No. Closet thing I can think of is the father's friend in Paris who was having him followed and trying to get rid of him did have something to do with the group.
^ They guy in Paris was just a former contact he wanted info from, he didn't know the cop was taking kickbacks so the operation could function without police interference.

Best part of the movie was
when he shot the dude's wife for no reason. PWND!
Yeah that was a good part. As for the guys friend
it wasn't him that was taking the kickbacks it was his boss. He knew something about it but didn't want to. All he wanted to think about was he got 2 checks. So it was the foce and not just him that was getting money from it. Also I would think their doughters were protected from it. Also that is the only twist I could think of and knew he had somthing to do with it when he was having him followed.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai - 2/5 - Had some entertaining moments but I didn't see why this is a cult film. It has an allstar cast but overall I guess weird film? Horrible story telling too. Why do I have to wait an hour into the film to understand what is happening. blarg. Peter Weller FTW!!!

Lost Boys 2 - The Tribe - 2/5 - Average Vamp movie with very little gore. Surfer Vamps sit in the sewers and play gear of war all day. No joke. Autumn Reeser ftw.

I Love You Man - 3/5 - story stinks but you expect that going in. has a few good lines which had me laughing out loud.

My internet was out all weekend, so all I had were movies to watch.

Hancock - First half was great, second half was boring
National Lampoon's European Vacation - Really funny, but Vacation is better
The Shawshank Redemption - WOW, incredible movie!
Stargate - Really good sci-fi movie, I enjoyed it a lot
Crank - Crazy in your face shit, fun movie
The Toxic Avenger - fucked up and equally hilarious, I laughed my ass off for 1:15

I Love You, Man (2009)

This was so funny, and enjoyable. The cast is awesome, with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel as the leads (those two are always hilarious), Rashida Jones, Jaime Pressly, Andy Samberg, J. K. Simmons, Jon Favreau, Aziz Ansari, Lou Ferrigno, Thomas Lennon (Lieutenant Jim Dangle from Reno 911!), Joe Lo Truglio (Deputy Frank Rizzo from Reno 911!), Ian Roberts (Sergeant Jack Declan from Reno 911!), and Jay Chandrasekhar (from Super Troopers). All rock, but especially Favreau in his small role, who is always pissed off at Rudd's character. I probably liked this as much as The Hangover, although The Hangover was admittedly (slightly) funnier.

Duplicity (Julia Roberts, Clive Owen)
I hate Julia Roberts, and I especially hate romantic caper flicks, but it was actually really good. Should have a less forgettable title, because I keep having to look it up on Clive Owen's filmography to recommend it, and I usually don't have problems doing that.

The Bank Job (Jason Statham)
Was expecting another lousy Transporter-by-way-of-Italian-Job-remake crapfest, and came away with a thoroughly competent, really exciting time.

Race to Witch Mountain (2009)

Do not try to take this film seriously, as it's cheesy as hell. Look at it like as a sci-fi B-movie, and, well it still won't be a great film, but you might enjoy it more. It's very fast paced, almost too much, as it's all "rush, rush, rush", right from the start. Rock was entertaining, but it didn't feel like a "Rock movie", and it's not one of Rock's better films.

Finally watched Borat for the first time. It was pretty funny, but I have no idea what all the commotion and endless quoting was about. It wasn't that funny...

Borat was like many of the hyped video games of the last few years. ;)

Sunshine Cleaning - 5/10

Why I wanted to see this I don't know... I don't actively search for a movie unless there's a reason I wanted to see it via memorable previews or something. Wasn't all that great or original.

Watchmen - 4/10

That was a waste of time... At the very least I could've just watched The Incredibles over again. Still don't see the hype...

Slumdog Millionaires - 7/10

Was ok, I guess. Still don't see the hype...

Watchmen director's cut. I liked the main addition pertaining to Hollis Mason. Seemed much shorter than when I saw it in the theatre. Really enjoyed it once again.

just got back from a midnight showing of funny people. absolutely tremendous. another judd apatow gem. highly recommend it if you like any of his movies. if not, well, i'd still give it a shot, because this actually has a lot of drama to it, also.
So... the previews lie? There's actual funny people in that movie?
I didn't find the previews funny either. I hope it's just the previews.

Halloween (2007) - 3/5 - if the beginning w/ the kid wasn't an hour long it would have been better. Amazing cast in the film, Ken Foree, the black guy from Dawn of the Dead or the Sheriff played by the voice of Chucky? $$$$
So... the previews lie? There's actual funny people in that movie?
I'm guessing not, with Adam Sandler being in it and all.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009)

Can we somehow get Matthew McConaughey to stop making movies? I mean, I'd be willingly to fund something to end his (film) career. The film itself was about original as taking a shit. Asshole guy (McConaughey) gets a lot of pussy, then is shown that, "that lifestyle" isn't good/healthy/whatever, eventually asshole guy seeks out to be with one, individual, "special" pussy, (in this case, Jennifer Garner). Oh, and Michael Douglas in this too, because he must have needed money or something.

Observe and Report (2009)

Not a bad year for great comedies, with this, I Love You, Man and The Hangover. Observe and Report is just as funny as those two. The thing about this film, is it's not visually funny (not until the last half an hour, anyways), it's the dialogue and delivery, especially Seth Rogan's. It's worth mentioning that if you don't like Rogan's schtick, you more than likely will not like this. I love him though, and in this film he's turned it up a notch. He's much more of an asshole in this film, than his usual "loveable oaf" character. Besides Rogan, Patton Oswalt and Aziz Ansari are great in their small roles, and Anna Faris and Ray Liotta are both surprisingly hilarious in their supporting roles. And finally, the director of this, and co-creator of Eastbound & Down, Jody Hill, gave Danny Fuckin' McBride (aka Kenny Fuckin' Powers) a cameo as "Caucasian Crackhead". So right there, it's pretty great.

I Love You, Man - I was incredibly disappointed. I was hoping for a good movie but all I got was 100 minutes of awkwardness with the same three jokes. I Love You had a plot that would have been better suited for a single 30 minute sitcom. It did have a few very funny parts but the lack of any real plot and Rashida Jones doing a horrible job even with such a simple one-dimensional character. This would be my top pick of overrated movie of the year.
Valkyrie...pretty awesome...didnt know the German Resistance even existed. Crazy how one fuckin 2X4 could have changed world history
Damn, I hope this isn't a spoiler.

The Hurt Locker - Any and all combat/bomb scenes are awesome. The out-of-combat dialog is a little weird and uninteresting. The movie is over two hours, and those scenes definitely drag. James is presented as a thoroughly flawed character, which keeps the movie interesting.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - 4/5 - I seen Oldboy and Lady Vengeance and have to say this is the worst of Vengeance films. Lady Vengeance being the best of the group. It has some good moments, story is told in a way where u have to piece it together which is nice at times but the lack of direction at some points were a turn off. Some story elements were dropped in there to add depth to a character which didn't feel necessary. Overall a good story, some violent acts but not extremely gory. Baseball bat + thugs head = win

looking forward to Thirst if it gets a wider release.

Observe and Report - I honestly dont know what to think about this movie although the scene where
he was fucking her and then stopped cause she looked unconcious and she just layed there and said "Why re you stopping, motherfucker?"
was HILARIOUS

Finished off Terminator Salvation and The Day The Earth Stood Still....Terminator was alright.....Earth was passable...

500 Days of Summer- Not a bad movie, different from what I expected but it was a pleasant surprise.

The Collector-Saw this last night, it was entertaining and gory to say the least, I'd wait for DVD though.

Probably going to see The Hurt Locker today, keep hearing great things about it.
