Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

Is it wrong that during a match with items on, if someone get the Dragoon Parts completed that I spam taunts? I'd like a CAG opinion on this.

From my experiments, this seems to be most effective with Captain Falcon.
 
Anybody on? I've got a friend over, and we want some online players!

Hey Strell, during our Kirby match, I was thinking that we could make a fun mini game out of Brawl.
Well, during the match when we both kept doing Kirby's Down+B, I thought we could have a set a rules like those of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Pink Boulder beats blue boulder, spiked ball beats blue boulder, and etc.

I think the quickest and easiest way is to get a capture card on a computer with component connects, and then run the Wii through a comp while running a capture program.

BlueLobstah knows how to do it - I need to ask him again.

You can also do it with a GameBridge I think. I know those are cheap at Fry's at such.

Edit: fucking hell, when did these get so expensive? I thought they were 10 bucks or less.

No brawl for me tonight. I just got back from a va-cay-shun.

You don't necessarily have to have a tuner card with composite in, some video cameras will allow you to record via a line-in input as well. But in any case, if you want me to record a match, drop me a line.

A-kon on the 31st... hmm didn't realize they were having one for Brawl since last time I checked it just said pending. I guess since it has a time and is no longer pending I should try to make it. If I enter, I'll be dressed up as Game & Watch and playing as Game & Watch. Yes, I'm 2D IRL... no, not really. Hopefully I can join in to witness the awe-inspiring game play :roll:

Shame I'll be gone to another area during some of those others though, when there's nothing else to do like there usually is at a-kon.
 
What's A-kon? An anime con? I don't know if I could put up with those people long enough to play Brawl.

Where's Garland in relation to Dallas? I'd love to bug DMK at a tourney. I'll be saying LOOK THERE'S DMK GO DMK HI DMK DMK WILL YOU SIGN MY CONTROLLAR?

A-kon, yeah, anime.
I went many years ago, super nerdy.

Garland is bigger city northeast of Dallas, not that far, maybe 20 minutes.
 
I made it from Denton back to CS in exactly three hours, even though the first time it took me 3.5 or so to get there. I guess Garland couldn't be any further away.

Dunno honestly why I'd show up though, and gas is insane enough as is.
 
A day pass is like $35, weekend is $50 something.

I wouldnt go, except theres not a major tournament anywhere even remotely close that weekend. Like its all on the two coasts and the northern border states.

There are going to be at least 3 different tournament winners there and a few top 3 placers there on top, so it should be pretty epic if they seed the brackets properly.

Aye, thanks for the games last night! I needed the warm up. My Lucas is really more of an opporunitist though, and I've seen JoeB play a much better one than mine. It's kind of hard to not rack up a quick KO with him in a 3 man FFA, since you can hold back until someone gets tossed, and then run in with that killer up smash.

I'm heading online now in case anyone wants to play.

JFD - I'm getting a laptop. I'm going to look into how I can use it to record matches, in case it is possible.

Yes more free time now. I hop on today for the first time in weeks thinking I'm going to play a smooth lag free game, then suddenly 3 frames per second. Glad it cleared up by the 2nd game.

Oh yeah it was 3 times ;P

I see Mad D now - for some reason, even though he was online, it wasn't updating him to the top of my list.

And when I try to connect, I get fucking 86420 errors! AGAIN!

Piece of shit online in Brawl. I swear to god I've done every suggestion to try and get it to work.
