Super Punch-Out!! unlockable in Fight Night sequel

Sweet!
Hmmmm

Should I get rid of my original ?

I wont be buying that game new as I rarely do anymore at least not until it gets into the $20 price point...

But I wonder if it will devalue so to say teh SNES Super Punchout?

Damn good news. More people need to play the best boxing game ever made! Super Punch Out is sitting in my SNES right now!

Dammit, why does nintendo keep bringing its characters to ea games? It makes it so hard to continue the boycott! Well, not that I would've gotten Figth Night anyway but still. It'd be cool if they were partnering with a less-hated company.

Fight Night is a good game. It is how boxing games should be. As much as I hate EA, I will be picking up atleast 2 copies of NBA Street Vol. 3 (Xbox, GCN) and I will buy Fight Night.

If they make it as "unlockable" as they did Punch-Out in Animal Crossing, I wouldn't bother.

Still have my SNES cart around anyway, not too worried :)

Wow, well, if this is the case, I'll be getting Fight Night when it hits 20 dollars.

I'm glad they are reaching out to third parties, and this is a pretty cool way to do that, as well as Link in SCII, and Mario in NBA Street V3.

Glad to see that Nintendo is making a concerted effort to increase sales of third-party games on their console.

And about online play? Why should they include it on the Gamecube version, so the hundreds of people that bought a Gamecube network adaptor can play each other? If you want to play Fight Night online, buy the PS2 or XBox version. Nintendo is way too far behind in the online arena to make any sort of impact with this generation of consoles. It would simply be money and time wasted to include an online mode in Fight Night Round 2 for the Nintendo Gamecube.

Gamespot just confirmed this, as well as Little Mac being an unlockable character for the main game. Might have to buy it just for the Macster.

Damn it. I wasn't going to buy this, since I have Super Punch Out for the SNES, but if you can play as Mac, then I might just have to put down the cash...

if they can somehow get the rights to stick Mike Tyson in the game I would buy this at the first price drop.

as it is, I will rent it, as playing as Little Mac is going to be awesome

Mike Tyson would totally rule if he could be in the game. I remember those one hit uppercuts. I never beat him on the orginal NES, but I did beat him using an emulator with and then without save states after I got good enough.
I will only buy this if Lil Mac can run through the streets of Philly, like the original
maybe Doc will be in his corner

Pretty cool...I will probably pick it up once it goes to $20. I never really played super punch-out (Genesis back then) but I loved Punch-Out. Mike Tyson was super simple to beat once you learned how to quick dodge.

Gabby jay: "yay"

any way I read In nintendo power Super punchout is not an unlockable game, it is right on the menu. So you can choose what game you want to play but, little Mac however sounds like a character you have to unlock.

I wish some how they kept Little Mac looking like the old nes days, just with the updated graphics. Anyhoot still a must buy for me as I would've gotten it for my Cube any way.

It would be cool if Doc was still in the game and Mario was a Ref and Don Flamingo was in the audience.

Damn EA. My Ninttendo loyalty is rising. I might have to get this one for the GCN with Super Punch Out. It really is the best old boxing game and best new one. I wonder if Little Mac will be unlockable character in the Fight Night portion of the game?

So Super Punch Out is in Fight Night AND Little Mac is a selectable fighter.
I NEED THIS GAME NOW!!!
Is that a pic of Little Mac? He looks retarded. Still no EA for me.
He looks more like the character from Super Punch Out. Was the main boxer in Super Punch Out also Mac? I have the game, but can't find the manual to see what his name is...

Boxing would be fun online but, like someone said Gamecube hasn't been an online console. So to me for the peeps who don't go online and have a GAmecube and maybe another console, this should swing them to buy this version of the game.
Again, EA/Nintendo trying to compensate for lack of online play with this...
First you people complain about no online play and then you complain when the company tried to provide an exclusive(and damn cool ones at that) so that it will appeal to those who own the system
Stop crying about online play people it doesnt make everything. Sure its fun but given the choice between online play and super punch out...id pick super punch out and guess what? I will :D

It's like my grandfather used to say ""He who does not make declarative statements is less apt to look foolish in retrospect."

That's why the Gamecube is selling so well. Yes, Super Punch Out is really going to help move systems for them. No one cares about online play. /sarcasm

I will definately pick up this game after a price drop. Playing one of my favorite snes games when I was a kid is just to tempting to pass up.
