Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

I dont see why people are speculating that characters like jigglypuff and mewtwo would be scrapped. I mean this update even though its 3 pokemon, is still just one character. If we continue to think about it as one character, and bring back all the returners, its still only 5 pokemon related characters, which fails to compete with the number of Mario universe characters.

Hmmm. I wonder if the callback allows you to really cheat your way out of falling off the stage? Seems like it could be used to do that.

I also hope the transition from one pokemon to the next is speedy.

That reminds me. In a urinal I saw one of those little splash mats that said "SSS Triple" on it.

Talk about a true pee S triple!
So is this the Texas only Smash thread now? I just want to be loved.
If by loved, you mean Smashed.
Then I'll smash you good.

I'm pretty sure Pikachu, Jigglypuff and hopefully Mewtwo (Pichu, too) are wild pokemans as aposed to the ones trainer has.
Boy, was that update AWESOME!
I would of rather had Bulbasaur, Wartortle and Charizard though...
I always like Wartortle. Amazing nonetheless!

Just came to me, I wonder how they are going to deal with the pokeball item version of charizard now. Change it to another pokemon perhaps?

I hope they change it so Wheezing comes out more in place of Charizard.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeziiiiiiiiiiiiiing!

He's always so happy when he comes out, like he finally gotten chosen after years of being stuck in a Pokeball. It's his big chance to shine!

I'm sure Charizard pokeball is out.

You know, I'd rather use Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur.

They were all so much cuter.

Yeah.. But I suspect that Charizard will get a Kirbyesque flight mechanic.. like you get smashed.. you quick switch pokemon in mid air and fly with Charizard.

But my wife would agree with you -- Cute FTW. Me? Charizard has always been one of my favorites, so I'm pleased.

The more they update, the more I want the game.. Can't wait.

Hmmm.

I wonder how Kirby handles power-stealing with these guys? I guess Pokemon specific powers (breathe fire, etc).

You fail at calling the fail!

"I always wanted a Cheap Ass Gamer to be in my game. I always thought Strell was the obvious choice. Look at him go! His crazy mustache power is the key to his success."

^Next update.

HEY. You wipe that smirk offa you face!

That was a joke my friends and I have had with Wheezing for a while. Everytime he pops out we've all gotta scream WHEEEEEEEEEEZIIIIIIIING in this really retarded manner.

He's the only Pokemon who gets to compete in the Special Olympics. For Pokemon.

He puts on the trainers cap and rides a bike....but not inside buildings.

That would be the best power ever.

Imagine a bunch of Wheezings competing in sprints and high jumps. And everyone in the stadium/audience is a Wheezing.

There's just thousands of 'em yelling WHEEEEEEEEEZING! over and over and over.
Haha, I'd imagine squirtles B move is water gun, Charizards is breathing fire, and Ivysaurs is vinewhip.
Nah, totally wrong.

Squirtle breathes fire, Charizard does vinewhip, and Ivysaur has a neat watergun move.

just wondering about the invincibility frames and switch out time for the pokemon, if they'll be able to move/attack right when the pokeball enters the stage or if there will be a second or two of downtime where you'll get pummeled

ZOMG Dallow uzes teh HAX..!

It would be awesome if you could hack Pokemon Trainer to use any three fighters.

Or, there could be a special Pokemon Vs. Battle Mode where you choose PT but pull any three fighters into your arsenal. So I could switch out Luigi/Fox/Captain Falcon.

In fact, I will be sad now if this is not possible.

Ho. Lee. Shit. :D

Somebody asked about the Final Smash for these guys...ignoring the fact that none of them learn it and that it's fire, ice, and electric in the RPGs, what if they use a version of Tri-Attack?

I like the idea of a three-way FS, but I have a feeling they'll be individual, just so you have slightly more choice as to what happens when you get the item.

On another note, they said that switching out too much would be harmful to your Pokémon...is it just me, or does that sound like the invincibility period when you switch is either really short or nonexistent? I can't think of why else switching would be detrimental...

Considering all of the special modes in Melee, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mode like that in the new game.
should be interesting what happens to the trainer when the level gets destroyed or moves around.
The trainer blacks out and loads the last save.

Back when the original SSB was out and SSBM was all but a rumor, I was hoping that one of the characters would be Ash. Hell, I even said it would be cool if, instead of fighting himself, he would send out Pikachu, Charizard, Ivysuar or Squirtle instead. Pretty surreal that it's actually happening.

It would be kinda cool if, like in SSBM, they had "clone" of Red, the PT from D/P who would use the three starters from those games instead.

Not that I'm not loving these new things we are learning about--But seriously, when are we getting the inevitable Peach, MetaKnight, and Snake profiles????
I hope there are more costume change options this time around.
I do too. Unlockable costumes FTW! And make Trophies Assist trophies (I think this is what they're doing anyway)

Yeah same here, since SSB came out at the height of the pokemon craze me and my friends always used to hope for ash as a character. It'll be interesting to play as "Generic Pokemon Trainer".
I hope there are more costume change options this time around.
I'm sure that as well as this Pokémon Trainer character, we'll be getting another generic protagonist in Animal Crossing Resident, and I'm sure half their alternates will be female. And as excited as I was to see Biker Wario make an appearance, it'd be a good to have Classic Wario as an alternate.

If Mario had his Punch-Out referee costume, I wouldn't even care if the game wasn't online.

It would be really cool that instead of changing the color of Pokemon trainer like you can do with other characters, you can change the trainer so you have Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, or Diamond/Pearl starters.

New character sounds pretty cool. Doubt I will ever use him, but cool nonetheless. I really cannot wait for this game.

If mario had all of his cameo costumes, I would die. Costumes need to be costumes and not color swaps.
