Super Bowl Pool: ATTN: SARAUSAGI please PM MGRIFF ASAP
Just wait...March Madness is just around the corner. :)
Yeah, this was a lot of fun...I'll definitely be down for some March Madness!

Ouch, he's 12 for 12 in FG in the playoffs until that ugly miss to end the first half. A FG away from taking the 2nd Q from you! Congrats to all the winners...

I'd appreciate a PM from briansraregames (or someone) after the selections are made to let me know where to ship the game. My interest in this thread is zero since I didn't win. ;)
The winners of the high stakes pool will meet in the chat room at 10PM EST tonight.
It will be hard for me to devote a chunk of time at that time of day (I have small kids and that is clean-up/bed time [8pm my time]). I usually check the site regularly most of the day but only for a few minutes at a time.

So I guess this is directed towards Desiboi1992, Prepster, and maybe Briansraregames for the High Stakes pool. If we want to do it all at once through the chat room, any way to do it prior to 6pm EST? I most likely could do it all at once if we can do it earlier.

Otherwise, I would suggest just alternating picks through PMs. I know this isn't as efficient as what Briansraregames suggested, but it does provide more flexibility.

I should be fine with 9 PM EST if thats how you want to go about doing it instead of doing it thru pms

Briansraregames - PMed

Well, I updated the OP with the who won what info for pool #1. I suggest that Sonderiaom and Mgriff send each of the non-winners a PM with their shipping info.

Should the winners leave feedback for the sender once they receive their prize? At least this way it is documented that the person did get their game.
Should the winners leave feedback for the sender once they receive their prize? At least this way it is documented that the person did get their game.
Yes, it was decided that it would be appropriate for those receiving games to leave feedback.
I talked with Shrike today, and it was said that no feedback should be left for these pools.
What was the reasoning behind that? If people send games and people recieve games, shouldn't the people sending them get some feedback as well?
I talked with Shrike today, and it was said that no feedback should be left for these pools.
That sounds rather stupid. I'd like to know the reasoning behind that as well. I sent out three games and have absolutely nothing to show for it, at least receiving feedback would show that the people involed kept their word.

feedback should be left for the people sending out the games but maybe not to the winners...since that would be a ton of feedback in one shot either way though it is still honering a "deal" and when it is completed feedback should be appropiate

Yes, I agree - feedback only for those sending.

i contacted Shrike to get clarification on providing feedback.

It's not a trade that's been done on CAG, it's a contest.

This is an artifical way to inflate feedback, and feedback isn't appropriate to any part of this process.

Simple luck would end up with some people with inflated feedback numbers. It's random chance for why some people end up with lots of games and others with nothing. It also lopsides the feedback with a mismatched set of senders and receivers.

one part of this process that feedback would help would be if anybody that lost decided they did not want to honer the wager, at least people would know that he backed out and may not be trustworthy

It's not a CAG trade, it's a contest. Random chance determines who ends up with what, if anything. Feedback isn't appropriate.

If there's a problem in the established trade process with someone not followin through on a trade, then that's something we'll deal with at that time.

I am sorry Shrike, but I respectfully disagree.

I do not understand the how the nature of the transaction or how the role of chance comes into play here. If the winners were going to receive feedback I would agree, but they would not.

I believe the exchange of an item offered during a pool would be considered a transaction. No one entered the pool with the intent to inflate their feedback rating. And since the winners will not receive any feedback I don't think anyone's feedback score will be significantly inflated.

As taken from the CAG Guide to Trading and Selling guidlines, "The Trader Rating system is the only "official" rating system here, chronicling how many times (and how effectively) that user has completed a transaction on CAG."

Those that have, or will, live up to their side of a bargain should, in my opinion, be rewarded with the use of positive feedback. As such, someone who does not live up to their promise should have consequences. Wouldn't we want to acknowledge those who did not act as promised through negative feedback? Otherwise, there is no penalty for persons who decide not to send what they offered.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but I do feel I owe something to those who have followed through on the arrangement.

I disagree as well.

While I wasn't guaranteed to get anything in return.
I committed to send a game.
If I didn't honor that, I would expect a negative.

I second of course.

It never crossed my mind that the people sending out the games would not garner positive feedback.

ive already left feedback for these. i dont expect to recieve feedback but you can be sure ill leave feedback to those that send games and i damn will leave a negative for someone who backs out.

I think earning feedback for sending your game due to the SB pool is even more reliable than someone completing a trade. As a pool loser, I'm not gaining a single thing from sending my game to the winner. So there's even more incentive for someone to default and not send. If someone does send then I think it should be noted in their feedback.

I don't think the winners should receive return feedback for it as they obviously could be mishapen creatures who had no intention of ever completing their end of the bargain if they lost :)

Well, it looks like some CAGs are still not living up to their end of the deal:

Sarausagi has yet to send or even contact mgriff about her prize. I preferred to deal with this in private, but she is not responding to any PM attempts. Please contact mgriff as soon as possible.
Looks like SARAUSAGI already sold their Wii component cables on ebay...

Sadly, it doesn't look like Prepster will be getting his prize. What should we do about this?
Not sure but it really sucks. This will probably ruin Super Bowl pools for everyone when Cheapy or a mod decides that it's more trouble than it's worth to allow this stuff. Too bad because it gave me a rooting interest in a game I didn't really care about. I would like to hear sarausagi's side of all this though.

I wouldn't let one bad apple spoil it for everbody. As far as I know, Sarausagi is the only person to not send out their games, 50 or so other CAGs kept their word, so overall I still think the pool was a sucess.
