Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2

Finally saw Get Him to the Greek.

Lots of funny parts, but I'm getting tired of the typical Apatow "Funny funny funny then feel good not funny anymore" nonsense.

The Other Guys-- I saw it in the theaters and really liked it. Then I bought the blu-ray, watched it again and I like it even more.

The A-Team-- I liked it, just a simple, fun well done action movie.

Step-Up 3-D-- I wish I had my life back. Total waste of time but my wife is an ex-dancer so I had to see it with her.

Inception-- We all know its awesome by now.

Outlander-- I really liked this movie. I thought the concept was pretty interesting, and my wife even thought it was pretty good.

Shrek: The Final Chapter-- It was funny and pretty good but easily the weakest of the four movies. Even the Halloween episode or whatever was better than the movie I thought.

Despicable Me-- One of my favorite CG movies ever. I saw it in the theater and know then I would buy it the day it came out on blu-ray.

Vampires Suck-- I thought this movie was retarded but my wife found it very funny. It might make a difference that she has seen all the Twilight movies and I haven't seen any of them.
I actually had it spoiled for me before watching it the first time. Then I came back to the forum where it was spoiled (coughCAGcough) and some of the stuff I read made me want to watch it again.

I told my dad about all that stuff and he watched it again but still wasn't convinced. I was like
"He uses a shotgun and blades because he doesn't have to be accurate with them." and my dad just brought up the mouse and cat scene as the defense to his argument. But didn't buy it when I told him the very real fact that somebody that loses their sight tends to have their sense of smell and hearing improve. The point being that his hearing was so acute that he could hear a mouse run across the floor. But then he says how it didn't make sense that he could shoot a cat with an arrow and that was the contradiction that made me post the question.

If anybody has some other clues, I'd be interested to hear them.

It's a strange movie. A definite classic once you take all that into consideration. The way they did it subtly so you pondered it for a while long after the movie ends, kinda like "missing thumbs" in The Road.
With the scene with the cat,
he had staked the place out pretty well ahead of time (hence all thestuff that falls off him when he stands up). that being the case, he knew he had a straight shot to the body and assumed the cat would be in the same general area. When he heard it, BAM! let go f the arrow. the amazing thing about all that is that he had to hold the arrow drawn like that the whole time (why he was breathing so hard)

another scene that kind of does it is
when he investigates the house and finds the hanging body in the closet. you THINK he sees it, but he's feeling the body down to the boots, takes them off, then holds them to his own feet to see if they fit. I actually had to watch that scene twice to see the subtleties

great movie and i recommend it to everyone!

I did not enjoy book of eli. Very slow and the ending was just weak, IMO. Denzel being blind I thought was pretty clear at the end of the movie.

The Hunted - 10/10 - I saw this years ago and then again today and it was pure bad ass. Benicio Del Toro's/Tommy Lee Jones's best movie.

I thought it was outstanding.
 Even the ending... ?

Well I heard that Algren died at the end, so I was kinda expecting that then I was surprised he didn't..I think it would of been better if he was killed in the end battle though

Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead- This movie is a movie that is so bad, it's amazing. It is made by Troma so it's a laughably bad movie. Although I only recommend it if you can withstand cheesy gore, horrible musical numbers, and soft core porn scenes, lol.

Troma movies are intentionally bad though. You gotta watch one that tried to be a normal movie and failed hard. Like Troll 2. That's like the absolute king of laughably bad movies.

Best Worst Movie is a really good documentary on the Troll 2 following. Its definitely worth a watch for those who have experienced Troll 2...and you can't piss on hospitality !
waht was that movie where teh couples go to like an island and they are like hunted down and killed or something?
I believe you're talking about "A Perfect Getaway" that was out in 2009.

A surprisingly decent movie.

Knucklehead staring the great actor of WWE fame the big show. I'm really enjoying these straight to DVD movies the WWE are putting out
The Town, 9.5/10. I liked it a little more than The Departed.
2nd person I seen say that.....MUST SEE now

Alice In Wonderland (Tim Buton's version) - I really liked it and I was afraid I wouldn't since I thought Charlie & The Choc Factory was awful, but this was done very well and the CGI was excellent (A pet peeve of mine) and who didn't love Cheshire?

I hate how I go see movies that, for some reason, I feel like I HAVE to get out of my system. Tron was one such movie. I ignored the bad reviews but I thought this was an awful film. I was totally with the movie all the way up until they hit this massive wall of boring and lazy exposition at Flynn's house. The audience reaction summed it up perfectly, I heard lots of "that was STUPID" murmuring afterwards. I should've seen Black Swan instead,

I completely disagree, I thought this movie was very predictable and boring. My wife fell asleep during the movie and the last movie she asleep during was Twilight. The Departed to me was a much better movie.

We also watched The Legend of Guardians and we all thought it was fantastic.

Im on TEAM TOWN. Departed was aight, but the Town was a nudge better to me. Both had unconventionally attractive female leads.

Been seeing crap lately. THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE was utter trash. Even with low expectations it could have been so much more.

I thought it was pretty good. I have mixed feelings about the ending though.

The Town - I most definitely did NOT like it more than The Departed. The Departed was miles better than The Town.. but The Town can hold its own, it was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Beach - I don't get the hate for this movie. It had a few weird parts, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Defiance - 9/10

I had no idea what this movie was about other than Daniel Craig being in it. Very good movie. Alexa Davalos is a good surprise too. This came bundled with Enemy at the Gates BR.

Dear John - Thought I would be nice and watch this with the wife since I put in my netflix instant que and we both thought it was a stinker.

Watched Resident Evil: Afterlife last night.

It actually wasn't......that bad. Best of the 4 RE movies, but that's not saying much.

I must watch The Town. Heard alot of people say it was really good, must see for myself.

The Expendables - A pretty bad "movie" but the action was ridiculously awesome so it was totally worth it in the end.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome - This movie started off great, I was really interested in Barter Town but it completely jumped the shark when he went to that village of kids. The end was ok, but I really lost focus and wasn't paying much attention.

Waking Up In Reno - Seen it a few years ago and liked it, so I re-watched it via my instant Netflix que, wasn't as funny as I remembered, but I still enjoyed it.

The Tourist - 4/10

I wish that was Joel Mchale... At least then he'd actually maybe be funny in something. Gawd these actors are overrated. Anyway, Jolie looked "fragile" and not attractive at all. Reminded me of this:

How To Train Your Dragon - Funny, cute, not the world beater everyone seems to think it is, but still a good movie.
Yojimbo - Didn't like it as much as Sanjuro, but still, Kurosawa is Kurosawa.

That guy's agent needs to tell him to pick movies based on the director rather than the script. He can act quite well with good direction (see Life As A House), but with Star Wars, George Lucas managed to make even Natalie Portman and Liam Neeson look like shitty actors because he became a one-take director after American Graffiti.

I do think his acting was pretty wooden, but crunch hit it right on the head. How you make Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman look like B movie actors is beyond me but some directors manage it.

I'll just list some movies I thought were surprisingly good. Easy A was the last one I saw.

Others:
Scott Pilgrim
He Was A Quiet Man
Lucky Number Slevin
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (not too surprising but I really liked it a lot)
Hot Fuzz (same as above)

Movies people liked that made me say wtf...

No Country For Old Men
The Departed
Benjamin Button
