eBay resellers that use this site to exploit deals from retailers just to pad your broke ass with a $50 profit. If all you're going to do is try and acquire extra copies w/o even keeping the game, then do so, but don't come into the thread trying to check out your ploys ahead of time by asking if X retailer will fall for this trick or if you can return X game at Y store...

Oh no, I'm about to cry. Someone is taking offense to me picking up copies of an art book that is literally sitting at numerous locations that NOBODY wants just because I'm trying to find a way to make a profit for my brokeass full time student who can't get a job because of his fucking class schedule? Good job of making yourself look like an ass. If people want to buy an art book on eBay, why should you give a fuck? Like I said, I might just give em to people here for cheap if I don't sell them on eBay. So just spare the rest of whatever else you have to say.

No way do I ever want shit from another person, but when it happens on a message board, I should really care less. That's why I won't respond back to you after this post. I'd agree that you should do the same.

Went to a Gamestop yesterday while shopping w/ my girlfriend. Asked if they had any extra pre-order bonuses and when a CSR found one, I asked what I had to do to get it. Nice guy was kind enough to just give it to me. WOOHOO!

Do what you wish but if Gamestop can't ship me any extra artbooks because they moronically sent them to all the B&M stores and run out of artbooks because people are going around getting the extra artbooks, then I'll have to behead you. :)
 
got my artbook in the mail today, I'm surprised Gamestop wasn't BSing this time, this will still be the last time I preorder from them though cause its not worth the trouble

the artbook is a little disappointing, I was expecting something more like the Suikoden IV artbook

I like the art book - the soundtrack more than makes up for the size IMO.
 
My game was shipped on the 24th. Today is the 28th. UPS says I'll get my game on the 30th.

How exactly is that 3 day shipping? WTF?

Just won that art cell for $25 shipped on Ebay... it's kind of pricey, but I figure it will always hold its value seeing as that it was a Gamecrazy exclusive, and there really is a ton of them floating around, not even on Ebay.

I just hope it is as beautiful as it is in the pictures.

The guide for this game is very very great, as well.

Did we get the same guide? This is the worst guide I've bought in a long time. Maybe I'm just approaching it from the idea of needing a guide for a Suikoden game instead of a guide in general but this guide is worthless. The guide for IV was perfect for Suikoden in every way but this was such a huge step backwards. No more maps, no more check lists, etc. It's pathetic.

I only paid $6 and liked the tons and tons of artwork =/

For some reason I'm really a sucker for Suikoden V's artwork, yet I've never played the game. I was in such a rush when I added that in to the end, I never really looked over the guide for accuracy, I just noticed it was a pretty decent sized guide and had some nice artwork.

I still need to get that Suikoden IV book...

Sweet - I love artwork. Is it on par w/ that found in the LE Art book from GS/EB?

I ordered it from Amazon.com but it STILL hasn't arrived for distribution. Apparently, the expected ship date is June 4th, 2006. :shock: I'll wait a few more days until I cancel my order and shop somewhere else. But are there any other online retailers that have it besides BradyGames.com and GS.com with a discount?

I know the Wal-Mart and Target sites typically discount guides pretty well. Though this is from experience, I haven't checked the actual cost for the Suiko V guide...
