So this is the 2-3 weeks that I'll be on the road to and from the Penny Arcade Expo (Aug 29-31)
I'll be zigzagging all over the place, hitting tournaments and visiting people.
Right now I've got JoeB in South Dakota, and hopefully one Mr. Beef in California would be game also.
If theres anyone remotely on the path that could put me up for the night, PM me. I bring food, drinks, and Smash thrashings.
I wont plan the final route until a week or two before I leave so that I know what the tournament situation is.
I'll be zigzagging all over the place, hitting tournaments and visiting people.

It was fun playing with you guys. I haven't played in a few days -- as if you couldn't tell! Dastly, what happened on Battlefield? You had just come back from dying and you started your rollout thing right as I was charging my B button as Marth. You rolled into David and Hero and you all collided with my sword, but then you were the only one to get killed. That was hilarious :lol:
David, I don't know how I beat you as Toon Link in our first match. I was absolutely horrible tonight and couldn't even do the things I wanted to. There was a little input lag, yeah, but I stunk big time!
And Hero, you had some really good finishes!

So apparently Jigglypuff is INSTANT KO if the shield breaks. In the cluster
I must have used some of my shield and I rolled right into your charged Marth attack and got instant killed.

Sorry, I would have played more matches after the second game, but I was using the Wii-mote for the first two games and wanted to switch to the GC controller, but doing that requires me to leave the game. And then after I plugged in the GC controller, I wanted to join your game again, but the "Join Game" button was blanked out. I got impatient and joined Dastly's game. I look forward to playing more games with you in the future.

I havent been feeling too great about my game lately. I've been getting trashed whenever any of the soon to be official top 10 in Texas are present.
I did however, win my first tournament on Saturday. It was a small 20 people thing in Corpus Christi, and no one big wanted to travel because they had all been to a tournament just the day before. If I dont recognize anyone, its a good sign.
It was a cakewalk. The only time I've ever played secondaries as something other than a last resort. Finals was Best of 5 and I went Snake, DK, MK and won all 3. I regret not going Ganon for the last one, for the epic lulz.
I won $75 and this FC Twin machine that plays NES/SNES games.
Edit: I posted the latest MK parlor trick in my blog.

I was in a local tournament the other day at a university.
BC champ and the one who won the tournament in Toronto (national champ i guess?) were both there.
Placed 5th out of 24 with my lucario, only two chars I lost to were MK (surprise surprise) and Snake (the ONLY good snake i've ever had to fight against)
Before that I had won a small tournament at a local church charity. Only person there worth noting was the national champ (who organized the tournament in the first place, but didn't participate due to the rape-age he would have brought along with him)
Edit: I'm the only one who mained as lucario, it was great =D

Why, you should come down stateside for the Penny Arcade Expo
The last time I won a tournament (or tried out for one) was back for the original N64. I placed first and won $40. All downhill from there :lol: I had won a couple others with Melee but I'm not sure how much credibility you put in local mini-golf course tournaments, but those were years ago now I'm a slave to responsibilities and a victim of a link-sys router. Doesn't matter though I think I'd get stomped by real tournament people.
