Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck
Had no luck asking this in the should we have a movie subforum thread so I'll ask here:

Do any of you guys have any movie forums you frequent and enjoy? I'd like to find a site dedicated to movies that has active and mature discussion of films. I don't want something like AVS Forum where the discussion is more about A/V quality than discussion of films. So that rules out Home Theater Forum as well. DVD Talk is out as I quit posting there a few years back as it was just getting too many ads, adult content (though I think that is gone now) etc.
I just read the wiki entries, but a forum would be nice.

Here's a bump as I wouldn't mind a forum for it as well, it would be convenient to have it here though.

TV... Movie... I dunno, This is the closest thread to my question.

(obviously not), but is Zooey Deschanel and Lizzy Caplan the same person or related or have they played similar roles in stuff?? It seems like they have really similar personalities and looks.

The Hurt Locker.

Fantastic. Definitely the best movie I've seen so far this year (though I haven't been going as much as usual) and one of the best war movies I've seen.
The Wackness.

Absolutely amazing.
I just saw this too. It surprised me, and I liked it... I mean if you look at who is in it (a Full House kid, a Nickelodeon kid, Ben Kingsley, Method Man...), you might cringe like I did. But I gave it a chance and they did a pretty decent job. Cept for Method Man's HORRIBLE fake accent lol.

The Hurt Locker - Great , felt sort of like a mini-series to me, in a good way.

Funny People - I couldn't quite tell how this movie would play out which is a good thing. It's less apologetic on its take of reality. I would recommend it.

I thought that movie was shit when it came out. Now though after really looking at the US, that move is prophetic.

The Haunting in Connecticut was a surprisingly good, extremely visceral horror movie! Pretty freakin' twisted! Made me glad I dont live in an old house anymore...

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)

If you like animated animal films like this, or the Ice Age franchise in general, I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy this film. Some fans even think it's the best of the three Ice Age films, (I think I would still prefer the original, over the sequels). All of the cast from the previous films return, but with Denis Leary's "Diego" in a smaller role, and the addition of an entertaining new character, Buck, the one-eyed weasel, voiced by Simon Pegg. Unlike Pixar with its arty "masterpieces", or DreamWorks with its funny, but repetitive characters and uninspired plots, Blue Sky Studios' plays its films for comedy, with good stories. I've enjoyed the Ice Ages series, Robots, and Horton Hears a Who! more than a quite a few of Pixar's and DreamWorks' films.

500 Days of Summer - 4/5 - just an awesome film. Funny and realistic one of the best films this summer. You find yourself relating to the relationship in the film. Can't say I have done it often in any other film and it happens quite a bit in 500days. Just go see it.

Watched V For Vendetta after picking it up at Best Buy's blu-ray sale for ten bucks. I forgot how awesome that movie is, especially in high-def, and for ten bucks...

District 9 - Very good and easily the most original movie I've seen in quite awhile, but not sure if I like it more than Star Trek which is my current favorite movie of the year.

District 9 - It's amazing. Simply a movie that's so different from everything else, it's hard to believe it got made. The $30 million budget surely helped. I didn't get the charm of the aliens at first, but the main one could be an icon. Blomkamp would have made a hell of a Halo movie.

Side note - If anyone was disturbed by the depictions of black people in Black Hawk Down, you probably won't appreciate this either. The gangsters aren't on screen too much, but when they are...

Les Miserables - Its the 2000 made for French tv 4 part miniseries with Jon Malkovich and Gerard Depradieu. Pretty damn good version and who knew Malkovich spoke fluent french?

I Love You Man-I liked it a lot these kind of roles seem to fit Paul Rudd really well.

Harry Potter:Order of the Phoenix-Enjoyed it a lot, also needed to watch it because I might see the newer one in the next few days.

Has anyone seen Ponyo yet? I really like Miyazaki's movies but this one seems a little too childish? Am I wrong or can this be a date a movie for a childless married couple in their late 20's?

The Last Man on Earth. Voices were funny because it sounded like everything was recorded in a room, even when the guy is yelling outside. I really liked it though.
